Thought of a new mechanic I could add to the game: Devil Fruits. Some players might encounter Devil Fruits and choose to eat them or not. It will grant them a special ability, but when a Devil Fruit is eaten it wil be announced what the Devil Fruit is and that some one (Anonymous) has eaten it. If ignored, then it isn't announced.

The thing is, the roles I have are suited to the number of people, and most, if not all roles would be subject to change if the number were to as well. I cannot access the data I have for the Mafia so far, as it's on my computer and, as I've been obnoxiously complaining about, I do not have access to it.

Either 4 or 6 people, yes. That doesn't seem that hard on paper, but it's ard to make the game sound intersting to someone who hasn't played it.

Depends on what the executioner (host) feels like doing. We generally take on OP characters if you feel like roleplaying a little.

Out of inetrest, whats the rules with hosting? Just stick a sign up thread up once this game is done?

No, newcomers get the fool.

And there aren't really any rules for hosting. Obviously, don't run one while another is going on, though opening sign-ups earlier is usually okay. We have a queue thread for hosting somewhere. We run two types of games, minis and full games. The next full game is SUDK's but sign-ups for that have stagnated a little. The one Bogart is distributing his milkshake for now is a mini. Main difference is that minis are smaller and usually simpler, but you can also use minis to test out outrageous setup ideas.~

Oh yeah, don't actually make a new thread for signups if you want to host. We used to do that till Robby sicced the apocalypse on us. We just play everything in here or on adhoc forums (if the game is an anonymous one).

We have nine, so I guess we'll be starting as soon as I can get things going.

This will be a "Classic" Mafia game. The setup is open: you will know every role in the game. The setup is as follows:

1 Mafia Goon
1 Mafia Roleblocker
1 Town Doctor
1 Town Cop
5 Townspeople

Role Explanations:

! You are a Townsperson. You have no special abilities. You win when the Mafia is eliminated.
! You are a Town Doctor. Once a night you may select a target. That target cannot be killed. You win when the Mafia is eliminated.
! You are a Town Cop. Once a night you may select a target. You will learn the target's alignment. You win when the Mafia is eliminated.
! You are a Mafia Roleblocker. Once a night you may select a target. That target's ability will fail. Additionally, you may select a target together with the Mafia Goon. That target will be killed. You win when the number of Mafia equal the number of Town.
! You are a Mafia Goon. Once a night, you may select a target together with the Mafia Roleblocker. That target will be killed. You win when the number of Mafia equal the number of Town.
Rules: (There are edits, so please review.)
! 1. The object of the game is to achieve your win condition using your abilities, working together with allies and lynching your suspects. For the enjoyment of all, always play towards your win condition.
! 2. In order for a participant to be lynched, a player must type "Vote: PlayerName" or "Vote Lynch: PlayerName".
! 3. Players may solicit a No Lynch by writing "Vote: No Lynch". If the majority votes "No Lynch", the day ends without a lynch.
! 4. Contestants may rescind or adjust their vote, but may only do so by first entering "Unvote" followed by any further modifications. All voting and/or unvoting must be done in BOLD or it will not be counted.
! 5. Once a majority has been reached, the current count immediately validates a lynch and ends the Day Phase, whether or not the moderator is present. Unvoting or changing of votes after the fact will not alter the outcome.
! 6. Personal Messaging, E-mail and any other means of communication outside of the game thread are prohibited. Discussion about the game (between active players) is restricted to the main thread. Only the members of the Mafia are an exception.
! 7. A direct copy or printscreen of your role is forbidden. You may freely paraphrase (or falsify) them.
! 8. Deceased players may not post in the main thread at any time. Non-players are asked to refrain from posting until the game ends.
! 9. During the Night Phase, no player may post in the main thread.
! 10. DO NOT EDIT YOUR POSTS ONCE THE GAME OFFICIALLY STARTS. BREAKING THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN A MOD-KILL.
! Truthfully, Mafia requires a level of secrecy that can only be managed with full cooperation from all players. Everyone must maintain the integrity of the game to the best of their ability in order for the game to be enjoyable. People who break these rules will be punished.

The game will start once everyone has confirmed they have received their roles through Personal Messages. These haven't been sent out yet, please bear with me a little longer.
