This thread is severely overdue.
For those of you outside of the loop, NBC's Parks and Recreation is arguably the best network comedy on TV. Currently in its fifth season, Parks and Rec follows the misadventures of naively optimistic government official Leslie Knope as she tries to turn an abandoned construction pit into a park. Of course, being the dysfunctional comedy it is, this plot goes very awry very fast and eventually the plot is resolved and the show only gets better from there. And that's just one character!
The first season is a bit bland and uninspired, but the show eventually levels up quickly and by season 3, it's firing on all cylinders. Every character is utterly enchanting, from Ron fucking Swanson to April's perfect deadpan, to Andy's lovable manchildness. Then there's its extended universe, with the likes of Perd Hapley, Bobby Newport, and Joan Callamezzo making Pawnee the most happening town on television.
Parks and Recreation is unmistakeably funny, unflinchingly sincere, and at times, unbelievably emotional.
Seriously, I want a Parks and Rec thread.
! Looks like the marriage will be the centerpiece of the season.
! In other news, Ann was amazing tonight. From the dramatic house purchase to the auction, I was dying.
! And Donna's livetweeting was grand. And don't get my started on the earthshattering effects of having Lucy Lawless and Kathryn Hahn coexisting in the same 22 minutes.
