@The:
So how does the "only supers kill" thing work out? Is the entirety of the rest of the moves pointless, and is there any way not to get insta-killed on a level 3? How are the items. and stage interactivity?
Well the whole timing of the super moves is awesome, once you get the hang of it.
Using that super at the exact precise time to hit multiple opponent is just pure satisfaction.
Also knowing other supers, and dodging them is also alot of fun.
I'm not much of a fighting gamer myself, so it's also nice that this is easy to get into (one of the main reasons i like Smash)
Doing Combo's/Hitting other characters is the way to gather the much needed AP for supers. Some characters/ and weapons are also able to steal/deplete some of your oponents super bar.
So you'll be trying to go after your oponent non-stop. It has a more "agressive" feel to it than Smash.
Stage interactivity is also a big part of the game. Most stages have various additional ways to let you gain AP, or knock some AP out of you.
Or in case of the Hades lvl, Hades stuns your character (if he hits you) making you wide open for atacks.
Some lvl 3's can be avoided, some can't. The ones that can't be avoided can kill everyone on screen. But that only makes for 3 kills!
The ones that can be avoided have the potential to hit more than 3 characters.
And it takes almost the entire match to get to lvl3,
It's way easier to get to lvl 1 and 2 (obviously) and do those multiple times to get more total kills than a lvl 3.
But the downside in doing is that the those 1 and 2 supers are that they will get you less kills and they are easier to avoid.
So it all about learning to use a character and effectively learning to perform their Supers in the best way possible.
