As I've said before and as it's already been pointed out, Law is indeed using room already before cutting Scotch in half. It's just kinda hard to notice
I never noticed until someone pointed it out as well. OP sure does demand a reread sometimes.

Oh my GOD did this chapter have me rolling! Oda is the damn MAN! He is using this body switching thing to the utmost, and I'm loving every bit of it. Nami calling them perverts while inside the body of a pervert, and Franky abusing Chopper's Monster Point and then getting the shit beat out of him by Luffy = WIN. And Luffy biting the chain with his mouth is so classic One Piece.
And of course the cliffhanger at the end. I can't wait to see what Law has up his sleeve.
This chapter was cool. Coolcoolcool.
IMO it could be Kaidou too for 2 reasons:
1. As well as Moria, Law seems to have lost his crew (to Kaidou?).
2. PH is just like Kaidou's theme so far "technological-future-like", so maybe the key on PH is the key to take down Kaidou.
Luffy might agree anyway with him if he says:
"Help me with BM and I'll help you with Kaidou.
No matter which Yonkou it is, I now can c why Law saved Luffy back then. It's like an "argument" if he wants to debate with Luffy.
Haha, Scotch on the Rocks. Nice pun Oda.
Hey, wouldn't it be hilarious if one of the Yetti Brothers has a face similar to pandaman?

I very much doubt that. Ther eis nothing to suggest we'll be seein Kaidou anytime soon. It all seems to be pointing to a show down with Big Mam with all that happenned on Fishman Island, and them saying how Kidd has been taking out their allies/ships…
I really don't get how Kaidou has any revealed theme. We just saw 1 Island so far, where he likes to hang out, and with some guy with some weird mask and a gun thing attachment to his arm....thats hardly proof of anythin atm.
I bet Luffy's gonna tell Law that he already declared war on Big Mom.
Laws reaction face would be hilarious.
Would be interesting to find which Yonkou Law targeted is.
His temporary alliance with CC (the candy and such) pointed to Big Mom, but…

I would love if Law+Luffy are planning to take down Kaidou and Big Mom.
I guess Law's crew were either destroyed or captured by Big Mom or Kaidou. But when he said he's planning "to take back something", I would think the crew were captured by one of the Yonkou. The question is which Yonkou?
It seems that Kid Pirates are having fun atm with Big Mom so it would suggest Law's Crew were pretty weak if they were captured by Big Mom.
So I would prefer the one that destroyed and captured Law's crew would be Yonkou Kaidou. And Law was planning revenge with CC until he saw a better prospect in Strawhat Pirates.
Law saved Luffy life once so he might want to return the favor.
luffy: I already promised the yonkou big mam that I'd kick her ass and take FI as my turf
law:eneru/perona/jinbei reaction face eeeh?
what if Cc or law have an invitation to big mams party on full cake island? I don't know why she'd invite a shichibukai or a mad scientist but yea

Unlikely for Law. He has been harassing Big Mom's ships for a while now.
I said this last week and no one gave a fxck. And I'll say it again until someone does. His name isn't 'Rock' it's 'Loch' like a Scottish (Hence 'Scotch') lake.
EDIT: But fxcking yes Law. That's the fxcking point. Unless it's Shanks o' course. It can't be.
RE-EDIT: Bases, it's gotta' be Big Mom. Law's was the only other Supernova who actually got involved in the war, and must've seen the LuffyXShanks connection, surely. In reality, we know nothing of Kaidou, and BB and Shanks' roles'll develop later in the story. If any Yonkou's gonna' go, it hasta' be BM.
Really feeling this SH+Sun Pirates+Heart Pirates alliance that was mentioned above. Even more so if Kidd & co. turn up just to fxck things up. It'd be the maddest shxt. And yes, an Alliance'd really help to overcome the fact that the SH're probably still unable to defeat a Yonkou on their own. Drag along 2 Shichibukai and everything'll be just fine.
I think it will be either big mom or kaidou, and everything is pointing toward Big Mom at the moment. Maybe, like the Shichibukai, there are differences in strength amongst the Yonkou as well and I think Shanks and BB are at the very top of that. Afterall, Whitebeard was the strongest for a long time and no doubt someone else is the strongest now.
Kuma's powers were a little different, even at the start.
They had one basic function and nothing else. But yeah, I guess we'll get a suitable explanation for Law eventually.
Law used on the Cool Brother the same move that Luffy used on Hody in the water : it's a "Haki Shock"
Unlikely for Law. He has been harassing Big Mom's ships for a while now.
The one who attacked Big Mom's ships was Kid.
Unlikely for Law. He has been harassing Big Mom's ships for a while now.
No, that was Kidd
"Help me with BM and I'll help you with Kaidou."
That doesn't sound like something Luffy would ever say.
Unlikely for Law. He has been harassing Big Mom's ships for a while now.
I know Eustass kid damaged 2 of big moms ships I don't think laws done anything to her..yet
and that is because Law isn't an idiot. Kidd seems to be the kind of person that just attacks first and asks questions later while Law seems like the kind of person that has a master plan. I believe he is after One Piece too so it might even be so that this alliance he is proposing is part of a scheme to also eliminate Luffy as a rival;while eliminating one of the yonkou. We don't know much about Law but he is dark and isn't known as the surgeon of death for no reason. He might have saved Luffy once but who is to say he will be friendly from this moment forth?
Is this the reason why he saved Luffy? Because he actually planned this alliance as far back as 2 years ago, and it would be a waste for Luffy to die then? Maybe he planned it right after the sabaordy arc when those 3 met. He did say he has his own reasons for saving Luffy. After Kidd gave that speech about surviving in the New World, he thought it would be best to form alliance with these 2 strong-willed captains. I'm still wondering why he would risk his life entering a battlefield full of Admirals and Shichibukais to save someone he just met so maybe this could be the reason.
Don't knw but them meating in the New World at this point was purely accidental. Both didn't plan this at all but Law might have had the plan to make an alliance with anyone that is strong and has no affeliations with any of the yonkou. Himsaving Luffy could have been a first hint in him wanting an alliance with Luffy, certainly after he saw the dark king showing up on Amazon Lilly for Luffy. He knows Luffy is without a doubt very strong and trained by one of the strongest people around so it was a good tactic.
Law used on the Cool Brother the same move that Luffy used on Hody in the water : it's a "Haki Shock"
Why does everything have to be Haki? We didn't even see Busoshoku until after Enies Lobby, it's not the end-all-be-all of powers. When does Luffy "shock" Hody Jones with Haki? If you bring up Gomu Gomu no Snake Shot, I'm gonna laugh.

You're gonna laugh ? I think you are going to regret these words as this is obviously it.
Why do I know it is Haki ? Because both Law and Luffy use it and it has nothing to do with their devil fruit.

Okay, do a detailed explation on how Counter Shock can be included in any of the types of haki.
Sigh, why does everything have to be haki? Oda can be creative you know.

This is the problem with the introduction of haki. Every single stare in the manga is now a haoshoku haki. Every single dodging ability most definitely is kenbunshoku. Every single physical damage ability is busoshoku. Its just how it is with these nerds. Haki isn't something you use to counter logia or anything. Of course not. Its just an elementary ability in the new world, everyone's got it. With or without training. In fact… its so common that I wonder why Luffy went through 2 years of training to learn it. He should've stopped wasting time and learnt it on the fly. Its not like Haki is hard right?

No doubt. Law is a very cautious man. I wouldn't hesitate to compare his attitude to Shanks. He knows what he can take and does weigh the risks and rewards to make any decision. That is precisely how they are.
He invariably wants to maintain his independence in the new world. The best way, as he stated, was to team up with people such as Kidd/Luffy.
You're gonna laugh ? I think you are going to regret these words as this is obviously it.

Snake Shot has everything to do with Luffy's DF.
His arm stretches forward in a serpentine path, and Luffy admits that the attack was weakened by the sea.
The real proof is that his arm isn't vulcanized, so he's not using Busoshoku. He doesn't say "Buso", either.
Now that I think about it, how the hell is an electric attack like Counter Shock, covered by Haki?
The visual/sound effect for Snake Shot represented Hody's ribs being broken, but this…
It's clearly electrical, and not even Busoshoku can do that, I don't think.

I think you guys fear the "Surgeon of Death" term too much. You may call it dark, but I see Law as quite light. Pirates by definition are "dark" and those who are strong have had to fight well in order to get there. You may call Kidd dark, since that was explained in Shabondy. But Law has not been at all dark. I can't see Oda writing Law such that he will back-stab Luffy later on. The only thing I can see them doing is fighting honorably over one-piece. Fact of life.

true but if you look at Law's countershok attack, it looks a lot like back at shabaody when Luffy, post-time skip punched the pacifista that shot the beam at him. the way it is drawn, with the electricity-type lines are the same. Not saying Law definately used haki, just that it is plausible but it could've had something to do with his DF aswell.

I agree with the Snake shot not being Haki since I understand Luffy's abilities.
Not disagreeing with you on the Haki debate, since I certainly have no idea of Law's full scope of powers. But sir, I would like to disagree that Counter Shock has anything electrical in nature. Kuma's paw-paw shock was also a shock, but not electrical. Shocks are merely a representation of burst damage. In this case particularly, we see that. If the guy got electrocuted in one place and fell down, I would agree it's electrical, but since he flew back. It most certainly is a physical shock.

I have no clue what you mean by electricity lines, since I am too lazy to go back and look. But lines in general in manga's are a representation of immense speed. That does not mean electric in nature, it means it is similar to the speed of lightning. Common convention since manga is static unlike anime's.

I didn't mean that the attack IS electrical, but the first time we saw Luffy use an attack with armament Haki was against the pacifista at shabaody and the lines drawn there were to show the difference between a normal attack or a haki attack and the lines that were drawn when Luffy attacked came over to me as lines one would draw to draw electricity like with Enel. It does not mean that it is electricity… Anyway, the way Law attacked reminded me of that image... a lot.
and Luffy at Shabaody was definately haki because even sentamarou said it was.

Aye I know what you mean. I suspect that Law used Haki as well due to the fact that none of ope-ope's abilities actually allow pushing. His abilities work inside his room and instant relocation of attacks and objects (correct me if I am wrong). Whereas this was a physical push, not unlike sentomaru's ashigari dokkoi, which is essentially haki.
It's obvious Oda wants us to believe it's going to be kaidou or Big Mom.
I tip my hat it's going to be Blackbeard, let's get this manga over with.
Don't knw but them meating in the New World at this point was purely accidental. Both didn't plan this at all but Law might have had the plan to make an alliance with anyone that is strong and has no affeliations with any of the yonkou. It's just another one of the many "coincidences" in this manga.
By the way, I'm pretty curious to see how Law is panning to keep the power (if he defeat a Yonkou) since seems that he doesn't even have a crew anymore.
I'd be cool if he wants to defeat Big Mom because of his crew. That would make a nice parallel between Law and Jinbe, both linked with Big Mom because of their respective crews. Very cool.
When there's time the plot needed luffy to use more of his head and to show his ambition, we'll always think it would be unnatural if luffy suddenly become carried away with those kinda situations. Some may say, he isn't the luffy we knew all this time. All this time, we see luffy as the most simple minded person.. He wanted to become a pirate king because of the promise among the three brothers, and was more motivated after he met Shanks. Also he told Rayleigh, back then, that he don't want to be a pirate king to conquer the sea.. he just think that pirate king is the man with the most freedom.
With this kind of luffy in mind, we'll all think that it's not going to be luffy, if he just accepted the offer without a strong reason behind.
If Law can provide a logic explanation about why he really want to defeat one of the emperors and Luffy accepted it, then we can see a tag team between SH and Law's pirate group (what's the name of his group anyway?). Maybe related mysterious items that could change the whole world hidden in that island? Or some other reason?
Because except the fuss he's had with BM, there's really no reason for luffy for bringing a duel with one of the emperors, at least right now.. If there's someone he's really aiming for, that must be marine, especially Akainu.
what you said is real good and makes a lot of sense…
But as you all can see and should have seen is Luffy is a lot more mature now. He is still the same goofy idiot we all love but he has matured and has his mature moments and this will be one of them. His answer to Law will not be a quick no or yes, it will be a mature yes or no. Most likely it will be a yes but Luffy will at least hear what Law has to say before shutting him down or saying yes.
Rayliegh must have taught him a lot, you know and this is one of his lessons. Decisions like this, I'm sure Rayleigh taught him about how to handle situations like this. And Luffy himself knows how important allies are (Whitebeard War Saga) and he will definately Ally with Trafalgar Law once he knows the target is Big Mom
Also titles... Luffy doesn't care about titles (except for PK) so yonko, shichibukai, supernova dont mean shit to him when it comes to his ambition, his friends or enemies. As many people are saying, Luffy will want to take BM on alone cuz she is a yonko. that makes no sense at all, just cuz she's a yonk means nothing to him, he doesn't care about any title other than PK. He wont battle BM in order to become a Yonko, he'll fight her because of his friends (Jimbe & Fishman Island)
Pretty neat chapter.
I remember that back then, at Shabondy part, there was a frame with switched text floating around. Luffy reacts to Bepo and Trafalgar with words - "Awesome bear! Join me as a second division of Strawhats !" or something along these lines. Funny how now Oda makes exactly Trafalgar propose an alliance.
And the other three are dulled with drunk gas. Nice, because I can't see them playing dead or getting shot and bleeding unconsciously in the snow.
Now I'm interested, what comes next
Super Rookie saga or Wano…

I am not the kind to do assumptions and see Haki everywhere, this is based on careful observation.
I call dibs on this happening:

Lol seriously, you "understand Luffy's abilities" ? How the hell has "Snake Shot" anything to do with Gum hmm ?
is it strange to imagine Luffy using haki in the snake shot attack?
He was in water with a time limit and needed to eliminate someone, who was a fishman, as soon as possible.
I can see that as a reason to use haki anyway U put it. Luffy can probably use all of hs attacks with haki so if you are in a life or death situation, right after somebody trained U in the fighting style used by the elite, would U use it?
U would!
Aye I know what you mean. I suspect that Law used Haki as well due to the fact that none of ope-ope's abilities actually allow pushing. Eh? What about "Tact", when he pushed/pulled an entire ship into the air?
Besides, this was less of a push and more of a shockwave, whether it was electrical or not.
I'm just annoyed that people are treating Haki like another dime-a-dozen fodder power.
It's supposed to be unique.
What? Haki Unique? Haki is not unique at all everyone has Haki.
every one has haki , but ssome ppl can adwaken it faster and some slower…and i concluison some ppl anr not good at using it...I don't understand why u hate haki so much , sorry for the bad spelling but it is 5 a.am hete and I'm kid of drunk.
What? Haki Unique? Haki is not unique at all everyone has Haki.
Oda didn't even formerly introduce it until, what? A decade into the story?
Haki is a latent power, that doesn't mean everyone can use it to kick Logias on a whim.
Now I'm interested, what comes next
Super Rookie saga or Wano…
I don't see why Wano can't be part of the Super Rookie Saga.
Have T-Rex Drake causing rampage around the country, making people think that he's some sort of dragon or something.
I'm just annoyed that people are treating Haki like another dime-a-dozen fodder power.
It's supposed to be unique.
Who is treating Haki like fodder power? Law is far from fodder.
I see nobody saying that Haki is something that everybody can have. You would think that a former 440 Million Bounty Head would have access to it.

LOL, musketeer versus samurai. Why does this sound so amusing?

I guess. I just want to be more certain of Law's powers first. They're kind of insane.
Now I'm interested, what comes next
Super Rookie saga or Wano…
wano will be an arc in the super rookie vs big mom saga. just like drum kingdom arc in the baroque works saga.
i believe there will be a mini arc where they take kinemon and his kid back to wano before continuing.
LOL, musketeer versus samurai. Why does this sound so amusing?
LOL that reminds me of Spkie channels show of Dealiest Warrior. I know it had both of them but can't remember if it was against each other or other warriors. But thanks to your comment I am imagining the show having musketeer versus samurai but instead of the historical warriors, they have X Drake and Kinemon facing each other.
edit- just looked at wiki list of episodes, it was
Viking vs Samurai (season 1 Ep 2)
Ming Warriors vs French Musketeers (season 2 Ep 20)
what you said is real good and makes a lot of sense…

Ehhh? your expecting a MATURE decision? It's Luffy. What are the odds of him having grown a brain in the last 2 years? Don't be sad if he ends up answering while picking his nose having not understood the situation he is in.
Thanks for the translation, C3. As expected some things became clearer after reading the correct version of the translated chapter.
He dodged an attack! It must be haki!
He hit someone and it had a special effect! Must be haki!
He scared someone! Must be haki!
I hate this place sometimes.
