That's why the phrase "Don't judge a book by its cover" eXists, because that's precisely what people are gonna keep doing. At least in this case, it's in our favor.

My Collection 5 shipped. You guys may want to check the status's of your order's.
Mine too. Crazy, and awesome how early they ship. I'll be preordering s4 from them for this reason alone- even if the shipping costs me an extra few bucks.
For Season 4, I'm going to continue order from where I usually order my One Piece dvds from Amazon.
Riiiiiiiight Stuuuuuuuuf. Want those things early!
I just got my Collections 1-4 last week. I absolutely love the Funimation Dub, it matches the characters so wonderfully!
Wow, and that's the "filler" set.
Speaking of Collection 4, I bought it along with the last copy of Collection 1 on Amazon (gotta get that free shipping). I'll get Collection 2 and 3 at a later date. Hopefully not too late that it goes out of print.
These won't go out of print, not for a very long time. These will probably be the standard sets we'll see for the foreseeable future.

If this indeed true then we need a sexually suggestive pic of nami and robin on the next covers (kidding of course)
The sets are selling, and that's what we should be glad for:)

Does anyone know the best place to get One Piece Season 2 (All voyages) not the collections in the UK? (All I can find is voyage 1 for £15, I can't see any others.) I bought season 1 a long time ago but stopped because my money had to go on figures :)
Also does anyone know whats happening with the voyage sets now that the collection sets are coming out? (Will they stop after season 3 and only do the collections?)

It looks to me like they're just rereleasing the collections to consolidate things. Once season four comes out, I bet they'll release it in voyages. I don't know if Amazon.com ships to the UK, but I know some of them are on UK Amazon. I didn't bother checking for every last one of them, but I'm sure they're on there. Here's the first voyage on UK Amazon. Keep in mind though, the fifth voyage will cost you an arm and a leg, so unless you really want consistency, I would just get the collections. At the same time, if you can't find the collections and have to import all the way from America, the cost of shipping may equal out to just buying season two fifth voyage.
Thanks, I've got the Voyages for season 1 I just think the collections look like they are a space saver and would prefer the voyages, but from trying to get the Dragon Ball movie steelbooks a while back I had a problem with one going OOP, so I think I might have to just give up on One Piece DVDs for now, untill I'm ok with getting the collections at least.
Thanks for the advice.
Now where is that collection six cover… Sanji, I hope?
I'd imagine it's him, followed by Robin, but after that…umm...villains maybe? Group shots? Collection 8 won't be anywhere near Franky's joining, or even his first appearance.
I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, but Funimation posted the Collection 4 and Collection 5 trailers on their YouTube channel.
@Zek:

The Going Merry, or possibly revisiting the Straw Hats?
Vivi? Merry? Maybe they'll get a cover.
Vivi's would make sense…if Collection 5 didn't get us out of Alabasta :P
Personally, I think the C8 cover will be a group shot - the image in the info section, actually.
I think you mean G8.
No, he means Collection 8.
Also, while this is nothing to get overexcited about (as it's not an official announcement), [Namco Bandai has filed a US trademark for a video game translated as "Pirate Warriors".

Discuss there, and of course the thread has been over that already ;)
finally got my collection 3
Hm. Normally, collection artwork is released by now.
It'll probably be the picture of Sanji from Season 1 Second Voyage.
Well, I don't even think we have a solidication for the next set yet, so I don't really see why you'd expect to see cover art.
Exactly, Collection Six doesn't even have a release date yet. So box art isn't even part of the equation right now.
Usually, when I get the newest collection from rightstuf, the cover art for the next collection is up within a week.
Hm, So maybe they're stopping their 'every other month' schedule…?
Well FUNimation just a few days ago posted on their blog a list of stuff like Fullmetal Alchemist: Sacred Star of Milos Blu-ray/DVD combo and all the other stuff coming out in April. So I'd expect cover art and a release date maybe next week.
Usually release dates for months come out the second week of every month, but since January, FUNi has been lacking hard on that.
Funimation listings for May is now out. There is no One Piece release in May.
Maybe they're just slowing it down a bit more so that they won't have to quit doing Collections until months after Season 4's release.

Or they want to squeeze the Season 3 Voyages for just a little longer.
Yeah, that's what I meant. If they go at normal speed the Collections would be done with Season 3 in only a few months. I'm thinking FUNi knows this and is trying to avoid there being too big of a gap between Collections 8 (end of Season 3) and 9.
I haven't been following the releases in a long time now. I'm guessing that haven't started the G8 and Foxy arcs correct? If so, then I haven't been lagging on the releases that for long.

They released the G8 arc last April, except for the final episode of it, which'll be included with the first installment of the Foxy arc this Summer.
Yikes. That's a huge gap there, but it's understandable. How many years until Thriller Bark I wonder.
Anyway, I'll pick up this arc. I've never seen G8 before, so this would be fun.
Well that all depends on how quickly they can get the rights! If we're super duper lucky, we could have all of CP9 done by this Winter, and Thriller Bark for next Summer.
Again, IF we're super duper lucky.
I'm a notorious optimist.
That_'s_ way too optimistic. This Winter we'd likely be 3 Voayages into the Season, and FUNi's said they wouldn't license a new season before the current one ends. Even if they did license it, it'd be impossible for them to finish that many episodes by this Winter. Assuming they stick with the schedule they established with OP, we could have Season 4 being released for about 10 months before anyone has to thing about Season 5.
What can I say, I'm a dreamer :P
Back in early January, Funi was dubbing the 200-teens. I'm not sure how quickly an episode gets dubbed, but I'd imagine they could be in the 230s or so by now, well on their way for the goal of at least having the season done for summer. I'm not sure what they mean by "won't license the next season until the current one ends," as that could mean when they finish dubbing or when they finish releasing it. Anyway, the REAL obstacle is release schedule/ format. If they were to do it in collections, and with current release trends, we can have collection 8 (season 4) in September. But, with collection 6 absent from solicitations, this is becoming less likely. Even more so if they were to go into voyages.
And again again, this is a terribly optimistic theory…no, not theory...this is me hoping with all my heart ;P
FUNimation getting Season 3 and then the first two soon after was an exception. In the future we can expect that once a season is finished getting released there will be a process of negotiations that'll take a while for the next season.
But what if they do SO WELL on season 4 that….
Ok, I'm done with my nonsense...for now :P
Well of course the better Season 4 does the more likely contracts will be in negotiations earlier.
Please buy the products people. Anyone know if funimation will release movie 8 as a bd/DVD combo?
So Funimation just got the rights to Level E. That's pretty cool.
since the dvd's are region 1, how do people outside of usa/canada support the series?????
Most DVD players are region free nowadays.
Judging by their release schedules, more and more of FUNimation's products are being released in BD/DVD combo form. It seems more likely that we could be getting that treatment, since the masters are HD.
1. I hope we get some sort of limited edition set like funi has been doing recently with other titles.
2. And if we do get the DVD/BD combo release what would that mean for the collections? Double disks or DVD only.
Just ordered Collections 1&2
Have we seen yet what actually happens when longer series have DVD/BD combos? The only one I can think of so far is Fairy Tail, and that's still far off from 26-ep sets. But yeah, those will probably switch to DVD or BD only while still having 4 disks. And that whole thing is probably what the future OP voyages will do.
