I didn't say he never got any stand alone moments, but that was pretty much the only time. I sorta count him passing a long the black out message to Gon and Killua during the York Shin stuff…but that's mostly cause his acting was amusing. But him punching Ging felt like the only time to me he wasn't just being loud without much backing. I can't recall times of him doing something awesome, then a little lame right after. But I wouldn't say we've ever soley had focus on just him for an extended period of time enough to say he's a main the way the others are...
GI has a really great concept, so props to togashi for that
but in terms of storytelling it was kind of boring
The Chimera Ant arc is still my favorite Hunter story.
I loved the villain, the new protagonists, the moral ambiguity of every player, the narration throughout the battle scenes and the interesting character development seen through almost everybody in the arc. Seriously look back to when Knuckle was first introduced. He was a jerk, but after the arc he is probably my favorite character in the entire series. I think I love the Chimera Arc so much because when first reading the series people told me to stop at Greed Island because the series becomes horrible in turn leaving me with extremely low expectations for the arc. In retrospect I think it's a shonen masterpiece.

I really love the characters and a lot of the situations in the Chimera Ant Arc, but the Greed Island concept was just awesome. I can't really pick between them.
no spoiler yet??

I always feel ppl say it went to crap at that arc because of the poor art not the story itself. If you were unlucky enough to be waiting weekly or monthly to see those crappy drawn chaps too you would've wished you stopped after Greed island too.

! Why are mind slaves portrayed with jerky movements like zombies sometimes? Unlike zombies, they have all the muscles/tendons to move normally. Unless they're fighting the needling, I don't see why they have to move like they're puppets…
Without neural coordination…they will exhibit uncoordinated fine and gross motor movements = Zombie like movement
! mmm looks like all the Lupe and Bushidora guys gave their votes to Terradin. and with the bottom 8 elimated and their votes freed up, things should get interesting now
! Is Ging eliminated?
! Looks like Cheadle went down to third, and M. Bison Jr. went to second. Of course, next round, unless something crazy happens (and you know it will), Pariston is a sure win.
! yea.. pariston only 40some away from a clean win so something crazy is bound to happen. Leorio's voters will probably be swayed by him to send all their votes to someone else.. maybe Morel? Plus there's all the freefloating votes from bottom 8

Is there a point to introduce a concept to the readers that they aren't meant to understand?
No, the overall concept of the game was easy to understand. It was a card game where you use a variety of offensive, trap, and defensive cards to protect yourself or take the cards of an opponent. When I say, "I don't think we were meant to fully understand the game" I mean it wasn't expected of us to learn and perfectly follow every card, counter attack, spell, and rule in the game. I don't know how it was for everyone else but I myself only had a general understanding of what those cards did, when they should be used, why, and in what situation at one point or another.
Remember when the newbies were learning that list of spell cards (4 pages long) and then they had a quiz right after for the people who said they were all done memorizing it? I didn't know the answers to any of the questions that were asked, but I didn't really care either. My mindset is that the rules of the games are more for the characters to learn rather than the readers. Maybe I got this impression because I didn't care enough about the rules of the game and just followed along. This is the reason I found the 4 pages of text card description tedious. It's not like…Yu-Gi-Oh where the the whole story (of the entire manga) is based on this card game. In that case I would say it's without question important for the readers to fully understand the card game.
I don't think that accurately answers the question though... I would say the only point and time an author would introduce a concept the readers aren't fully meant to undersand is when the overall importance of said concept isn't far reaching. The rules of the card game is just limited to this arc, besides them using one of the cards to fast travel to Kaita (sp?). I should also add this just may be me. You all might fully understand and comprehend every aspect of the game.
Can't wait must resist spoilers.
Awww shit, just looked at some of the spoiler pics.
! From the looks of it, Hisoka just slaughtered a ton of hunters, lol
! Damn Killua is cornered now
so just wondering, what does everyone think of the new hunter anime, its obviously censored, but does that ruin it? im asking a comparison between both animes, NOT manga to anime.
so far i have enjoyed it despite the censoring, and skipping of a couple scenes here and there. overall i still think its worth a watch.
any thoughts on this?

I enjoy it. In fact, the censoring is very strange in some places in comparison. Both series have their ups and downs, but this new one is far form unwatchable.
People were really butthurt over Killua's edit, but in a sick way it was still pretty disturbing act even in the way they "toned it down".
Chapter is out in Mangastream.
Lol…Panda Ging. XD
Nice. Illumi plays a hard game.
funny to see how weak the majority of hunters are compared to the mains now.
BISON'S DEAD?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Why couldn't we at least see his fight though?
Also.. I get Hisoka's strong, but how are all of these capable hunters losing like this? I mean, there's not one that has a crazy ability like the dart throwing ant, or one under crazy nen restriction?
I know we've seen a similar incident with Uvogin (I think that's his name, big guy from the phantom Troupe), but the number was far less than what we just saw here.
Were they standing and gawking at him or something?
His just too fast, too skilled, and too deceitful for the low teir hunters they sent. He most likely rated them all in the election proceedings…none in the group, except illumi and the zodiacs caught his attention.
Gaaah! C'mon next wednesday, hurry up! I feel for poor Bushidora though, he deserved more than getting offscreened.
329 gone, 330 is the next shonen jump. It's do or die togashi, well do or take another 100 chapter break.
Lol, nope just one, hahaha and panda ging. oh la la great chapter. So long Bison, you went out with a bang hahahah nope, out of frame kill. loool
These events are all developing pretty well. I enjoy the pacing. No focus on pointless battles, just two stories simultaneously impacting each other. The incompetence of each nominee will drop their votes and redirect them. Teradin will lose big time, now, and Pariston may take a hit. Now I'm waiting for Leorio to finally do something other than having punched Ging, so he can get a cut of those votes. I'm also curious as to what the other top candidates will do. If the election goes to a top 4, though, it may stand between Pariston, Cheadle, Leorio and the 4th player (maybe still Teradin, but someone else might take the spotlight).
Who's the spy that Tsubone is talking about? Or is it Hisoka? I'm kinda confused. Why were Illumi able to track down Killua?

Probably someone else, maybe great-grandpa Zoldyck.
Probably someone else, maybe great-grandpa Zoldyck.
One of the eyes watching her was Killua.
I guess Illumi was the second.
The spy in the group was the limo driver.
Also.. Lupe Fiasco is pretty demeanted. Did he expect Bison to die? It's hard to tell if he was acting.
Wow, these people must really, really hate Ging to keep Leorio in the Top 4.
Good chapter, some parts confuse me a bit guess its translation fault.I wonder if there is going be Leorio campaign.
Crazy, Lupe actually wanted to sacrifice term hunters?
LOL Gin the Panda.
I think the only thing Lupe worried about was Bushidora and ALL of the hunters being killed.
He wanted hunters killed, but he wasn't expecting ALL of them dead from the mission.
Otherwise he wouldn't be terrified about what happened.
I wonder how Killua will escape this predicament.
I hope Novu set up some portals there for escape in times like these. XD
Next Chapter Leorio punches Pariston and wins the election with 90%of the votes. Togashi enters hiatus and months later he´s found dead in front of a 100% finished DQX.
You mean 10% right ?

Looks like Hisoka may be right behind him too. (going by what Hisoka said in that panel, "nope, just one")
R.I.P Lupe and Teradin.
Edit: Biscuit "Being a good little boy wont work all the time! The ant incident is a perfect example of that. Don't forget!"
I'm wondering if that was targeted at Netero, Gon, or Paris Hilton.
@pyromonki: It's not that Hisoka is strong he's a very smart fighter
Maybe the eyes are the needle-men.
Lupe did mention a surveillance group getting killed
@pyromonki: It's not that Hisoka is strong he's a very smart fighter
Hisoka is strong and smart.
I would even say he is a genius at fighting and battle tactics.

Strong or not, you don't particularly have to be strong to slice people apart with razor sharp playing cards; just be smart and have quick reflexes. He seems well-toned, though, so I'm sure he's physically strong, too.

Wasn't he the 4th strongest Geni Ryodan member in terms of physical strength?

You said he wasn't, just corrected that statement. He is indeed strong and you can't deny him that.
As for strong or not, you don't particularly have to be strong to slice people apart with razor sharp playing cards statement, strength is not measured only in those terms, intelligence and agility are part of strength as well. Just clarifying this with you, you seem to have a shallow perception of strength.
