I remember back in my first year of college I had to take a musical appreciation class, my final group assignment was to analyze the role of leitmotivs in theater and movies. So we were asked to work with the musical scores of Star Wars (John Williams) and Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore). We actually did a very good job, in the end our presentation was full of movie clips explaining the use of silence and some musical pieces in the main scenes. However I ended up hating Star Wars even more (I know I'm an odd creature) than before, and became so aware of the musical pieces of the Lord of the Ring to the point I haven't watched any of the movies since then, and I used to loved the trilogy…
Sorry about my rant there... So yea, that song is a well written piece and probably in the right environment, while playing the game, it must add a lot to the emotional side and enjoyment of the game, I've never played Halo (not a gamer, not to mention it seemed a bit boring when I took a look at it) so I don't know if that song is the main theme, or simply another musical piece in a soundtrack. Again it's a good musical piece, but it's not something I would listen to.
As a side not, I haven't been listening enough to Zappa lately, that song was really good. It's not in any of the albums I have.
Seriously Hawkeye, where do you find all these super rare artists, Buckshot Le Fonque, that was really good.
