I get the feeling he thought he was high-society, but wasn't, and that was reflected in his accent and manners.
THE GODDAMN BATMAN: Arkham City
-
-
I think they also saw how boring and uninteresting he's been in other media, and went for something different. And I like it, better than anything else I've seen of him.
-
Ah finally beat Arkham City +. All that is left is Riddler stuff.
-
Completed the game for a while now and…
! As so many people said Hugo Strange ended up being entirely anticlimactic sadly enough and i wish he had something more in store. Same for Protocol 10, for something that was so hyped i expected something more then masskilling with choppers. Especially since he said stuff like he'll be extremely powerful.
! Clayface final fight was decent but felt like a regular boss fight, hell Ra's fight felt like it would be more fitting for a final fight. Well if nothing else it was at least better then Titan Joker.
! Now that i started New game+ i found Calendar man while i must've somehow missed him last playthrough, is he just a cameo or can he do some kind of event? -

! At some point after you see Calendar man when you go back to his cell there is a Two-Face grunt hanging from the roof and Calendar man is gone
! In order to see that you have to visit him on 12 different holidays, real time. The list can be found somewhere on the internet, but it's one day every month anyway.
-
Everyone! Remember to talk to Calender Man today!

Was just about to say that. Was expecting the next date to be at the weekend but it doesn't seem to be the case. Not sure what the date is. Thanks Giving?

If it's Halloween he'll discuss about the Joker leading a break out or something. Wasn't worth the time lol

Looks like it didn't trigger for me then. He just says stuff like: Will you help me give thanks this year Batman? You have much to be thankful for.
Who will give thanks this Thanksgiving? Also noticed it gives a trophy so i guess i'll keep it up.

Need some help finding Nora
! I'm pretty sure I've found the building she's in. I found the Gotham Harbor building's locked door and the Joker goon on the inside freaked out and told me there was nothing to see here.
! So I'm looking for another way in, I flip around to the back and see that there is an explodeable wall with batclaw anchor points around it. But the single boat floating in the bay can't be pulled anywhere. I've looked around (and sent remote batarangs out on my behalf) but don't find anything that I can use that can be pulled. I'm at a loss.
! When I was is Zsasz' lair I encountered a batclaw anchor with no floating device to pull (I don't know if this is a glitch or not, I ended up solving that by using the zip-line and jumping up to a pipe and hovering down, but I get the impression that it wasn't the way I was supposed to do that.I hate having to ask for help or look online, but I'm exhausted at this point and I need to finish the game soon cuz my bro will commandeer the PS3 with UNcharted tomorrow

! Use the freeze gun to create a platform, stand on it and pull yourself in.
-
! The Freeze grenades? I don't have a freeze gun yet. I just beat Freeze himself and I'm supposed to go the Steel Mill to get the cure from Harley

! Oh, yeah, I meant the grenades. Toss one of those in the water and stand on the platform.
-
Thanks, I'll try it out later ^_^

! No worries, you aren't even supposed to know that you can do that with the grenades yet, you learn that in the Steel Mill. And also, I mixed up the electric gun with the freeze grenades, that why I said freeze gun. Sorry about that.
-
Nightwing GET! God, he's fast! But really.. his batarangs are called "wing dings"? I see what you did there.
-
Still don't know if I should buy this or AC Revelations after hearing all the good things about this game…
-
Finished the game couple days ago. The story was a bit too over the top and lacked the depth it had in Asylum, especially missing those Scarecrow scenes. They tried to "fix" the too many hard to use gadgets problem in Asylum by adding more useless gadgets though it is easier to use them in a fight. The open gameplay was, of course, great but other than that it wasn't better than Asylum in any way I could see. Still an awesome and worthwhile game though.
-
The ending was better.
-
The ending was better.
Not… really...
! Shock and disbelief at the Joker's death doesn't mean it was a good ending.
-
Not… really...
! Shock and disbelief at the Joker's death doesn't mean it was a good ending.
! How is it a bad ending then? AAs ending was just "we beat the bad guy and let's go home" not that there's anything wrong with that, AC ended it with an very well executed Joker death, the next game will point out wether they can actually handle that decision or not.
-
AC ending was much better (IMO), because
! The Joker's death was handled really, really well. I was surprised they killed him, considering they said they're planning on working on a third game and I figured he'd play a role in it somehow… but it wasn't the surprise that made me like it. It was just done really well, with Joker's last words (perfect), Batman carrying him out and not saying word, and that last voicemail that serves as a bittersweet goodbye.
! As compared to Asylum, where Batman did a sweet Limit Break and Joker took 999 damage and Batman decided to call it a day, shut the Asylum down, point fingers at Sharp, and then unplug his USB without safely removing it to add to his awesomeness. -
This game is so much better than Asylum it isn't even funny.
-
Yeah, the ending was LEAGUES better than the prior one. The last one, as good as it was, really did just feel like it was "Day saved guys, who's up for ice cream back in Gotham?" it was a typical "Good guy beat bad guy" ending.
This one had some more depth, I enjoyed it immeasurably more.
-
This game is so much better than Asylum it isn't even funny.
And why's that? They're pretty much the same game, I actually feel Asylum had better direction.
-
I could have done without 20 minutes of largely silent slowcrawling credits. Especially at 3:15 am.
-
And why's that? They're pretty much the same game, I actually feel Asylum had better direction.
The boss battles, especially the final one, were too easy in Asylum. I was actually challenged in City. Fries and Ra's especially.
The Riddler challenges felt more structured in City. Having Riddler be an actual physical threat in the city and having the getting of the trophies actually contribute to that story helped me want to getthem, Vs. Asylum where they were just a neat extra that were there to get.
And the Freedom of Arkham City is also better. It was much easier to navigate through it and the landmarks were easier to remember. I got lost in Asylum whenever I had to back track for anything ,especially on my Riddler trophy hunt. I've yet to get lost in City.
-
Workin' on them Riddler challenges… I like the interview tapes. The idea of Hugo Strange interviewing Joker is awesome.
-
I disagree about the City, actually. While giving the players more room to explore I felt a lot of it was just wasted space, but at the same time Asylum was too claustrophobic. I felt the city could have been better if they lowered its scale significantly and made the locations left more engaging. Thankfully the city wasn't big enough to make getting to the next objective too tiresome like in other open world games such as Red Dead Redemption and inFAMOUS.
-
Thankfully the city wasn't big enough to make getting to the next objective too tiresome like in other open world games such as Red Dead Redemption and inFAMOUS.
Red Dead Redemption had a camp-fire and station coach fast travel system. inFamous had effortless rail-grinding and static gliding. Arkham City has the grapple/glide combo which makes getting around a breeze. Not sure what's tiresome about any of that.
-
I would hardly call inFAMOUS' means of travel "effortless." Furthermore the camp-fire and other means of instant travel in RDR doesn't count towards what I was saying as that isn't traveling at all.
-
in Arkham City, travel becomes easy once you get the Grapnel Boost. That's why I reccomend everyone who plays does the AR Training right off the bat.
It's when I'm Catwoman that I hate getting around… but I meant specifically that there were landmarks that I could use to easily remember where everything was. The big Ferris Wheel is what I use to know I'm headed for the steel Mill, the cathedral is around the middle, the courthouse, the museum, etc. I've yet to get lost in the city going "Well, how the hell do I get THERE?!" Whereas that happened a few times to be in Asylum.
The only thing I say Asylum did better than City is the wierd "Stoned Batman" sequences. AC had a couple of really cool ones
! Ra's and Hatter
But that was it, whereas Asylum had tons of Scarecrow -
Let's just agree to disagree, cause this is going no where.
-
Haters gonna ha- is shot
-
Oh believe me, it's no hate. I loved the game just like I did the first one, I just can't agree with the notion it is better than the first one.
-
I've been avoiding this thread until I got the game and now that I do I have to ask:
! How the hell did I not hear about punching sharks? That should be something on the box! "Amazing! says Reviewer A, 10/10 says Reviewer B, You beat the fcking sht out of a shark! says Reviewer C"
Also: whoever came up with beat downs deserves a raise. -
http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/11/15/batman-arkham-city-big-head-mode
Big heads in Arkham City anyone? I loled at this
-
That is far more entertaining than it should be!
-
Just the motivation I needed to go do more Riddles.
-
I'm Platman .
-
Damn Greg, you're becoming quite the platinum trophy aficionado. Last I looked you had like… 6, now you got 20!
Also, that cheat in the game isn't a Big Head mode as it is a Chibi mode. Heads, hands, and feet all grow in size. All characters suddenly being chibis adds a whole nother charm to the game.
-
Quick question: do the completion of the riddler challenge's carry over because I've completed everyone except the one where you have to hit an explosive object before it get's thrown and since enemies aren't respawing in locations where there are fire extinguishers this makes the completion of this final challenge doubtful and I'd really hate to do all of them over again.
-
They only carry over to New Game+.

Thanksgiving is indeed November 24th.

It is this year, but it's different every year. It's the last Thursday of the month.
