my reaction when I saw this earlier
oh and here is IGN link http://games.ign.com/articles/121/1210615p1.html
seeing the logo makes me think it will be Las Vegas (Las Venturas) based because that is a money-like font. I hope it will be in San Andreas.
-
Can't wait to see the trailer!!!
-
interesting
I just really hope they'll go back to their roots and make this game based on completely over-the-top action with dark and silly humor, you know, like Saints Row, just less retarded and likeable. I liked GTA IV, spend a lot of time on it, but It just didn't feel right.
Probably not, but a man can dream. -
I hope we will be back in San Andreas that was my favorite GTA game ever
-
That's a spiffy logo.
-
The theories based on that logo are crazy man.
-
-
fuck yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
-
The theories based on that logo are crazy man.
Agreed. They shouldn't be that insane. The fact that the font of the V roman numeral is a Money font narrows down the possibilities largely.
-
I don't Rockstar has ever done a GTA game set in the 70s. I hope they do it with this game.
-

Do you mind giving some examples? I need a good laugh ;)

Just the first one is the best, but I bet there are worse ones.
-

Not really. Every GTA game sort of revolves around money by the end.
-
The weirdest one of heard of was in gamespot where some one wrote " the V is for five dollars, Lincoln is on the 5 dollar bill, Lincoln was from Illinois, the game takes place in Chicago." i para phrased but that's the gist of it.
-
My first thought when I saw the logo was Washington D.C. xD
Vegas makes more sense.
-
Sweet. I hope we get a PC release, even if its a little later. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Red Dead.
-
Rockstar implies that it's not technically possible to release Red Dead for PC. By which they mean that they're too lazy to optimize it.
-
hope to see some awesome new features in this one.
gta 4 was insanely fun -
If Rockstar can go back to the days of GTA 3 to San Andreas then yay. If it's another L.A Noire or GTA IV then I won't have anything to do with it (until it's at a largely discounted price pre-owned like Red Dead Redemption is.)
-
What is everyone's problem with GTAIV?
-
I liked GTA IV, really don't see anything wrong with it.
But I digress… working at a videogame store for some time has taught me some things...
...and one of those things is that if Rockstar went back to San Andreas, they'd make a metric ocean of cash off of this installment.
Not cause I want them to... no.... but since a large portion of my customers ask for, want, seem to think the game exists on a different system... or simply ask for GTAIV by calling it "San Andreas on the 360"

I'm honestly surprised they haven't 'HD' re-released those three on the new consoles by now. I was talking to someone the other day and he was sure it was out on the 360 and PS3
-
Don't know why either. Although if anyone can wait and not suffer much loss in sales on an HD re-release… it's Rockstar.
The moment they release it like that, boom, money eruption.
I always said how great it would be to see GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas... remastered for high-def and on one disc.
-
I don't have a problem with GTAIV. On it's own it's a good title, but what it lacked was qualities that made it a full GTA game that's worth the full price. While playing it, it seemed like the game focused a bit too much on realism in favor of complete freedom. In Vice City and San Andreas, I would spend hours ignoring the story and doing things no man in real life can do. IV, while it did have some freedom, it felt like bare bones compared to previous GTA titles.
In a way I can understand this to some extent. There's has been numerous attempts at sandbox games, especially in this generation. Many are successful and focuses on themes and settings an audience can relate to. I suppose Rockstar wanted to branch off and make GTA into this thing where the player can relate to a character that can't do any more than what a regular human in his position can do. While it was an understandable change, it's not what I go out and buy a GTA game for.
But maybe now, things can go back to their old roots. Rockstar has produced quite a few interesting titles that use to GTA sandbox formula, so there's revenue for something realistic or "artsy".

You do know that Atlantic City NJ is another place synonymous with gambling right?

Don't know why they'd make an HD collection of the last 3 games considering Vice City & III haven't really aged well. That and I see them putting them on the PSN the same way they did with San Andreas on the XBOX 360.

What is everyone's problem with GTAIV?
One of the last missions, the one with bogus helicopter controls (on pc):ninja:.
Well in all seriousness, for me gtaIV just felt like a step back from san andreas.(I'm just not one for fancy graphics in sacrifice of gameplay)
Also there is my preference for the more silly missions in san andreas (jetpack yeah). But aside from that it's surely still phenomenal.
For me it's like what's better 2 million dollars (san andreas) or 1 million dollars (IV).
I mean yeah 2 is beter than one but frankly 1 is still fucking awesome :). -
As far as I'm concerned, Rock Star can make their games as serious as they like.
They're one of the few major company trying to push gaming narrative mechanics.
If I want old school GTA expriance I can always pick up Saints Row. -
Sometimes I feel like the only one who didn't like San Andreas all that much.I liked being able to get fat or buff and the RPG elements, but I could never get into the story or world, so I never felt motivated to beat it.
In IV I missed some of those things, but I loved everything in it and it motivated me to play through the whole game.
-
To me, GTA's current attempts an narrtatives feels like ripped off screenplay from alot of movies. Sometimes I found myself sitting there wondering what the hell half these guys Nico encounters are even talking about.
That said.. I only cared about a couple of guys. That crazy dude(you know who). And that one that lead that whole bank robbery incident. I liked them because they actually felt like characters in a GTA game. The rest were either boring mob gangsters or… more boring mobsters.
-
Honestly, I´ll never understand what exactly everybody thinks makes San Andreas great. It´s the GTA I never finished, because I just got sick of it. To me, it wasn´t fun at all - just never cared about the characters and the missions. I just didn´t feel it ..
.. but GTA IV is one of the best games I´ve ever played. And in all this serious story lines, there a shitload of funny things you can do or find. Spent so many hours in multiplayer too and I laughed a lot through the entire game.
I really hope it´s going to be something like that again, but I somehow think it could be San Andreas-related. But I could live with that.

In San Andreas I would take a pedal bike up to the highest mountain and jump off it to see if I can survive.
Why?
Because I can.
In San Andreas I would fly a jet and jump off it to see if I can land on a specific building or fall through a tiny hole.
Why?
Because I can.
In San Andreas I would waste countless of hours raking up cash to buy a house or mansion in some location.
Why?
Because I can. And because it actually feels rewarding.
In San Andreas I would murder people by stealth knifing them in the throat at night for no real reason.
Why?
Because I can.
In San Andreas there was many fun optional things to do outside the boring collectable missions(collecting packages, killing birds, finding clams). My favorites in question were the driving/flying schools which should have been named "extreme school for the gifted" mianly because of how realistically impossible several stunts were.
If you don't understand the things that made SA enjoyable, then that's your own loss. Too me, GTAIV felt like it stripped away many MANY features that could have been easily included or vastly improved upon. I honestly felt like I was playing another game with a separate title.
(Oh yeah. I enjoyed a majority of the missions in SA better too. IV only had the bank robbery)

Also adding to that
Taking/stealing any random (or car you were looking for) car off the street and taking it to the Pimpout garages and pimping the car out.
Why? because I can
Spawn a Rhino and start blowing the f**k out of cars and watch the cops run into it and blow themselves up. (the cop part applies only if you don't activate the no wanted level code)
Why? Because I can.
-
You could spawn stuff and do no wanted level and a bunch of other stuff in IV. It was even easier on PC.
-
I think I spent more hours in SA multiplayer stealing the train, driving it around until it derails than I did playing GTA IV XD
-
I liked the police, fire, and taxi missions in San Andreas. I liked after I finished the fire missions that I was immune to fire.
-
I like that one cheat code in where you can KO and send civilians flying with a single punch.
And the one that turns (almost)any vehicle into a hovercraft akin to Back to the Future (then taking off the code in the air at top speed to see where you crash)And oh.
Looking for Bigfoot.
Oh. He didn't exist. But the subculture surrounding it was amusing to say the least. -

There are showing the first GTA 5 trailer today here is the link for it. 4 hours to go.
-
aaaaaannndddd the trailer is out. I'm currently shitting my pants. we're going back home folks. :]
c](http://www.rockstargames.com/videos/video/8001)an i just say that I miss this so fucking much. oh my god. D: <333
-
YESSSSSS SAN ANDREAS IS BACK!!!!!!!!!
I just came and sh** my pants
-
So let me be the first to say on here that; PLANES ARE BACK.
((And with a vengeance I might add.))There's also some Blimps, Helicopters, Jet Ski's and new cars which are always nice.
There are Animals. (( In the first 5 seconds of the trailer. there's a dog. I'm betting that there will be cats as well. ))
A wide variety of NPC's this time around will make you feel like you're really there.
There's a scene with a NPC woman crossing the street, she has a tattoo and it leads me to believe tyhat Character customization has indeed returned. (( it IS hollywood after all.)) there's also a very short scene with a woman walking down the "boardwalk" there's an Iron man work out Gym. Another hint that CC RPG might be back as well.
Also the man in the middle of the trailer is most likely our Main Character. Sounds like a likable guy.
He said something about how he "bought" a big house. And then later in the trailer an NPC put up a for-sale sign. Do think that maybe there's a market now? Where you can buy and sell shit? I would hope so. That would actually give money a lot more meaning.
We dont' know if it's Just Vinewood or all of San Andreas, and the only thing that would make me think it's more then Just Vine wood would be the very short mountain hiking scene
From just this trailer we didn't get a lot of information that was direct, but if you go back and look at all these things I talked about, I think Rockstar showed us that they listened to our complaints for the last two years, and they've put in a LOT of fucking work.
Also, I guess this doesn't really clear up any next gen console issues yet, but if they have ingame footage like they just showed us, I bet it does indeed come out next fall.
-
Despite me saying I didn't really like SA originally, I'm pretty excited for this. Maybe I'll enjoy it more without CJ and his gangsta pals, which was my main complaint (The characters, to be exact). It definitely looks good. The protagonist (If the narrator is him, and not just a red herring. But that seems unlikely) seems likable enough. I hope all of the RPG elements from SA return. It also seems like buying houses returns.
I don't see why it wouldn't be all of San Andreas.
-
Part of me wants to say "OF COURSE" it's all of San Andreas, but another part of me wants to say "nah it's just Vinewood."
This will all be cleared up when we get the second trailer when ever that is. because if it's all of San Andreas I bet they'd dot he trailer from each city.
(( btw this is all complete speculation. lololol)) -
http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1211341p1.html
Confirmed as San Andreas and all of it's glorious glory (Not just Las Santos)
Having planes back is awesome. Look's like, by the trailer any way, that some new features will include Jetskis, Blimps, and dogs.
Get's PS2 out Opens disk drive Places San Andreas in Time to play some San Andreas now this has me super hyped
-
Nice to see San Andreas is returning.
-
Fuck Yes can't wait for this.
-
Awwww yeeeaaah! This is going to be fucking amazing.
-
Suburbs are back!
Suburbs are back!!
I really hope the mian character has a sense of who he is and where he should belong. Nico being this hard headed mofo wasn't relatable to the least.
-
If this game doesn't have Bigfoot and aliens, I will be a bit sad.
-
I won't be surprised if they did put Bigfoot(or some some guy living in the mountians making a hoax). That would be an excellent homage to the popular rumor actually.
