This is pretty neat.
I like the ending, even though it's a bit too fast.

I like this opening and was a bit dissapointed. Maybe I was expecting too much.

I love it. Great work!
From that video I just noticed that the subtitles at the bottom for the "We Go!" kanji lyrics aren't on the FUNi simulcast version. It must be a FujiTV thing that they themselves put in I guess.
Has anyone removed the audio track and done a TV-Size MP3 yet?…

This is nothing new; it has been this way since the beginning of the simulcast. FUNi receives versions of the openings without the Kanji at the bottom so they can add their own translated lyrics instead.
Very good.
The animation quality looks better.
Hrm, I'm not the biggest fan of the opening. It isn't bad, but it isn't great either.

Thanks, I guess I just never noticed :P

You mean a 1:30 version (or more like 1:50 in this case with the opening narration)?
No, there are MP3 out there of the song but they contain the Gold Roger and Narrator audio. I'm sure the only time we'll get an audio-less (?) version is after someone rips the the full version from the single.
I did this out of boredom and impatience for the next episode.
This opening is the only song (out of all openings, endings, and character songs) that connects lines using a specific hiragana character, like going from 同じ~(onaji…), holding that last note, and skipping on to っと出来ない (-ttodekinai). It's also the only one so far that uses a smiley (・∀・) in its lyrics.
I believe that it'll go among those openings that needed corrections after the first few airs. No way that Toei will leave "Usoppu" in there. hopes for revision to "Usopp'n"

Usopp'n? Are you kidding? That's how Heracles calls him, but his name is Usopp, as Oda said. The pronunciation is different, I know, but the name is Usopp.
I actually think Usoppu sounds awesome… ^^
Usopp'n is awesome. Way better than Usoppu.
The more than likely will keep it for "We Go!"'s run. I don't see why they would go back and change animation for something that lasts only half a second anyway. The Japanese pronunciation is "Usoppu" even if his romanized name is "Usopp". It's not entirely wrong. Then again of that was the case they would have "Furanky" and "Barooku" in there as well. Even so though I don't think they will change it.
Look, in this One Piece Gigant Battle trailer it's spelt Usopp.
My guess it was two totally different guys working on the animation for the Gigant Battle 2 animation and the "We Go!" animation. And the guy animating "We Go!" probably thought (based on pronunciation) that is was "Usoppu". I mean before Oda-sensei spelled it in English, Toei put "Usoppu" on everything. I bought an Usopp & Chopper action figure from an import store some years back and on the box it said "Usoppu".

Very cool! Easily the best "replace music and time the footage to the new song" AMV I've seen!

Actually, there were small mistakes in Openings 6 and 14. If you compare the first episode with each to later episodes featuring the same openings, there's a slight difference.
In Opening 6, before the crew see Marine ships arriving, there's a moment when Sanji doesn't move. He reverts to his love sickness after corrections.
In Opening 14, during the flashes through Luffy's memories of Marineford, the appearance of the faded straw hat isn't done as well as later views have.
So, yeah, they could change that quickly, given how obvious it looks.
BTW, Brook's name in katakana is ブルック (burukku). It'd look even weirder if they followed the romaji spellings.
Unfortunately, "Usoppu" wasn't fixed in this week's episode.
We can wait for a few more episodes before coming to a conclusion. We can also wait 30+ episodes before saying that the eyecatchers won't change. I recall for quite some time, Luffy's animated eyecatcher stayed on until there were eyecatchers for the rest of the crew.
Let me be the first to say, in this thread, that the new changes to Opening 15 WERE PHENOMENAL!
I didn't care much for the battlescenes - they felt as if too much content had been squashed into too few seconds - but I loved Roger. I hated how he got the non-shaded, non-animated treatment. This looks way better. (Sadly, the skull on the flag that follows looks horribly ugly in comparison now).
The fighting scenes are very cool but… UsoppU. Come on, can't you delete one letter?

He was always shaded…
I noticed also that young Roger's mouth is now closed instead of open like in the flashback panel.
I already like this opening, now it's even better.
I realized Sanji kicked the air and flew up after hit the giant. Awesome!
Right. The barest minimum of shading that shows for a full 5 seconds with zero animation. The hair has zero shading, it is just a flat color. Looking at something like that which does not move for that long really brings out the 'ew ugly' vibe. Now that there is some proper shading, it is at least bearable to watch it.
Nice catch on the closed mouth though. That's definitely an improvement - suits Roger more. (Although the open smile had a more youthful look to it: less calculated, more exhilerated.)
I don't understand why "Usoppu" is still there…
I mean, I never expected them to update the animation for that, so I just assumed that was an error we were stuck with, but now that they've modified the animation ANYWAY with other elements, I don't get why they couldn't go back and just black out that U...
Meanwhile in Toei…
"Get rid of that U letter on Ussop's name in the opening"
"Okay... reads Usso- he must be crazy, it'll make no sense"
Opening updated
"I SAID TO GET RID OF THAT U"

Black hair is pretty much always just kept black, especially if the character's a guy. Look at Luffy's hair, or even how Sanji's suit is just one flat color of black.
You know I watched STRONG WORLD again over the weekend. And in the scene showing each crew member and their bounty, they spell it "Usopp".
I figure it's because the moment's too short for Toei to give a careful inspection of it, as in they just don't care. We can give them a few more episodes and see if they try anything else, otherwise it's stuck like that.
I will miss you in the openings, pre-timeskip Straw Hats… At least they are flashbacks in the story.
I realized Sanji kicked the air and flew up after hit the giant. Awesome!
Something like Geppo?
Honestly I don't really notice the "Usoppu" in the episode. I'm too busy reading the English-translated lyrics at the bottom of the screen to notice it. The first night the Opening premiered I didn't notice at all. It wasn't until I saw the HD version posted here with no lyrics that I noticed.

@Romance Dawn:
We need to use spoiler tags for spoilers. There are some anime-only viewers here. So speegyg, if you don't read the manga then please just forget about the 'Geppou' thing.

The guy was active in the Next Nakamate Thread a short moment ago. Did you really not know, or are you playing?
In Share the World, they spell USOPP too. It's just sad to see the level of laziness they have got into!
I mean, even I could cut that U out :/

Well it's in the opening now, people are going to dissect and notice. Just as much as Choppers new transformation, if you watched it you watched it. No need for spoiler tags.

I don't browse that thread regularly so no I didn't know.
Doesn't the single come out this week?
Black hair is pretty much always just kept black, especially if the character's a guy. Look at Luffy's hair, or even how Sanji's suit is just one flat color of black.
And how often do those A) stand unanimated and unmoving for 5 seconds, and B) are actually drawn a dirty dark grey (making it feel like a bad scan with lack of saturation), and C) on top of a pitch black background?
Seperately, none of those things is too horrible (although A remains a point of sadness). But if you throw a guy with black hair on a pitch black background, you need to give the hair due attention, especially given the plentiful amount Roger has of it. There's no outlines on the hair. The skin is shaded, but the hair is not at the sameish places… which matters since like this the moustache literally blends in with the rest of the hair.
Anyhow, I'm done fighting this. If you feel it was okay how it was, all the power to you. I am happy they put the new one in as it was definitely the part of the opening needing work the most. :)

You only know stuff in the opening is a spoiler in hindsight. Manga-readers know it because they read it in the manga, and anime-viewers because all the manga-readers flip their scheisse about all the 'spoilers'. Here's a spoiler for you, the Sunny made a 'double-jump' in the opening, so I guess they spoiled that ability as well. Oh, you mean that was just the opening taking liberties? Right, same idea. You don't know that if you just watch the anime. So spoiler-tags make sense.
I already liked opening, the added part was good bonus.

It was there front and center in the opening. If you saw it you saw it, i'm not putting it in spoiler tags since it happened in the very opening the topic is discussing.

My whole point was that it is not always obvious what parts are spoilers and what parts are liberties the anime takes. Whether it is front and center in there does not make a difference.
Still, I didn't say what it was exactly I simply described what was on screen. I said Sanji kicked the air and left it at that. Anyone else who spotted it could deduce the same thing. I didn't reveal names or characters in the slightest. Now if other people happen to go "you mean like moon walk?" That's on them.
