Anime and Manga Differences
- In the manga, Rayleigh is the only one who fights the elephant. In the anime, Luffy does a quick attempt withGear Second, but fails.
- In the anime, Luffy runs with Rayleigh and promises to his crew, Ace, and Sabo that he will get stronger.
- The beginning all the Straw Hats' training is shown in the anime with We Are! playing as background music.
Trivia
- The ending which usually says "To Be Continued", this time says "Go To New World".
- The way each Straw hat looked in the recap at the end of the episode, was similar to how they looked in the cover of chapter 516.
- This is the last episode in the first half of the series.
Was this needed? This is all obvious trivia.

Was this needed? This is all obvious trivia.
It contributes possible discussion points as a well as neat information to those who may be unaware.
-
Stuff like that We Are! montage gets me pumped! Especially loved seeing Sanji going into Diable Jambe instantly in it.
-
One coincidental piece of trivia I noticed was that the shot of Nami walking towards the edge of Weatheria and looking in the distance reminded me a lot of her at the end of Ending 5.
-
One thing I didnt particularly like was Robin's part. Would've been better if it had shown her ship is arriving at Baltigo with Dragon standing.
-
The lack of portrayal of what Robin did has to be a plot point later on, or else you'd imagine Oda/Toei would show something…

Well, Toei's been showing extra spices here n there about their training without revealing anything much. Same can be done with Robin, just showing her boat arriving at an island with Dragon just standing there would've been cool, without revealing any thing much.
Anyway, it doesnt have anything to do with plot points, I guess they just didnt thought of doing the scene that way
-
One thing I want to add s well… I really loved the Jinbei scene where Luffy said to him, show me your face
16 characters of so much this.

Chapter 516's Cover page in Anime episode 516? That's actually pretty awesome.
-

I completely agree. They did what they could with Nami's part, but yeah Robin could have used that. She didn't even have to physically see Dragon, it could just show the idea of him in the distance/in the fog waiting for her, metaphorically.
I still liked the scene because it had a certain… ehhhm... I don't know the word honestly, reminiscence I guess, feeling about it. But showing that I feel would've made it better.
Would've made Robin's goal clearer too; some people who've read the manga up to date still don't know what she necessarily did for those 2 years, though that will be elaborated on.And wow at 516's cover being used on 516. That's quite praiseworthy, and a little too much to be a coincidence to me.

You know'd be funny if the next episode didn't come out for 2 years.
-
What's funny is that in the anime it actually has been two years since the separation, since it happened on June 14, 2009.

It was a bunch closer for the manga, they separated September 2008 and came back September 2010(well actually more like the first week of October because we get it a week early than official release).

did the flashback of the history of Luffy's hat has been shown in the anime?

Do you mean that moment when Rayleigh revealed who it belonged to? No, that will come in a few episodes.

if for some unknown paradox related reason and what you say actually comes true, I will find you and i will murder you personnaly
-
Why don't you send him to the next dimension?
-
I just noticed the first Straw Hat shots of the We Are! song were from the chapter 516 color spread :) A nice touch.
