Soo… in the end I didn't buy Grandia. There was not enough money left. I bought Tekken2, Crash Bandicoot 1 (I got 2 and 3 via.. uhm.. let's say for free :ninja:) and.. another game which I'm too embarassed to admit that I bought it :ninja:
I'll make sure to get it next months, tho.

Just a PS3 earlier this week, was on special and I just got some money for my birthday and thought "why not?".
Just finished playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, was a really great game, lots of fun, loved the gameplay and the characters.
The setting did get a bit boring near the end and those creatures are very annoying to kill.
I played it on easy and died quite a few times, it wasn't an easy game to complete.
Really looking forward to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I've heard it is better than the 1st in every way.
Also, being new to the PS3 I was wondering what are the best games to get?
-
What kind of games do you like?

-Folklore
-Overlord 1 + 2

-Shadow of the Damned
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma
-God of War 3
-Enslaved
-Darksider
-Dante's InfernoI'm not really into first person shooters myself.. So i can't really help you with that.
I heard Killzone and Vanquished are amazing. -
Metal Gear Solid 4..

I heard Killzone and Vanquished are amazing.Vanquish is a TPS.
-Enslaved
-Dante's InfernoAre you sure these are great games?
-
I thought Dante's Inferno was a quite good game myself. A bit short tho. Was a lot better than God of War 1, 2 and 3 at least.
Nier is the only PS3 game I bought that has made a huge lasting impression on me. I suggest if you like RPGs/JRPGs to get that. I picked it up for a fiver new at Christmas Time. You can probably get it for dirt cheap everywhere else now. Most of the others I've owned were good for the time I played but after that just forgot all about them. Arkham Asylum, Disgaea 3 and 3D Dot Game Heroes were excellent too.
-
Are you sure these are great games?
Didn't play enslaved that long. But i liked what i played.
I absolutely love Dante's Inferno. Never got all the negativity.I could also add Castlevania to that list.
And i need to pickup Nier at some point.

Ugh. Having problems with PSN Store. Dunno if anyone else has. Paid for Back to The Future episodes 1-5 back in March. Only found out that Episode 5 was put up almost a month ago on the PSN Store. So I was all happy and went to download it. Click on episode 5. 'This content cannot be accessed on your account.' so I'm like 0.o so I double-checked to make sure that the receipt for 1-5 is in the downloads. Yup. All fine. Still won't allow me.
Having to send a email to Sony requesting them to look into it >.< I barely use the PSN or the Store anyways. Gonna be so annoyed if they screwed up the one thing I DO use it for.
-
Today Sony has retired the "It Only Does Everything" marketing campaign, replacing it with "Long Live Play."
-
I don't know if anyone mentioned this but on PSN you can now purchase classic '90s Nickelodeon episodes.
The shows they have as of now are:
Angry Beavers
Clarissa Explains It All
Doug
Hey Arnold!
Hey Dude
Kenan & Kel
Rocket Power
Rugrats
Rocko's Modern Life
and
Salute Your ShortsEach episode is around $0.99
I may get a few.
They also have a few more shows you can find like
AAAHH!!!! Real Monsters
The Amanda Show
Ren & Stimpy
and
The Wild ThornberrysBut those episodes cost $1.99

I know you're thinking about Uncharted 2, definitely get it. Not only is the story really good but the multi-player is surprisingly good as well. I also recommend the God of War series (Both the Collection of 1 & 2 and Also God of War 3) IMO, it's a must get. Also No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise, I don't believe it was banned in Australia, but it could be because of the blood, so if you can get it I'd suggest checking it out. As for FPS games 2 other games I'd suggest are Portal 2 and The Orange Box for PS3 (The Orange Box is a really rare find though). Other FPS ones are of course the call of duty games like World at War or Modern Warfare 1 or 2, but Black Ops may or may not be worth getting. If you have any slight interest in racing games you should look into Gran Turismo 5.

99 cents for 10+ year old tv show episodes. WHAT A DEAL!

Well to some people it's worth it, to others it's not. It depends on the person. A few of the show would be worth it for me since they're not easy to find anymore (like Angry Beavers, Rocko, or Salute Your Shorts), but some other shows I could care less about (Like Hey Dude and Rocket Power).

Strange.. i got Spyro 2,Sonic 1 and Oddworld for free with plus 3-4 months ago.. but now it says the games are expired yet i have a standing account..

are some Plus game downloads only go playable for a limited amount of time?Free games gotten with Plus can only be played when you have Plus. DLC, Themes, and Avatars are the only things you can keep using as a non-Plus member.

Hey thanks for the recommendations, I have got Uncharted 2 and just started it, only played like 40 minutes or so, but really liking it so far, the opening part is pretty intense when you are climbing up the train and it's falling to pieces as you're going up it.
I was also looking at Red Dead Redemption, but apparently there will be a game of the year edition of it coming out soon, so I will probably just wait for that, cause I want all the DLC with it, especially Undead Nightmare.
Also gotta get Batman: Arkham City when it comes out.
TOO MANY GAMES, NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY…

sounds like the same as the 3ds' battery
-
Lol my mp3 player has 103 hours of music playback and like 500 hours of standby time.
Your MP3 player performs a function that can be handled by a ten year old processor with little powerdraw. Vita/3DS is state of the art kit having to contend with a battery industry whose progress is turgid in comparison to the microchip indutry.
-
Please tell me then why the PSVita can't even have decent battery life playing music.
-
Because it's a side function that doesn't sell the device and thus they can't be bothered spending valuable time optimising the software and turning off unused hardware.
-
Just how often are you actually out and about playing a portable gaming system during the day? Are you on the bus for 5 hours at a time? Are you dropping a child off at a daycare where it will be their main form of entertainment for the entirety of the day? Are you ignoring all of your classes at school? is it too much of a hassle to just plug it into the wall after you get home?
Long as it can do 2-3 hours it covers most people's daily needs easily. Up to 5 is well past casual use, I can go a week without charging it and it'd still cover my average commute the whole time.
If I planned on doing an extended gaming session, it'd be at home with it plugged in anyway. Or on a real system.

For kids, it may be those long road trips.

Car charger sold separately.

Weird… Anyway, you can play PS3 games straight on the Vita AND the Vita can double as a PS3 controller.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Sixth article down for proof.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Andriasang:
Two PS3 to PS Vita connectivity features in particular stood out. Vita will be able act as a Remote Play device for PS3. You'll be able to play full PS3 games through your Vita.
Yoshida showed a demonstration video of Killzone 3 being played remotely. Visit 4Gamer for a video clip. 4Gamer notes that the button count discrepancy between the PS3 and Vita is dealt with through the system's rear touch panel.
Sony also showed how the Vita can be used as a controller for the PS3. The reason you might want to do this is because your PS3 games would have access to the Vita's touch panels.Yeah, I'm really digging this functionality.
-
Remote play for the PS3? Sounds good to me. Just one more reason for me to pick this up.
-
So this is bascially going to be like WiiU?
-
How would remote play work? Because when I heard about something like that at e3, I was under the impression you needed a copy of the game on both the vita and the ps3, effectively meaning you'd buy the same game twice to access the feature
-
Remote play has been around for a long time, but I didn't hear much from it after it came out.
-
Looking at what it meant for PSP, I guess its just streaming in a way similar to how wii u works, except that it can't do the different display on different screen thing, and each game has to be compatible for it to work. So it only works for some games and you can't transfer it onto the system and then play it on a car or something like that since the distance is too far unless it lets you do it over the internet
-
I don't know if it's the same connectivity as the PS3PSP or if it's a new system with the same name. I know the PSP's functionality was more limited though.

The f**k they thinking

The f**k they thinking
That they don't want people to keep suing them for a bunch of shit, legitimate complaints or not.

Oh they mean only gamers that are suing them?
-
-
This is already in effect as of yesterday. In order to sign into the PSN you had to accept a new ToS with that in it. You can still sue Sony, but you have to settle it with them. No classy-action, no court.
-
More or less .
Oh never mind then disregard the "The f**k they thinking?" post then I misunderstood the post
-
Well sony just made me buy a Vita/PSP, new Suikoden announced for the PSP.
Anime opening trailer
-
I don't know if it's the same connectivity as the PS3PSP or if it's a new system with the same name. I know the PSP's functionality was more limited though.
That's why I'm not too exited over the idea. While it sounds cool, support and accessibility is needed.
The last time I heard about Remote Play was around the PS3 lauch peroid. Someone posted a vid with himself playing Lair on the PSP… well just to show how the game could have played if it was released without exclusive Sixaxis support (still a bad game tho)
-
Looks like there's gonna be a new Little King's Story but for Vita this time.
-
Some themes you might like including one piece themes.
http://www.ps3-themes.com/x/dynamic-themes/page/2 Some of the themes are explicit so be careful when going through the categories. Its pretty obvious which ones will be inappropriate from this site though by looking at the clearly marked sections.Though to be honest the psn store has loads of cool dynamic themes that have been released. I must have downloaded at least 7 this week.
