I don't think we'll get ALL the episodes (maybe to the end of Thriller Bark) but the movies, however, I could see happening seeing as other countries have been getting all the movies as of late.

Well, some of the new properties FUNimation obtained have been leaked. This doesn't mean anything about One Piece yet, but they're B Gata H Kei and Cat Planet Cuties.

I'm not really expecting to get any news about Season 4 tonight.
Though putting the survey out IS a good sign, it just doesn't mean news is forthcoming.
While it would be great to know how far along they are in negotiations, how close they are, etc, companies simply don't reveal info like that, in most cases, so we'll just have to remain patient.

Although, I have to admit there seemed to be quite a few title acquisitions this time around. It wasn't anything that I've heard of (and probably nothing I'll ever be interested in), but that's neat. Better than a panel where like nothing gets announced at all.

In terms of anime licensing, nothing is impossible. FUNimation nowadays seems to be giving fans a major announcement a week before a convention. With AX, SDCC and Otakon so close together this year, things are going to get interesting.

Its not that FUNimation doesn't want to tell us, its That they most likely can't.
They have ti sign a contract with Toei for more episodes, until all the legal i's are dotted and t's are crossed, they wont be allowed to say anything.

That's simply not the way companies work. I'm sure there are a lot of fans of the show that work on it on FUNi's staff that would love to say something if they could. But FUNimation, as a company, simply cannot promise anything until a contract is signed. Normally this means they are entirely hush-hush about all the details. The most they could tell us is that it's something they want to do and that they're working on it, which they already have. We likely won't get another update until it's all entirely finalized, whenever that will be.
It's easy to sit here as fans and be impatient and think that 'it's no big deal' if they just give us a BIT more info. But it is a big deal, FUNimation can't promise anything more than they already have, because it's too easy for these talks to break down. They can't promise something they might not be able to deliver, it's incredibly bad PR.
It might sound a bit harsh, but it's better for them not to give us more info than they have, than promise something that might not come to fruition. It's less damaging to them in the long run. Sucks for us? Yup. But it's something we're all going to have to accept, along with the fact that FUNimation isn't some big giant uncaring monolith that is withholding details to spite us.

Well, while I agree with most of what you're saying, I do think they could give us some sort of timeframe as to when to expect an announcement. Certainly they know how long these deals tend to take, and they can probably make a reasonable assumption based on the stage that they're currently on. I think they could at least say, "Expect by the end of the month, end of the year, or some time next year." Another question I would like answered is how long it'll take them to get the episodes out on dvd after they've already officially announced the acquisition. Does anyone here know how long that generally takes? An informed answer please, not reasonable assumption.
Someone mentioned a tv deal earlier. I'm actually hoping against that. Though I'd like to see One Piece on tv week to week, it would undoubtably slow down the dvd releases, leading to less episodes per year, which I would absolutely hate.

Do you really think that? We've got 205 episodes in the can, assuming we'd get one or even two or three episodes aired a week, it would still take a long time to catch up. I doubt it would lead to slowed down DVD releases since we're already so far ahead…

I hope that if Funi doesn't announce Season 4 (Not for a very long time), I hope Funi can speed up the releases of the $20 collections. Maybe a collection every month or 2?
Since all they are doing is a repackaging of the already done material.I would be excited if they did start releasing the Collections every 1.5 months or so.

I can't believe I bought all the original One Piece dvds voyages. I didn't know about the 26 episode voyages when I bought the 13 episode voyages. I started buying One Piece shows around 6 months ago. I coulda waited for these new ones if I knew at that time but nobody did at least I don't think so. Now I have to collect the 13 episodes box sets because i'm only missing one which is Season 3 voyage 5. While season 2 voyage 5 is coming to me thru mail. I ordered it on ebay cuz it was sold out almost everywhere else or it was sold out everywhere else. Thanks

Lil Kis, really? You don't have to buy these new sets, and you were at the time willing to pay what you did for the voyages. Seriously, you could just sell your voyages or trade them in on Amazon, that will make it barely a loss to get the collections if you want
