wowwo, its getting serious now, the bootleg topic is heating up!
Got a Fake Super DX Ace? Post here.

Can anyone with the picture-taking skills (the previous pics I posted where from my scanner) take some pictures of the back of the fake sticker? I mean from the latest batch–the one with the "authentic" printing on the back? From what I can tell, the printing on the back is poorer quality than a real sticker.
SakugaSaga was asking for a picture, and I have no confidence in my skills. Thus the scanner earlier. XD

Tell PA they'll be hearing from Banpresto soon. I'm sending one of my bootlegs to them with PA's details.
nice move, i don't know why they still don't admit the truth
-
I've written the letter to Banpresto in English. I just have to get Megu to translate to Japanese and we'll send both letters with the DX Ace bootleg probably on Friday. I've provided Play-Asia's contact details and a link the their DX Ace product page showing the fake figure. Let's see what happens next.

Seems I bought a fake Super DX Ace in February from the eBay seller lucky6818 and didn't even realize until now. I'm kind of scared to email him and put it on return, since he already sold me a bootleg and I have no idea if he will actually refund the money or not. Guess that's the downside of buying from eBay..

You want every forum member to mail his ebay messages? I'm sure it can be done.
Yes, ebay sucks and there is no such thing as "buyer protection". It's more like "seller protection". They protect those guys who sell the fakes.
-
@Burglar:
It's inconvenient, sure, but at least you should try, cause you have nothing to lose!
Yeah I guess. Never even sent a package before, so that's one thing to figure out beforehand lol.

I'm sure that won't be necessary, but thanks :p.
What's wrong with their buyer protection? How do they protect the bootleg sellers? That would be a real pain.

Unless the seller just gives your money back, they ask you for so much proof that the item is fake. It's really impossible to do what they ask.
Here's what they wrote to me.
To continue, we need documentation supporting your claim that the item is
not authentic. Here’s what you need to do.
1. Obtain a document from an unbiased third-party, such as a dealer,
appraiser, or an organization that is qualified in the area of the item in
question (other than you). This document should contain the following:
• Detailed description as to why the item is not authentic (i.e., how the
item differs from an authentic item, how the person evaluating the item
determined that it is not authentic, etc.).
• If possible, the document should include a serial number and must be on
letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the
authenticating party so that we can contact them directly, if necessary.2. Fax the documents to PayPal at (02) 8223-9509. Please include a cover
sheet with your fax that includes the email address registered to your
PayPal account and the ID number of your claim. That
way we can attach the documents to your claim as quickly as possible.3. We need to receive your fax by July 07, 2011 in order to proceed with
the investigation of your claim. If we don’t receive your fax by July 07,
2011, your claim will be canceled and no further action will be taken on
our part. Please note that PayPal is unable to reimburse you for any costs or fees
that may be incurred in obtaining the requested documents. Any documents
you provide may also be supplied to the seller if necessary. All this is hard for me to do since I live in Japan and I don't know any English speaking Japanese who could say the figure is fake. And I'm 100% sure nobody at paypal reads Japanese.

Posting here two authentic stickers with watermarks if anyone wants to compare it to the fake watermark. Is there anybody willing to take a picture of the fake watermark since the one provided by PA is not that great.

dint had time to post this e-maill, but i asked a european/german online shop if there ace sdx was a legit one or a bootleg one as they still had him for sale, seems they where also victim of P-A:
Hi
Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the link to myfigurecollection.com. We were not aware of the problem with Play-Asia.
Unfortunetly we had our pieces from Play-Asia, so it we also received bootlegs. We already took the item out of stock and will request a refund from Play-Asia.
We usually buy our One Piece items from three japanese wholesaler and not from HK or Play-Asia so at least this is an exceptional case.We only do business with reliable companies and did no expect that Play-Asia had such a problem. I know the guys at Play-Asia pretty well as many of them are Germans and I know they usually take good care of their suppliers. I am a bit angry because as far as I can see in the comments, Play-Asia knows about those fakes they offered but still have nopt contacted us.
We will contact all customers who bought this item and offer them a refund, Sorry to disappoint you but many thanks for sending the link.
Mit freundlichen Grüssen
Kind RegardsPhilipp Schulz

:O
What shop was that ? -
Omg, the seller I bought from refused to refund me! I am so annoyed. If it costed more I would even sue the seller. I hate people who defraud others. I wish we could sue playasia.

Hey guys, doing return of 2 to play-asia. I've never shipped internationally, can anyone fill me in on exactly the process of shipping "Airmail" from the usa? is this usps? are there any custom forms needed? etc. thanks in advance.
-
First Class International through USPS–it's the cheapest. There's a customs form you have to fill out--it's big and white (though the part that actually goes on the package is much smaller, as is your receipt. You have to go to the post office; you can't ship online, so the clerk will help you out. Cost me $13.18 to ship one out. So, maybe as much as $5 more for two? Depending on how much more your second one weighs and the box and packaging, I guess.

I just returned my 2 I had ordered and it cost around $20.50 for First Class International. Just another sign that Play-Asia shipping is a rip off as I think they charged me $28 to ship both.
-
SO I am talking to the guy who sold me my Ace and he can get a refund from playasia, but he refuses to do so and gave me the order number to get a refund myself. Does playasia even do refund to someone who wasn't even the original buyer?
-
As you know I sent one of my fakes to Banpresto a few weeks ago. They just sent it back today with this letter.
-
That was interesting that the people at Banpresto actually sent you a response.
I wonder how large their management actually is.
-
Nice Crease! It's a subtle victory, but a victory all the same. I am glad that they will investigate it at least.
