No. Just… no. They can finish Versus XIII and XIII-2 first. Wishing for the next title to be revealed this soon makes you part of the problem.
Nomura's team isn't the only team working on FF, you know.

Your point? We don't fricken need a new FF announced yet.
I'm with Buuhan on this. They need to finish the games they already announced and not announce another one :/
Still waiting patiently for news on Kingdom Hearts 3.
FF can wait.
They need to finish FF Versus before they can work on KH3 from what I heard since its the same team.
I'm looking forward to Project Cafe, aaaand I'm willing to bet that this one will print money, too. enter clever .gif
And if there is going to be a Super Smash Bros. 4, I really hope the online service is improved.

I don't care about Nomura's shit right now. I'm interested in FF15 because the sooner they announce it, the less likely it is for Nomura and Kitase to be on the team to screw it up. They better not wait for Nomura to finish his 25634574674567 side projects when they have a ton of other folks that are much more talented than him.
Well, you can forget that happening.
Nomura's only done 4 main FFs though. The FF9 and FF12 teams are a bit overdue for one, after all.
Remember guys, Sakurai is working on Kid Icarus. Odds of a new Smash Brothers being announced this year are very slim considering how devoted they guy has been to past Smash Brothers projects.

devoted? hardly. He didn't even want to make Brawl, they had to beg him. I think he feels like he was done with the series a long time ago, and wouldn't mind if someone else took the reigns.
I know I wouldn't mind. >_>
There have been some photos flying around from a supposed private industry presentation for Cafe, which if it is to be believed, confirms the next Smash Bros game for 2012 (named Super Smash Bros Shift from what I recall). I can't seem to find the photo, but it didn't look shopped to me. We'll find out soon enough.
It's strife but I don't believe it in the slightest:

It's probably just me, but I get a small Fight Club feel from that picture, which would be too gritty for Smash's style (from the previous games, anyways).
The problem with Smash Bros is its one of those games that rumours pop up for all the time. I recall there being ones for the GBA, the DS and the 3DS
So, am I the only one hoping some Japan only wii games like the last story are announced to be coming to the US? It seemed to me like Nintendo has plans for wii's last stretch as well, and I'm hoping I can get some of those games in English
if thats real… Strife is possibly the worst name that it could ever have.

Perhaps devoted was a poor choice of words, I meant rather that once he was part of the project, I believe it consumed a major part of his life. He knew what he was getting himself into, which is why he had to be begged into doing it. Now I can't see himself taking on another project of that magnitude as well as Kid Icarus.
I think however that Smash Brothers is at a stage now where the game kind of designs itself. A larger roster, balancing issues and competent online capabilities seem to be more pressing concerns among fans than adding any more creativity to the series such as Subspace Emissary.
Bearing that in mind I do agree that a follow up to Brawl could be an excellent game regardless of who is holding the reigns, as long as they're willing to listen to the fans.
Of course if Nintendo really wanted to get up to date, they would see how much money there is to be made in DLC. Since Smash Brothers is hardly an intricate Beat 'em Up they could easily churn out character after character and people like me would for better or for worse eat that shit up.
For those expecting any big Metal Gear Solid news at E3, drop such expectations now: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/05/27/kojima_questions/
GENO FOR STRIFE
get your shirts ready
walks past with a Mallow for Strife shirt
what was that? :P
But yeah. Doubt it's gonna happen. I think we have more of a chance of having Fawful.
I gotta say, if the Project Cafe is going to be more powerful than a PS3 then they still gotta be keeping a lot of their first-party properties stylized, right? I don't even wanna imagine a realistic looking Mario… I've seen enough horrifying pictures of that on the net.

All I want is something concrete on Rising. Even a trailer would suffice.

probably. If it's stronger than the PS3, I imagine there will be higher quality enviroments, more polys on the characters, and more hq particle effects
it's pretty exciting really, though i haven't been interested in anything nintendo since paper Mario 3. If they ever did a remake of SMRPGLOTSS, I'm sure it would be badass on this new system

That is a lesson I hope Nintendo learns from SEGA …shudder

That doesn't look all that realistic, really. There was more what I was talking about:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110450-Trademark-Hints-at-Professor-Layton-E3-Announcement
More Layton is NEVER a bad thing. I wonder if we'll get that 100 hour side-RPG tho. Would be fun.
My biggest issue with 'Strife' being the possible new title for the next Smash game?
The amount of 'Cloud Strife' jokes that will brew…

While I never did have any expectations at all for MGS at this E3, I am a bit curious as to what Kojima has planned for it's 25th anniversary.

More Layton makes for a very happy Mr. Zoro!

You may be in some luck. Apparently it's been confirmed for Europe:
Too bad I live in the US and not Europe, so that mans nothing to me

That means you can import it if its a DS game, and it'll be in English.
The games I was talking about are wii games. Wii has region lock, and I've never modded mine to get past that
I'll probably mod my Wii and PSP eventually with the Project Cafe and NGP coming out.
And rumors that Cloud will be a playable character.
Since Smash bros. is such a Nintendo centric game I think it would be more appropriate if either Cecil or Terra joined instead.

Brawl had Solid Snake and Sonic so why not a FF character?
Snake and sonic have both been on Nintendo consoles before.
And Final Fantasy is no stranger to Nintendo. FF1-6 on GBA and Crystal Chronicles for GCN come to mind.
And some of those Final Fantasy spin-offs on Wii. Didn't pay much attention to those.
meh. If we go with an RPG I'd rather see them give us someone from Golden Sun. Or Lyn from Fire Emblem. How about if they do go with Square they take someone from Dragon Quest or Super Mario RPG?
Personally I'd rather see them do something with Level 5 and give us Layton playable. Come on. He could attack using Gentlemanly hats, Tea and Puzzle Solving Skills!
Although if we don't see a Mii in the a new Smash Bros I'll be VERY surprised.
@Mr.:

Which is why FF characters who have been on Nintendo systems were suggested instead of Cloud.
Personally I just want megaman. He has a long relationship with nintendo (He was even on the captain N cartoon!) and he would fit the smash games well.
If anyone from FF gets in, I'd vote for Chocobo. Square and Nintendo have partnered in the past, not to mention on regular occasion lately.
I say Chocobo.
Brawl had Solid Snake and Sonic so why not a FF character?
Cecil and Terra are Final Fantasy charactors, from IV and VI respectively.
I wasn't saying no Final Fantasy characters, I was saying use Final Fantasy characters that would appeal to the old school Nintendo die hards.
As much as I love FF, there is one third party character I consider much more worthy of admission into the roster, and I felt he was cheated out of brawl.
Blue Bomber for strife.
But I'm only going to follow this show for news on Ape E-ffing-Scape 4, YEEEEAHHHHH
Now just make Klonoa and ZOE 3 you game developer clods
The Square rep for Smash should be Geno.
@Cyan:
The Square rep for Smash should be Geno.
This, and a Moogle. Preferably Mog.
Honestly, I just want a Final Fantasy 5 or 6 remake for the 3DS announced.
I want all three Mother games remade for the 3DS.
@Cyan:
I want all three Mother games remade for the 3DS.
Not against that AT ALL! I haven't played a single one, and I want to change that fact.
I want to at least play the first one.

Don't forget his slot machine gun and sword skills.

Yup. And he can point at people too. He could have a fun lil Final Smash that gives the opponent to solve a basic puzzle in like 3 seconds or something otherwise they get KO'D
Are we gonna do this? Super Smash Bros. 4 character predictions/debates? I mean, I'm completely up for this if we are. But maybe we should wait to see if anything actually gets announced…
but I would rather see Geno representing SE, because he represents the previous time Nintendo did a collab with Square, and ofc Megaman because he's Megaman. Layton would be interesting, actually. Very popular, nintendo-only 3rd party series. And Level 5 is a quality developer.
