True, but that just made the face plant all the more memorable.

Just recalled that! I haven't really remembered too many of the other E3's now though.
-
EA's half n hour away, hopefully since they only have an hour they've made the best with the time they've been given
-
Game trailers sound is screwed. Keeps going off.
All of the streams were messed up:
GameSpot's kept on buffering and IGN's was having issues with repeating voices and scenes from minutes ago (hard to explain, but that rendered it unwatchable).
They better have all of these issue's fixed before Nintendo's. I can let Microsoft slide, because to be honest, there wasn't much to see there.
-
LOVE the interview about Fable Journey on Game Trailers
Interviewer: So it's not an open world?
Peter blah blah: It's about as open world as a road is!

Gamespot have started with Pre EA commentary? a new approach

It sounds like a 'Links crossbow training'

That EA guy is quite possibly the most dodgiest guy I ever seen.
-
He took the piss out of Ice T and he isn't wearing sunglassess, so he already got two up on Microsoft
-
i feel nintendo has this in the bag for mainly this reason. the have essentially TWO new systems to showcase.
yes 3ds is out already, but its practically brand new and there is room to announce and show a ton of new games. Then bam a new system always trumps everything else.
ngp is in a tough spot. its not new, yet is not out. i mean for most part we just want to see price. which i'm warry of.
did not yet watch microsofts, but read live blog and wow bore fest. maybe watching the trailers is going to be fun, but otherwise i don't think ANY game was not already heard of. only game that i didnt' know before their conference was Disney land game using kinect.
-
NGP is hit or miss. For me they REALLY have to give us some new content. Not just LBP, Uncharted and God of War. I'd love for them to announce that it's actually a handheld. Instead of how big it looks from what we've seen.
And Sly 4. Since apparently it is coming out. And Last Guardian dammit. Those two on the PS3 would make me happy. I guess we'll see more Twisted Metal since that was the huge PS3 announcement last year and wasn't heard of again.
-
yea i dislike how sony actually says that the ngp WONT fit in your pocket
so are we expected to carry around a bag at all time incase i want to ever play ngp. hell 90% of the time i take my 3ds or ds with me to place i do not play it even once.
-
Ok. I DO like that Reckoning game. The only one from EA that's caught my eye thus far.
Overstrike is…...I dunno. Doesn't look much different from what almost everyone else is doing. Except perhaps with some 'humour'
-
Liking what im seeing for Battlefield so far
Graphics look so good
-
if they put Battlefield and MW 3 next to each other without the titles I coulda sworn they'd be exactly the same game. Just different locations.
-
Well I liked that conference more than Microsoft's, even though there were Kinect games involved, they didn't feel the need to go on and on about them, just gave us what we wanted to see, live demos of ME3 and Battlefield 3 and actually showed new unheard of games as well unlike Microsoft who churn out sequel after prequel.

makes me wonder if all of EA's stuff will be announced during Ninty's E3 tho. Kinda worrying that we didn't get Fifa 2012 for the 3DS announced. (Or did we? I wasn't paying attention.)
I wonder if Sony moved their show to today to try and not have a repeat of last year. That was pretty embarassing after having the 3DS to have Sony waltz out and show off their 3D with glasses.

Nope they didn't announce fifa 2012 for the 3DS but im assuming it will be shown tomorrow with Nintendo, I think Sony are trying there best to get everything right, they need to to make up for this recent hacking drama, they can't come out and just do a mediocre show
-
I liked the part where EA said how random celebrities just keep popping up
and then they brought in 3 football players
:3

Ubisoft Spotlight coming in 30 minutes people!!!

Ubisoft Spotlight coming in 30 minutes people!!!
Yup. Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy, Rayman and Petz…PETZ... PEEEEEEEEETZ KINECT.
Although I'm gonna bed. I think I'll watch sony as soon as I get up (I assume it'll be like last year where I can watch it on PSN.)
Actually speaking of. Is it wrong for me to find it somewhat amusing if Sony got hacked halfway through their show?
-

Trust me, the same could not be said if you actually played them.
And how about that Halo 4. Holiday 2012. Trying not to milk it too hard, that's nice. I've lost interest in Halo after Reach but maybe this'll renew it seeing as how Bungie won't be making it. You can tell from the CGI trailer it's not by them since they never do that in their games (Bungie)
-
Yeah, they suck in different ways.
-
I wonder if we'll at least have a chance at seeing a new OP game? I recall UA being in the Wii first look. If this is the first look for the entire world we could possibly see something perhaps? I just hope that if we do it's TS and not Marineford centric.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Yeah, they suck in different ways.
Lol @ Battlefield sucking. That's like saying COD is good.
Protip: Not all shooters suck and not all shooters are the same, no matter what COD or Halo (which is actually more original than most) tell you.
-
Metroid Prime is a good shooter….as is Bioshock (do these count? They're actually quite different.)
-
I have a hard time calling the Metroid Prime games fps games. They're literally just Metroid in first person. I guess first person adventure would be more appropriate.
-

Metroid Prime is one of the greatest.. Bioshock is considered as well. There's also Deus Ex and Half-life 1 and 2.
But when speaking of multiplayer-centric shooters, I suppose Battlefield is the only good one. (Halo's fun but its too simple and not as quality as BF)
-
Maybe well hear a new IP from Respawn (the origional Infinity Ward guys who left because activision was being a jackass)
-
^ You forgot Goldeneye. Even the Wii one was pretty darn decent.
And here's a nice teaser for you guys:
I think the ladder is subtle hint we'll be seeing a remake of Donkey Kong on the GB for the 3DS :P
-
Isn't Respawn making MW3?
Another COD I won't buy.
See this
COD is pretty much nothing compared to that. It may look a bit similar due to being a war shooter, but it's much more realistic. Too bad I don't have a super awesome PC to play with those kind of graphics
-
So, Microsoft continues to have pretty much no genre variety and promote casual games on the kinect. None of the camera features of kinect are useful, although I admit voice commands could have some potential if it actually works properly in the game. And I think I could count two games that weren't sports, shooters, or casual (counting the on-rails fable as casual in this since it just seems like a fable targeted at casuals more than a hardcore game)
-

I play shooters from time to time, but there's no way I can keep up with the market. I haven't played the most recent Battlefield games but I've played several of the older ones. I really liked the premise and I generally thought the execution was good. But, somehow, I could never really get into them all that heavily. There's something missing to the formula, but I've never been able to put my finger on what it was.
Maybe they simply try to do too much.

Who cares, you probably don't even play it that much.
I'm only interested in BF3 for 2011 thus far. Batman and AC are a rent. Well, maybe not AC, depends.
I suppose the one major reason I love Battlefield is the feeling. It actually feels like I'm at war with all the explosions and players and helicopters and tanks around. Wish I had a great sound system so I could fully enjoy the sound effects, as well.

What don't I play much? This really isn't clear.

The 360. People just complain that there's no originality in their presentations when most of them don't even play it regularly, so they're not missing anything. That's why I'm waiting to see what Nintendo reveals. Soon enough I'll be able to sell the 360 and be done with it. Only reason I haven't yet is because I don't have the money now to buy a PS3 and I'm just waiting for a few games to come out so I can buy/rent them.
-

I think one of my biggest problems with the franchise was that it didn't scale well. If you had 8 people together to play a game, a game of Battlefield was pretty much totally worthless. You can't possibly make a game out of such a large and complex battlefield without like 30 people at least. So, in the end, single player and large online multiplayer were really the only ways to enjoy the game.
Of course, Xbox Live and PSN makes it easier to jump into games like that, but there's no semblance of actual teamwork in those randomly cobbled together teams.

Ubisofts started with a new Rayman game
http://e3.gamespot.com/press-conference/ubisoft-e3/?tag=content_nav%3Bvideo%3Bubisoft -
I don't play it regularly, but I do own a 360, which is EXACTLY why I want more variety. I want to play on my 360 more, but the games I like don't come to it. I'm not missing anything, but that isn't what the complaint is about. My complaint is that I'm not GETTING anything either. Seriously, I've played more games that I like and played them more on the Wii than the 360, and I'm not really a casual either.
-
Rayman was announced last year, it looks pretty good. Should've been XBLA/PSN title though, but whatever.
Urouge, I guess I'm just a fan of the chaos that ensues on those maps/
Wonder what that game is? (ubisoft conf.)
Was kinda hoping for it not to be some generic shooter but oh well -
Well I hope its better than FarCry 2
-
Another shooter, Ghost Recon, but at least it isn't generic.
And a free PC onlineGhost Recon. Free is always nice
-
Free PC supplement, nice, liking that these companies are including free betas
-

No Ubisoft conference would be complete without some AC
-
God yes, AC Revelations. So great to be back to the Middle Eastern theme.
Sad to see Ezio so old now, though
-
Another release for Nov! damn, with that, Skyrim and Uncharted I won't be leaving the house
-
Awesome intro for AC Revs! It's looked really realistic.
