@Cap'n:
Code Lyoko's awful. The story makes no sense, and it has too much forehead.
As I said, it's a hit or miss kind of program. Usually, CL turns off people because it looks strange and the series, like Teen Titans, had no definate beginning. What differentiates the two is that TT didn't need a beginning, as the plot was driven by action, but CL did because it was driven by story.
The best aspects of the show are the general breaking of sterotypes and the existence and nature of Aelita. Without those two elements, CL wouldn't be anything special. Fans of the magical girlfriend genre (especially Chobits) or Pinnochio should like this show, if they can get watch enough episodes to get hooked.
@Ubiq:
Not, it was cancelled for the same reason that Courage the Cowardly Dog was: the fifty-two episode rule. For a while there, Cartoon Network operated on the principle that when a series reached fifty-two episodes, it was time to pull the plug. This was on account of the fact that the network was being run by idiots even then.
About a month ago, they had a late night Friday block of Samurai Jack, Megas XLR, and two episodes of Justice League that ran from 2AM to 4AM, but it only lasted for about three weeks.
When Kenshin ran on the same Toonami block as SJ, I assumed the show was cancelled; I didn't know it ran in syndication. I assumed the same for Megas after it went on Miguzi.
Courage was a good show, too. Dang, was this same principle applied to the PPG, Dexter's Lab, and Johnny Bravo? All three of those shows "jumped the shark" ages ago (though Dexter's Lab went out in a blaze of glory with Ego Trip), but they came back a couple years past with newer episodes.
@Cap'n:
I think it's a good thing they ended Kenshin when they did, because it does a nosedive straight into crap right after that.
Hear here!
