I've got mine at Toys R Us.
3DS + Any game (I'm getting SF or Samurai Warriors) for £210
So yeah. Nifty deal.

That's even better, they must have responded to the HMV deal.
I'm seeing £225 online, is this instore only?
instore. In Gateshead.
I only got told about it cus I used to work there.
Cool. Going to stick with Ghost Recon, but I prefer instore to online(which the HMV deal is).
Appearently it was confirmed in an ask Iwata that OoT 3d will be "crammed with interesting things that weren't in the Nintendo 64 version", although what those things are hasn't been said yet
Master Quest wasn't in the 64 version.
And they already announced the Water Temple would be easier
And the Iron Boots simplified.
Loving the price wars going on in the UK.
Right now you can get a preorder for the 3DS + Ghost Recon Shadow Wars for £215.
And don't judge Ghost Recon on the crappy franchise, this is a strategy game being made by Julian Gollop, the guy behind the greatest PC game of all time, XCOM : Enemy Unknown/Ufo Defence, so assuming Ubisoft has given him a decent tean & budget, this should be good.
The 3DS on its own is £187 in Morrisons today, not sure if it was today only (in which case this is a bit late :p). Tesco (online) are doing a 3DS + game for £207 as well.
which Morrisons? Seaburn it's still £197.99 instore so. (was there a few hours ago)

Haven't been to any Morrisons to check myself, but I was under the impression it was nationwide. Here's a link to the Morrions page.
I just heard Grainger Games are taking preorders at £189 now, but only for the first 50 preorders. Wonder if that's only for new preorders? Might go down tomorrow and check.
hmmm I dunno but i don't think they're allowed to offer reductions on stuff for some people and not others. Trading standards and all.
I'm pretty sure that 50 people will turn into EVERYONE once somebody points it out to them.
Master quest might be it, but given he said it won't be announced before release, I'm guessing its something we don't know yet as well, especially since it seemed to imply multiple extras. And honestly, I HIGHLY doubt Miyamoto was talking about graphics or controls. Also when was it said water temple would be easier? I thoughr that comment was just about changing into and out of iron boots, not about the actual dungeon itself
I believe Master Quest was already "confirmed" by accident. Although, maybe it should be labeled as a rumor for now.
I tried out the 3ds. It was pretty awesome, and I could see the depth. Also felt no eye strain. Still, when 3d is at max, its really easy to lose the sweet spot, althou you can usually keep it close enough to the spot to keep it very playable. Controls were also fantastic
Which event did you try it at?
Don't really want to reveal the area where I live, so I'll just say I went to one of the ones that started in the US yesterday
URLs are amazing:
man, just got back from one of the demo pods, and I'm more hyped than ever. The thing feels and looks great, and the 3D worked perfectly. Yeah, if you tilt it more than a little you lose the 3D, but I don't usually tilt my DS away from my face anyway. Pilotwings seems much more interesting than I thought, if only because of the sweeping vistas you get to fly around. I might actually get it; I liked the flying part of Wii Sports Resort, and playing that in 3D was surprisingly fun.
also, I did the face recognition mii maker. You have to choose your skin color, eye color, and your hair style and color, and take off your glasses. Then it does a fairly good job of mapping your face, but ehh. I expected it to be able to detect hairstyle, or at least colors. O__O
but still, making miis is fun times. and with more hair and other options, I plan to make lots of miis. :D
So what games do people plan to get at launch? I'm getting Super Street Fight IV 3D and one more, most likely either pilotwings or steel diver
I decided not to get a 3DS at launch so I can get one for my Birthday, with Ocarina of Time if it(OoT) comes to America before July.
looks like some best buys also have demo units up already
Of all the games coming out on launch day, only Super Monkey Ball has me interested… but if you have to tilt... I wonder how that will work with the 3d... haha.

Not very well, you'll lose the "sweet spot". Best played with the Thumb Pad with 3D.
True, didn't think about that. I may hold off on games for now… I dunno yet. I have till the 27th to decide. I just pre-ordered it so I can get it now so I don't have to worry about waiting on a line when a game I actually want comes out.
Super Monkey Ball is the most interesting? :/
and I'd suggest turning the 3D off if you want to use motion controls, that's what the Face Fault Photo Racer guys are telling people.
I might be getting this next month, since my brother never got me a birthday gift yet, (when he asked me what I wanted last december which was when my birthday was, all I said was a 3DS) so I think he'll get it for me =D. But I'm really wondering what game I should get. I was thinking of Nintendogs+cats (I caved it, they're just too cute this gen and my mom will never let me get a REAL cat) and I was thinking of getting pokemon B/W (another cave in cause I just got Heart Gold a few months ago). Then when Oot comes out I'd get that!

I preordered Nintendogs+Cats. It looks really fun. As for pokemon games, I am skipping Black and White and waiting for the next gen pokemon. I really can't wait to get my 3DS. Only 12 days left

This makes more sense than a 4 city event. They keep saying "you can't see the 3d on videos online, you have to SEE it in person". the only way to do that is get demos out there.
One of my friends knows someone who ordered it from Japan and saw it first hand, if he hadn't just bought an Ipod2 he'd have bought a 3ds on day 1.

I'm with you on this one. I expect great things from that game despite the fact that the Ghost Recon series doesn't do much for me. I'll get a 3DS on launch day, and that game is probably the only game I'll buy until OoT comes out. I think it'll be great for anyone who loves turn based strategy games (Civilization, Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance Wars, etc), like I do. It looks like they took just the combat from Civ 5 and beefed up the content to be its own game.
My GBA may have seen more Advance Wars than all the other games combined.

Thats what I was going to do (about B/W) but after seeing gameplay videos and ect, I'm really starting to like it alot. Its tempting… very tempting...:ninja:
I love how the 3DS isn't even out, and there's already a billion haters. Are people gonna do this with every Nintendo system?

People DO do it with every Nintendo system.
Mostly Sony/Microsoft fanboys.
The same happens with all of the major consoles.
Yep. Nintendo are doomed (Insert Viz BOOM here). Didn't you know?
Preordered mine today. Come on next friday!
Gyaaaagh, the wait is killing me. Going to Bradford's GAME on Saturday, where they're demoing the actual games with some Nintendo Reps. Going to the midnight launch, naturally.

Yes because people think the 3D is a gimmick and only Nintendo uses gimmicks. Really bothersome. But to reassure something for you guys about the 3DS
"3DS continues to shine brightly. Amazon UK has announced that pre-orders are 56% stronger than that of the Nintendo Wii and 255% stronger than with the DSi, making it the most preordered gaming console."
This reminds me of how Kinect was the fastest selling hardware of all time. Last I heard of Uk (or europe) the preorders are nearly reaching 100,000.
I went to Best Buy the other day and they had a 3ds set up so i checked it out. It took about 10 seconds to find the right angle to see the effect but right after i put it down my eyes hurt for a good 20 minutes. I will admit my eye sight isn't that great one eye is 70/20 and the other 100/20 but still after putting it down i felt a sharp pain in both eyes and had trouble seeing. I really hope the new paper mario doesn't use the 3d very much.

PC fans just don't bother :P. It happens among all fanboys. It's not like there are NO annoying Nintendo fanboys, they're just not as loud as others.
I'm still sceptic about the whole 3D thing, as if it isn't already annoying enough that every CGI film rides on the 3D bandwagon. But anyway I guess I will check it out if some noteworthy games are released. I just hope the 3D won't be such a strain on the eye lile it's in the movies, I'm already shortsighted enough.
Well, you can turn it off with a slider (and it conserves battery power too, from what I hear).
I went by Best Buy today and saw that they had a 3DS demo station, so I went to go give it a whirl.
I had to awkwardly crouch down to get the "sweet spot", because apparently they made the station to appeal to the younger audience and thus made it short…:getlost:
But other than that, the 3D was actually pretty neat. I was only able to play Pilotwings, and on that demo the only 3D seemed to be more about depth than "popping out at you", which is ok but a little disappointing. Maybe it'll be different in other games.
But hey, it's not like I was planning on buying the system for the 3D graphics alone.
I just saw the trailer for Time Travelers. It certainly was an effective trailer, because now I definitely want to know more, like what would've happened had the girl decided to sit down, for starters.
I am a PC gamer and I still enjoy what the Wii and Ds offer. They are a different gaming experience than the one I get on my computer. 360 and PS3 just seem like watered down PC's to me. They are nice, just not my thing.
On a similar not I retired my Wii a few days ago. My new PC I built plays the Wii games in 1080pi and in 3d (real 3d) using an emulator. I got the Wiimotes working with my PC and hooked it up to my projector and Wii games look quite amazing.
And no I don't pirate. I rip my Wii games onto my PC over the network. Pretty much what I do with my music cd's. All in all it is a nice system.
Lastly buying 3DS so soon after buying computer kind of sucks. Prbly wont buy any launch games yet and wait for something I really like.

That looked pretty cool. What do you think the chances are that this game will be released in the United States?
I am continually impressed with the graphics on the 3DS. Yeah, they are probably barely on par with the PSP, but they are so much better than the regular DS that it feels weird calling it a DS IMO.

3DS is capable of graphics (probably far) surpassing the PSP. Check out some of the Resident Evil videos. Its the NGP that the 3DS has no chance of beating.

Heard the 3DS ran the RE5 demo perfectly.
I just got back from Best Buy and Demoed the 3DS. It is awesome and I had no problem with the 3d at full blast. I am amazed at how clear it is in 3d considering that I expected some ghosting and the depth was very impressive for such a small screen.
My friend had some issues finding the sweet spot but it was pretty much instant for me.
For anyone that is into IGN, they rated the system a 7.5. Seems a bit unfair to me as the DSi got a 7.8 but meh. I don't pay any mind to most reviewers anyways. Many people are commenting on it saying that it's disappointing and some even canceling their preorders.

yea same here. i mean my current ds is a dslite only. so even if there are no 3DS games period getting a 3DS is like finally upgrading my dslite to a dsi with a slightly larger screen.
but then tehre are the great games coming out, and this is all ignoring 3D factor
and wow 7.5 rating. i thought game devs were excited about 3Ds, they already on the hate bandwagon. and besides rating a system? ha talk about a joke. a system can't be rated until at least halfway through its life period. fyi ps3 got a 6/10
