Woah, this really looks awesome. I really hope this Marineford Mode can live up to the hype they're creating. I prefer playing thorugh a really One Piece Arc over those made-up storys in locations that are actually not fitting at all for a One Piece game a lot

And yays at Marineford outfits for Croc and Buggy, Moveset update for Blackbeard and Akainu and Jinbe as playable character O_O
I wouldn't be too sure about Sengoku being playablke though. He could be cutscene only. But it's likely now that he'll be in.

btw. it looks like they changed the Tp and Sp bars to look more simple…

this is probably an extra mode that happens after the main game is done. It's definatley different considering the map in one of the screenshots. I knew buggy and croc would get new looks and it's good to see akainu and jinbei confirmed. Even sengoku's there but i wonder if it's cutscene only or do we get to play as him.
Although it would be fun to play as all mugiware in this mode it's looking more like it'll follow a linear path rather than allow exploration with whoever you want

That's my guess as well. That could be a good thing really. I'd like the Marineford Mode to have you unlock the admirals, Sengoku, Garp and others through that mode. It could open up a lot of room to put in new bosses in the Story Mode, if so.

Probably Marco or Sentoumaru, since Magellan wasn't actually in the war. That's all assuming that that's all the new characters though.

Yeah, Magellan's chances are pretty slim considering the fact that the game doesn't seem do cover anything from Impel Down. So it's gonna be Law or Marco probably.

btw. I'm really hoping you'll be able to connect the 3DS Game with your Wii to synchronize your game data like you could between the 2 Wii games.
No way I'll be putting as much effort in the 3DS Version again just to get Garp for Vs. Mode….

And Hina. You forgot Hina ;) She is someone you'd actually fight (or run past) rather than do nothing or appear after everything.

Hopefully they'll add Wi-Fi online for this one too. That was one of the problems with Gigant other than the roster.

Joking aside, I really hope those 6 spots at the website are for characters that will be reveiled before release and that there'll be some nice surprises left. There's just too many characters I still want to see in the game o_o

no just cuz Magellan wasnt in the war that doesnt mean that he could be playable in vs mode 70% of the characters in the game werent in the war anyway!

I was thinking most of the characters in the boxes would just be featured characters in the Marineford Mode. I believe Magellan could be in the story mode.

Well, I would assume all of the new characters will have had some type of showing in the war and Marco has a great chance do to all that he did and his importance. It'd be awesome to have Magellan, but I don't think we will.

Still hoping for some good updates to characters move sets. We now know how Mihawk fights so we can finally have him using his sword for all attacks instead of that small knife. He has more than enough moves to work with. Also, as I said before, I think we can see Jozu make an appearance if nothing else as another special for Doflamingo. Moria can also have a few more attacks. Not to mention the other two Admirals.

And Haddlez, that won't stop them at all. Shanks, Calgara, Spandam and others have been added and they really don't have many or any moves shown.

Kid you can make a movset out of his DF.

Law you can't. All he is shown to do is switch body parts. That's impossible in the game without making new models for every single char in the game for each combination. And then you have problems with simple obviousness with Buggy and Robin.

well i was thinking, Law could not switch body part, that's true… then why not doing something similar, like some kind of move that mess up the control scheme.

after all the purpose of his ability is to "disorientate" his opponent, and This can be done. not visually, but you get the effect. like going left make you go right, A attack become swing attack…

okay, i'm not sure if it's clear, but i wanted Law so much since kid confirmation in UC 2 T_T... so i had all the time to speculate on his possible moveset...

I also hope you can use both move sets. i didn't like UC1's move sets for the crew. i mainly use the 2nd move set, in UC2. i hope you can mix and match, rather than having to beat the 1st part of the game (UC1) to unlock moves for the 2nd part. i wouldn't mind, leveling up A combo 1 to lvl 5 to unlock A combo 2, along with AA & AAA, ect.

Squardo is in one of those screenshots. It's kinda hard to see since that big watermark is covering it. So just because they're in a screenshot doesn't mean they'll be playable.

i see what screenshot you mean. it does look like the scene where he hugs squardo. I wouldn't mind sengoku. I mean garps in it and they have about the same amount of moves (acc it's probably less for sengoku cause he's done less fights but whateva)

Yup, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Usopp - not much - but you get to fight on the going merry - I've also got Fighting for One Piece, and trying to unlock the characters there - Franky is spelt Flanky…it's awesome.

Seen the new scans - awesome - Galaxy Wink is in! As is Kuma I'm assuming too. This speculation is really whetting my appetite for this game! I really want Kumadori in -
Edit: Just seen most recent scans! Character models (even if just for cut scenes) SENGOKU!! AKAINU!! This is seriously going to be awesome. We've seen alot of other characters now from previous Ep1 and Ep2 rosters, Bon Kurei, Kuma etc... Here's hoping that we get 6 new characters!

It most likely wont happen, but will prolly end up in a cutscene in the Marineford story mode.

i wonder what don 2 would be for. lets hope they fix that lame unlocking system, along with scroll stages. i always thought luffy was the strongest in that game.

With the lineup right now, the only other thing I can hope for is an addition to Vs. Mode for 1 vs. 1 battles. Team Battles without the point system would be nice too. Probably not going to happen. Hopefully Magellan is in, even if it's as a Story Mode villain on an added island.

Doesn't have to be an added island. If they have you unlock the marineford chars in Marineford that opens up the spots for Kiji, Ace, BB, Garp and Kizaru. Magellan could replace that.

Personally I'm really hoping he's in. It's just not gonna feel complete if he isn't. (and kinda a slap in the face if they add Law or Marco.)

I'm seriously hoping that Marineford Characters are unlocked through the Marineford. Doesn't matter how it's done, I just want to see Magellan in the game.

And if they do open up those spots, I'm hoping for Magellan, Das Bones, Galdino at least to take a couple spots. Maybe another Skypiea priest, preferably Gedatsu or Ohm. Jyabura, Kalifa or Kumadori would be nice. Would like Perona as well. Bleh, I want everyone.

I don't mind Law, just hope that there are a few others in before him.

I'd rather see Marco,3, 1, Law and Hina in over than giving CP9 and Skypiea even more spots. (CP9 already have 4 anyways so don't need anymore.) Wiper is the only one deserving. Foxy too would be fine.

Sentomaru would be cool but I dunno if he has enough of a moveset

Yeah, but the 4 CP9 characters are all variants of Kaku and Lucci, plus Spandam. I'd like to add in someone new, perhaps making the Model Leopard + Model Giraffe fight a Model Wolf + Model Giraffe fight. Then Lucci's Model Leopard can be used in his dual battle with Pauly. I somehow forgot Wiper, but yeah, I want him in over Ohm and Gedatsu.

The problem is that CP9 are now just minor chars. Why them over the likes of Jango, Fullbody, Mr. 5 + Val, Doublefinger? Even Coby, Vista, Shiryuu, Hannybal, Sadi-Chan and Jozu deserve to be in over them since they appeared more recently.

I was just stating my preference from personal opinion. I like Jyabura's character. I'm not talking about deserving, just a preference. Coby hasn't even shown a fighting style to model a moveset after.

And saying that. Been playing some Wind Waker again. Why can't we have an obvious rip off of that? With travelling to islands, canon fights etc? Would be so much more fun.

Meh, it might be more cause I just got into One Piece last year. That being said, Jyabura was actually pretty strong in his own right. Though, Kalifa might be more likely than him, since she was more involved in that saga.

I actually would love a game like that. Personally, I want a game like that travels through the complete story from East Blue to Marineford. I think it would be a lot of fun. Might take 150+ hours to beat, but hell, I'd love that.

Windwaker is the shit. I wish I hadn't sold my copy a while ago - Damnit! I want to get it back!

Completely agreed on this - Wind Waker was much better than twilight princess (which frustrated me more than any other LoZ game), and the sailing around was magnificently simple and well executed.

Edit: Japan on April 7th Release date it seems - Can't wait! But I'm wondering if getting a Japanese 3DS just to play this game is worth it, especially on my measly salary… :(

Yup. Looks like Ivankov's face is being designed specifically.
There was some development crossroads about including Salome, however looks like the big-old-snake is just cutscene only.

The 3D gallery mode seems to be available from the start, and as you collect more character data (ie beat the bejesus out of them in story mode) you get to see them here.

And the Design Section Team Leader worked on models for Kuma, Moria and Doflamingo.

Notice the Jimbe model in the bottom right :P

And seems that lots of info should be available in the April issue of Jump - though I'm sure that the site
