I know I'm bad but I feel ignored.. XD
…Don't worry, I feel ignored all the time on this thread. You kind of get used to it after a while =P And for the record, the robot pictures are cute…You friend makes a very nice Konis and as always your Usopp is great XD
Cactaur Tamer - Editing patterns is both a fun and frustrating process XD But it does take some trial and error...The first time I made pants, they would have only fit my friend if he was 300 pounds heavier and two feet shorter. x_x* Your Raki costume came out quite nicely! What pattern is it you use to edit from, or is it just different pieces you've found?
And those look like Japanese cosplayers of Luffy and Tashigi. They seem to always look perfect! Either way they're very nice.
I always try comment on everyone, I just miss people sometimes XP
did you get my adress in email btw~
and thank you ^^ she made a great Conis but very few people in such a small con knew who Conis was but I was happy when someone came up to her and was like 'OMG YOUR CONIS!' it was nice seeing her so happy, she was real proud of it.
I sorry FFU! I didn't mean to ignore you I was just going to tell you awesome next time you got on!
I love your Usopp! It is one of the best I have ever seen and she did an awesome Conis. Is that all of her real hair?
Hey Squall, awesome cosplay..

I use the vogue basic fitted bodice/skirt pattern. It works well for most kinds of shirts and dresses. Since I've fitted the pattern to my measurements, then I can edit it to whatever shape without worrying about fit. You can even move/remove the darts or make it into a princess line if you know the techniques. ..Vogue Fitting Shell … It might not look that versitile, but it has been very helpful. Since I use the basic sloper so often, I transfered the actuall fitted pattern to pieces of muslin and added interfacing to make sure they don't get damaged easily.(although I still need to fit the sleeves, as I haven't had occasion to use them very often.)

Ah thanks -^^- and no thats not her real hair XD she made those and managed to get them natural looking, really good eh?
oh shit squall, that luffy is damn good
FFU: Wow, I really thought that was her real hair! Tell her mad props!
whew! finally went through this whole thread! took me like 2 days on and off, but it gave me some major inspiration to cosplay! There are some AWESOME cosplayers in here, seriously, you guys rock!
I was planning on cosplaying a female version of Zoro (I'm sure its been done, but he is my favorite character X3) I wanna dress as Skypiea Zoro, Alabasta Zoro and Water 7 Zoro…. I need to know where i can get some decent looking goggles that look like his... i suck at finding things like that sniff also, gonna look into finding some zebraprint fabric and some black pants to tear up... oh, and of course gonna need some combat boots, or something of the like....and can't forget the swords... so, can anyone give me any pointers as to how i can go about making a decent costume? pic references would help a ton... if i'm gonna cosplay, i want to go all the way! thanks! X3
@Seta:
Some Ren Fairey One Piecey goodness:
I'll spare you guys the shippy pics…and the random ones of us eating ^_^*
those are freakin' amazing costumes! I really love the Zoro costume, he looks like him in a way… everytime i saw those pics, i really wanted to cosplay as alabasta zoro for at least one day...
Oh wow thats one of the best Luffys I have ever seen, and the Tashigi's great too.
I have to agree, he looks JUST like Luffy! Its crazy! i love that tashigi too, she looks really awesome!
god, i wanna cosplay so bad! i've never done it before sadly
@Squall:
Tashigi
Bahah… Ami is the BEST Tashigi... I wonder where she is... She is on this forum.. :rolleyes:
Nami in wedding gown
cute?
Sanji in wedding tux Bishie?
Zoro in a japan traditional cloth
more coming soon
gasp so beautiful!! Wow, I love the Zoro and Sanji costumes! Especially the Zoro one, I always thought Zoro looked hot in that traditional hakama… and that's a really pretty Nami
Oh wow that Nami is very cute~ and the others kick ass too~ heh movie cosplays.. never thought about that…
That nami is so cute! =3
Wow, I love that Nami's wig. O_o. That is such a perfect color.
Squall: I am in love with you now, hardcore. <3 And stinky you, I was thinking of doing "wedding dress" Nami. I know I can still do it, but I wanted to do it first! pouts Though still such awesome cosplay,I love it!
Cactaur_tamer - Thanks for the info! I love reading bout that sort of stuff, and people can learn a lot from it!
Funky - Got your address, gonna try to go this week. I'm working late a lot unfortunately >.<
Strings - Where IS Ami anyway? she owes me NamixTashigi cosplay pictures! I love her Tashigi.
Pirateneko - Aw, that means a lot to me, Thank you so much! A lot of hard word and aggravation when into both those costumes….the Nami one is always getting little tweaks. And yeah, I wish Monty had entered his Zoro costume in the Zoro look alike contest...maybe I'm a bit biased but I think he looks just like him.
You should TOTALLY do a femme Zoro! I did a weird Zoroized Nami once, maybe I'll post some pictures of that later.
Squall - I saw those pictures WAAAAAAY back, like when I first got into One Piece. They're VERY impressive. I particular ADORE that Sanji...The Nami and Zoro are awesome as well.
Just as a side discussion note, Japanese cosplay works a lot differently than American (and other countries') cosplay - Many times, the people have absolutely nothing to do in the creation of the costume - store bought is encouraged. They're also only allowed to wear it for a certain time period in a restricted area of the convention, strictly for photographs. So basically, even though they have EXTREMELY impressive photos of people in costume...I think we have a lot more fun, in both the pulling together of the costume, and the wearing it around the convention! XD

You lucky girl, lol! ^^; I agree though…. never thought I'd see a real Zoro X3
Zoroized Nami? I gotta see this, please post it! X3
I have seen pictures of her zoroized Nami on her DA site. It is awesome looking!
Squall, I've never been the biggest fan of cosplay in general but that Nami wig is unreal.
Nice cosplay…
Actually, right now I'm working on my Fukoro cosplay. Maybe I will post some pics.
i dont know if this counts as cosplay but
its my dog dressed as luffy it took less than 5 minutes XD
and now she hates me for putting her into a costume :P
oh holy crap that's cute. Wish i could do that with my dog, but she's way too big. Maybe i could do that with my fish…
i dont know if this counts as cosplay but

aw, that's too cute! i bet he wasn't happy…. dogs don't usually like having stuff on like that haha X3

Thats cute but I'm against dressing animals up cus I don't think they like it X3

wow… it doesn't seem nearly half as impressive when you put it like that.. whats the point of cosplaying if you can't keep the outfit for like ever and walk about in it... or have anything to do with it's making? doesn't seem half as fun..
Yay for cute luffy-ized doggie! Adorable!
And that type of cosplay does sound well unfun.
That is adorable!
I'm going to dress my jack russel terrier up like Buggy & take a pic!
(j/k! She'd lick all the makeup before I even put it on her! XD)

Lolz, that's cute. ^^
Sigh I wish I could cosplay.
Sigh I wish I could cosplay.
Agreed. I have zero sewing or clothing altering abilities.
This is me in the Zoro costume that I made for Otakon '05. This also marks my first time cosplaying. Anyways, It was taken with one of those disposable digital cameras that you can buy at a Ritz Photo, so I guess the flash is kinda blurring out what I'm using for a haramaki -_-;
Man, there so many who people said "Zolo"…..
Oh, and I'm saving that Luffy-dog picture!
Agreed. I have zero sewing or clothing altering abilities.
Well, that's not the reason why I can't cosplay. Actually, it's because I WON'T cosplay. (I'm not good at sewing but I can learn) I would have, but if I'm going to create a nice costume of an anime character, I'll want to show it off at conventions. And I actually was planning on creating a sanji costume & show it off at Comic-Con 2006, but then I came across a post by funkyfunkyusopp.
@funkyfunkyusopp:
but I was happy when someone came up to her and was like 'OMG YOUR CONIS!' it was nice seeing her so happy, she was real proud of it.
If someone came up to me & yelled "OMG YOUR <insert anime="" character="" here="">", I'd freak. The thought of someone I don't know coming up to me & saying something like that is absoutely terrifying to me.</insert>

I think when people do that its like one of the ultimate compliments, it means you've done a good job on your costum and people are able to reconise your outfit! so it's a GOOD thing =D
I've seen some really crappy FF cosplayers where they just dress in normal clothes and are like 'ta da' and your like 'who the hell.. did they even dress up?'
I get asked while in cosplay if I'm a guy or a girl XD fitting long hair under a afro type wig isn't fun sometimes trust me.

I know. It's just that I'm horribly scared of human interaction.
That, and I don't know how to take a (face to face) complaiment.
This year at Animania (Sydney,Australia), I cosplayed as Nami (Alabasta costume) and I had my very own One Piece cosplay group!!! It was my first time organising a cosplay group and I am very proud to say that it was a great success!!!
This is my One Piece cosplay group! - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/chibi15/Animania%202005/OnePiece.jpg
This is my Nami costume with my sister as Naruto - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/chibi15/Animania%202005/Animania0502-131.jpg
It is the best compliment when people come up to me and say 'Oh I remember you, you were that girl that did <insert costume="">last year!! This year you are brilliant as well!'
I first did a Nami (blue stips white shirt + brown skirt with white circles) costume in Manifest (Melbourne, Australia) 2004 as well as Animania (Sydney, Australia) 2004

Ah pretty cool and it looks like you had a good time? did you make any props at all? =3
I realized I didn't have any pictures of my Little Garden deal without the really awkward Mr. 9 substitute wig, so… I took one. Plus an ultra pale Fullbody thrown in for good measure. Go terrible dorm room lighting!
I wish I had room to set up a sewing machine in here. X_x. Lame. When I get back to Florida… I am spending all of winter break taking advantage of the nearby fabric store and the... space.

Maybe we can set something up for when you're back down here. Us going down there or you coming up here again or something.
Anyway. I should be getting started on Spandam's mask pretty soon, I just need to find some leather. That'll start most likely once I finish my Kurotsuchi (Bleach) mask, which I've been working on again. Completely redoing a few things on that, so.. that could take some time.

YES. God, I can't wait to see you guys again ;_;.
Edit: I can't go up there now though 'cause I don't have a car anymore. x_x.;

I'll see what we can pull off the other way around, then. I mean, enough of us have cars, so something should be possible. We'll figure it out. I have to worry about research papers for now anyway..
Fin Fish: Beautiful as always!
I've began thinking about Katsucon, while its like 5 months away or sommat.
I've decided to go as Marine Jango (as always), Young Iceburg, and Spandam. Wootage.
Pirateneko - Ha, thank you, all though admitably sometimes he makes me forget how lucky I am XD
omnichild - Wow, someone actually looked at my DA page! Thank you!
Sanji37 - Aaaawwww! Your pup looks adorable.
Takinawa - It's hard to see the haramaki in the picture unfortunately, but your hair looks great. What kind of dye/coloring did you use?
chibi15 - Wow, I didn't even realize there were cons going on in Australia…Glad you had a good time!
fin fish - Very cute as always! I really love that Fullbody wig. It'd make an awesome Trunks wig too.
Dude - Bah, I don't think we'll be at Katsucon after how badly put together it was last year...But I'd love to try to go if only to hang out again! (That was the best part of last Katsu!)
Time to jump on the picture posting band wagon! Here's a few of that "Zonami" costume I was talking about. I think I only posted one a gazillion pages back. They're from Katsucon this past February. It was a silly, VERY easy, and fun costume
Later tonight I have something to post pictures of that I'm REALLY excited about XD!
@Seta:
:ohmy:
Nice pic, though. Although, I feel quite dirty for looking at it.
Seta Ginny: Your zoro-ized Nami leaning against Sanji is like my weird fangirl's fantasy come true. I am a huge ZoroxNami fan and even love a little SanjiXZoro lovin. So having a Zoro-ized Nami loving Sanji is too awesome.
Yes! "Zonami" is indeed brilliant! I remember seeing and taking a picture of another great crossover, it was between Naruto and Luffy. ("Narufito" XD)
I'll post the pic if anyone's interested.
Oh and Seta Ginny, I just used a lot of this Raw(TM) Kelly Green temporary hair spray. Thanks for the compliment ^_^, I was actually kind of afraid that my hair would be too dark for the color to stand out.
