Hey guys, one of my favorite parts of one piece is seeing new devil fruits and with a new logia shown this chapter, i was wondering what element do you guys think it is. Early spoilers said mud, but the substance is pure white which lead me to believe it was snow. However snow is too close to aokiji's fruit and considering it cant be wax, im at a loss as to what the power could be. Any thoughts about what this new devil fruit could be? Thanks for any answer :)

A few questions on the latest chapter;
I believe the new fruit is glue. Glue vs rubber would be interesting, and it would allow him to easily suffocate people as he did to Fanji (?). What power do you think he has?Do you think Sanji will be able to channel the power of his nosebleeds, in a manner similiar to the death wink? Iwa/Iva could have taught him the secret behind the move…
And oh yes, Admiral Macarena. You made me laugh there. Keep it up!

I have some questions regarding the latest chapter:
-It has now become apparent that Luffy's hat used to belong to Roger before it belonged to Shanks. Do you think Oda will eventually give us a backstory for Shanks and how he got the hat from Roger?
-Do you have theories as to what you think Dr. Vegapunk's motives are working for the World Government? If he was really that dedicated to the marines, one would think he wouldn't allow Kuma to protect the Straw Hats like he did. Do you think he may have some connection to Luffy or the other members? Perhaps Franky, since he was the one Oda had meet Kuma.
-And if you have time, just one thing I noticed about Franky. He seems to have undergone a similar change Robin went through where he's now addressing all of the crew members by name as opposed to more distant nicknames like he used to. (Ex. "Swirly", "Swordsman", "Girly" and "Nico Robin")

So after listening to the podcast I had a crazy thought. If Vegapunk took away Kuma's personality, he could also, in a way, give it back to him. So if Vegapunk works with the Revolutionaries this could be for the Revolutionaries advantage, because Kuma would probably have access to a lot of critical information, because HQ wouldn't have to hide anything because Kuma belongs completely to the marines. I'm not sure how well this theory is, if you guys could give some feedback about it with your thoughts it might be interesting to find some possibilities.
Also about Coribou (new name: Lizard Head) and Caribou (new name: Murderous Bastard, MB for short) i like the idea of of MB having a clay or glue fruit. if it is glue it kinda reminds me of the rhyme i'm rubber your glue whatever you say bounces off me and sticks onto you, it made me think about how Luffy could fight him. But i think i like the clay idea better. and I wonder if Lizard Head will also have a devil fruit and if he does, if the lizard has anything to do with it.
also, i'm wondering if Shanks had a similar experiences with Roger as Luffy had with Shanks. Like if Shanks looked up to Roger when Roger used Shank's hometown as a base (like Shanks used Luffy's hometown as a base) and gave his hat to Shanks with the same kind of promise to become a great pirate.
Sorry for such a long post, but i wanted to make sure i covered all of what i had to say, and even know i think i might be forgetting something else i wanted to say.
any way awesome podcast, i would never have seen some of the deeper meanings without you all. So big kudos to you all!

Two things today on my mind:
1. Really off the wall crazy idea here, but seeing as both roger and luffy have black hair, and shanks was in the middle of them in owning the hat, luffy will have to give the hat to someone who has red hair or somthing around that colour. COuld be cool too see who and we may have not met them yet, although as i have always seen in Coby, he was introduced early so he has to be very important.
2. Although we know that it takes many many years for Devil fruits to grow, do you think we could see someone with a power we have already seen before? Lets take for example Ace ate a pretty old fruit and lets say a new one was created in that time and someone else ate it. Do you think Oda will go along this path or keep one power to one person, because I always thought with fruits, someone else had it before. (Would also be very cool to see who had certain powers before like Gomu-gomu or Yami-yami)

Hello guys. I'm a new listener but I must say I really like this podcast and I'm glad you guys find the time to do this twice a week. I like the podcast so much that the only reason I created this account was to ask piece together questions lol
Question 1: Now forgive me if you;ve already done this segment or answered this question but, what are the "Top 5 Fights you want to see and/or wish would happen in One Piece?!"
Mine are as follows.
Zoro vs Kuma(Rematch): Now most would say this'd be a better match up for Luffy but I think Zoro has just as much a bone to pick with Kuma if not more so than Luffy. These two have had 2 serious encounters, both when Kuma still had his mind(granted, i still don't think he's lost it anyway). Plus, how often does Zoro have a serious outright one on one fight with someone who isn't a swordsman? Overall, this could turn out to be a really epic fight if it were to happen.
New SUPER Franky vs New Luffy: Now, this fight would just be well…for lack of a better word...SUPER!!! With all of Franky's upgrades and Luffy's new abilities this could be something incredible to see. Sure Luffy would probably win but the fight would be good regardless, granted it probably won't happen.
Eustass Kidd vs Basil hawkins: These are two characters with two devil fruit powers that I'd just love to see more of, and a fight between them would be phenomenal.
Zoro vs Luffy(Serious Rematch): Just a serious to-incapacitation fight between these two would be great. Plus it would end a stupid argument that's been going on at Onemanga forums debating who is stronger of these two.
Sanj or Luffy vs Doflamingo: Depending on Doflamingo's abilities, either of these could be great. He's pretty much bound to be a villain for the Straw Hats sooner or later, and for some reason in my head that I can't explain, Sanji seems like he'd be a good opponent for Doflamingo. North Blue pride? Idk :P
Honorable mention- Sanji vs Kizaru: If Sanji ever got strong enough to fight on par with Kizaru and this fight were to happen, it'd be Maji and PHENOMENAWESOME! The Kick Master of the Straw Hat crew going up against the world's strongest and fastest kick? Tell me this wouldn't be one heck of a brawl.
Question 2: We know how prates get into the New World but how do they get out? I believe it was said and shown that once a coated ship leaves The Sabaody Archipelago and resurfaces anywhere else, the coating dissapears. If this happens, once the Straw Hats enter the New World and the coating is gone, how would they or any pirate for that matter go under water and/or get back into "Paradise"? Their must be some way, otherwise, the pirates that Kidd grusomely crucified wouldn't have been trying to get back to "Paradise", nor would WHITEBEARD and his allies have been able to get to "The Summit" which was in the first half of the Grand Line. However, the only way I could think of is Mariejoa, and even if a pirate found a way to get over 10,000 meters in the air, no pirate in their right mind would storm into Mariejoa without a game plan. How do you think Pirates get back into "Paradise"?
I'm going to feel really stupid if the way to leave the New World has already been stated :P

So, we were introduced to the idea of proto-type Pacifista… Beyond obvious stuff, what do you imagine the more "complete" Pacifista are capable of? At least, beyond standard "they will be faster/stronger/more durable."
I have a few ideas, mostly that high-quality models will include Seastone, or will have Devil Fruits integrated into their "frame" using the technique that gave us Funkfreed and Lasso.
Oh, and just to clarify: We all agree that the other Pacifista are clones of Kuma right? Franky mentioned advanced sciences like that when he was looking over Vegapunk's notes.

After reading chapter 603, what do you think the chances are that Rodger's straw hat is his ultimate treasure? Much in the way Luffy refers to it as his? I'll go out on a limb here and say that hat could be the ultimate treasure of One Piece. Would love you hear you guys argue over this!

Something I noticed after re Reading the chapter;
Caribou has White, long sleeves. The colour of his logia could just be this colour, as Marineford crocodile often seemed to turn into black sand, like the colour of his cloak. This means that the fruit could be something that isn't White… But I'm not sure. Just throwing it out there.
On a more interesting subject, where is usopp's Kabuto? We haven't seen it yet, it wasn't shown when Usopp fired his pop greens,which makes me think it may have been replaced... Thoughts? -

In episode 474, at around 9:10 they play a really really old piece of One Piece BGM. I personally think its great that they reuse the older BGM. What about you guys? Think they'll do it more this arc?

About what your were talking about on the datacast with Blackbeard.
Blackbeard could have multiple personalities that allow him to have multiple devil fruits. Another thing to note on the three skulls, three fruits thing is the fact that he gave Shanks 3 scars which also doesnt make sense becasue shanks has had that scar for ten years and Blackbeard didnt have any fruits back then.
My question: do you think that Blackbeards interest in bonney is that he wants to live forever or maybe he already has been made to be younger? Could explain the life thing.

In regards to databook green:
Wouldn't it be funny if Oda made Dr. Vegapunk the one who could create amazing weapons and technology but has no idea how to use them.
Also I would love to see the sketch of Kuma on the back cover down near the bottom (near what looks to be Shark Zoro) used as a younger Kuma in a flashback. That would make his bear ears a part of his head and that would make me smile.

Just had a thought, Caribous Logia power could be cement, and he was telling the
fake Straw Hats to dig their own grave so then afterwards he could fill in the

I was thinking while watching the latest episode about Marco's role in the manga compared to the anime. You guys have touched on this before, but do you think the anime director is trying to give Marco more scenes because he felt Oda didn't do enough with him, or do you think Oda intended to do more with him, but couldn't due to timing issues?

I wanted to comment about the way Nami and Robin joined the crew. I noticed that in Nami’s case Luffy put his hat on her (Luffy asked her to become part of the crew). In Robin’s case she put Luffy’s hat on (she asked Luffy to join the crew). That is how I knew that neither Perona nor Boa Hancock was going to be part of the crew. I predict that the new member is going to be a fishman or fishwoman. If it is going to be a female, then my hat theory will be put to the test. Any female that wears Luffy’s hat will be part of the crew. What is your opinion about this theory?

As One Piece 603 came out we find out that luffy and Roger have more of a resemblance. During the flashback we see rayleigh sitting in a boat and being asked by roger to join him and over turn the world. now zoro was the first crew member to join the luffy and we can now see a resemblance between him and rayleigh not only by the scar but they both use swords when fighting is it possible that Rogers crew some what looks like Luffys. Was there a nami or sanji type crew member on rogers ship and if so do u guys believe Oda will refrence back to them. cant wait to hear u guys thoughts about this

I have been watching the current arc in the Anime and have noticed that one of the things I am enjoying the most is the implied filler that involve the Schichibukai's or the WB Commanders fighting either each other or even just random fodder. The last couple scenes in the latest episode where Mihawk and Hancock were kicking ass was great and I am hoping Toei shows that a lot more. I would rather them pad the episode out with that than the out-of-place and ill-timed comedic scenes they are using now…
Also, I know you guys have been down on the Anime latley so I just wanted to let you guys know that this One Piece fan still loves the Anime and is thoroughly enjoying the current arc..

So, I want to spread the love of One Piece to my uninitiated friends and family. Any tips for pitching One Piece without it sounding too kiddy, or conversely too violent? There's a fine line between funny pirates and bloody pirates, and while One Piece walks it perfectly, its hard to describe in a way that makes it sound appealing to the modern teen without giving the wrong idea about what the series is actually about. I need more to say than "It's awesome!" even if it's true ;)
PS-great job at Anime USA! I haven't had a chance to come on here for a long while, and I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the panel and trivia!

Do you think there is anything to Sengoku's Bhudda Statue power and Luffy's Elephant Gun having the same type of shading? Maybe this means that Sengoku's power has been to cover himself with the Color of Armaments because after he hit Luffy in Marineford, Luffy coughed up blood and instantly shrunk to chibi size and that might also explain the Haki Blast that hit BB's crew…
Maybe this is just a new type of Armor Haki that literally hardens your body, because before now, all the other Haki attacks we have seen have been more or less invisible. Who knows, maybe Luffy based this technique off of what he saw from Sengoku in Marineford....
