Aha, now I know what your set is from Chrissie.
EPIC.

I think the big conundrum in this thread is that people are comparing restaurants with different tastes and different locals. If we all live in the same area, things might be a little different. Were I have lived, Indiana and South Carolina, McDonald's has sucked, especially compared to other restaurants.
Wow 0.0 You guys saying that McDonalds puts too much salt on the fries, makes me go lolwut? You can barely taste the salt on the fries McDonalds makes in Cyprus (or at least in Limassol)
I love salty fries. they make me happy. it amazes me when I see people shaking their fries to get their salt off.

It's probably different everywhere, especially outside the US. I do know that the ones they sell by my house are salt with chopped potatoes added.
I think I only had BK once and it sucked. Thankfully it was during a party so I didn't even pay for it.
I'd actually rank BK a little above McD
For the past few weeks, I have had this… desire to eat KFC but there's none in the town I am studying at. T_T; Back in Cyprus there's a KFC close to my house yet every time I am back home I just don't want to eat there. The hell?
I worked at KFC. Made me lose interest in eating there ever again. Behind the counter is so freaking greasy and at least by my house they run out of chicken so often. And the sides are only changed when they run out. Doesn't matter how bad looking they get.
pours a gallon of salt on McDonalds fries

LOL, this is kind of off-topic, but I accidentally flipped the wrong side on my pepper can last night.
I had pepper with a dash of mashed potatoes.

Same thing happened to me after working at Zaxby's. Their morals are terrible, management is irresponsible, cooking methods are sub-par and the food is bland. Hated going home feeling and smelling like grease and raw chicken everyday.
KFC is just… ugh D: The one we'd go to alot where I used to live, I'd always get something that didn't look remotely edible. And the last time they gave me a chicken leg that was almost completely black, the meat was liquidy and hanging off the bone like some charred booger.

You have to do that now since McDonalds destroyed their fries trying to make them "healthier". Adding salt is the only way you get an ounce of flavor for them.
But damn, before the healthy kick, those fries were legendary.

Who said this?
Anyone here eaten Popeyes before? I love it, but half the people around me can't stand it.
ME! I said this! In SC there is too much damn salt! I don't want to use a napkin when eating at a fast-food joint, or have to deal with so much dryness! It got to my sister and now she puts salt on literally EVERYTHING! I never use salt after cooking a meal!

I Love Popeye's but it's a northern restaurant. I'd be hard-pressed to find one here.

McDonalds makes uniformity a core of their business model, so the food you get there is equivalent to McDonalds food elsewhere in the US. If you think it sucks, the restauraunts around you are just that much better.
I like Wendy's hamburgers, but California's top-tier chain is In-N-Out Burger, so that tops my list, followed by Wendy's, Jack, BK and lastly McD.
I'm not really a burger guy though, pizza is my thing.
KoS is probably kicking himself for getting banned right about now.
But he is among us :ninja:
fast food resteraunts in canada sell poutine. :3 just throwing it out there.
What is that ?
I'm not a huge fan of Subway for subs really. Quiznos and Penn Station are better by my standard.
I've tried both and haven't really liked them. Maybe if I went there more and tried it some more I'd like it, though. Subway is delicious. There used to be a sub place by my house called Jersey Mike's and it was pretty good as well. I don't think it's still around, though.
Quizno's I can tolerate, but I refuse to eat there anymore thanks to their constant negative advertising.
If a company has to attack another to draw customers, then their focus is off. :\
I've never had Quizno's but I prefer Firehouse Subs above all. Definitely worth the price and much better quality than subway.
I generally prefer Subway, although I completely tear down its advertising point as a healthy option by asking for no vegetables (at all), extra cheese, and mayonnaise.
There are Popeyes in Oklahoma and Texas, not just in the North.
For Hamburgers I LOVE Whataburger. They are so big and yummy. Also they have the best ketchup ever.
For Pizza my favorite by far is Mazzio's, but I haven't found any in Texas.
McDonalds fries are heaven, but that is it.
I love Wendy's, BK, and Arbys all the same.
My favorite fast food restaurant is the place called Sid's in my hometown. They sell Fried Onion burgers. They are so good, and were featured on "Man Vs Food" on the Travel Channel. Made me proud.
Wing stop is amazing too!
I ate at Whataburger in Amarillo and few years ago and came home sick as a dog. :\
@Brandee: Texas does have Mazzios, though I can never recall seeing one around the Dallas area. I think they're mostly only in East Texas.
I usually only stop in Whataburger to get a sausage biscuit or cinnamon roll (<3) or milkshake. Their burgers are just too massive .__.
Aside from the tainted Wendy's burger, the only other burger place that's made me feel ill was Steak n Shake. I think they just dumped a bucket of grease on my plate because that much dripped out of my sandwich. I take Nexium, and I took some Mylanta too, but I could still feel the heartburn through all of that .__.
Anyone here eaten Popeyes before? I love it, but half the people around me can't stand it.
Meh. The one near me is the only one I've bothered to try and it's ok, but nothing great. No where near the epic level of Churches, but atleast its leagues better then KFC.

I can't wait for them to open the In-N-Out in Dallas. Obviously, no idea if its going to be anything like it is in California, but from what I hear it sounds so delicious _
I had Quiznos one time. It wasn't bad but nothing really crazy. I don't like how you can't really customize it. I like what I get at Subway XD Schlotzsky's however, has always been really nasty to me D:
Chik-Fil-A Lemonade, anyone?
i hate, as a subway employee how they're used to quiznoes and tell me "put what ever goes on it" and walk off to talk on their cell phone" no. get your butt over here and tell me.
i'm not a big fast food person. i always find i'm still hungry after eating burgers and fries
Checkers has the greatest fries I have ever tasted in my life
The best restaurant, in my opinion is my own damn Kitchen!!!!
I can cook up a masterpiece in 30 minutes to an hour, same as my mom, and my father (different houses)

Firehouse Subs avoids that by asking if you want it "Fully Involved"
http://www.firehousesubs.com/
BTW, the subs in the picture IS actually what you get whether it's a footlong or not
Speaking of Subway…
My primary lunch of choice is usually a Buffalo Chicken on either Wheat or Flatbread with pepper jack cheese and lettuce, green peppers, spinach, pickles, jalepenos and cucumbers.
The secondary is the Cold Cut Combo with the same setup but with additional Southwest sauce.
Oven-roasted chicken breast with pepper jack cheese on italian herb bread with spinach.
Kick. Ass.
I almost always get 6-inch turkey on wheat/herbs and cheese with pepperjack and…
I always get a Subway Melt on Honey Oat with provolone cheese, lettuce, onion, and a little mayo.
I envy you people. I would kill to taste the food of half these fast food restaurants, especially Wendy's and KFC.
Good god, what would I give to taste KFC once in my life.
Once,i tried to cook my own fries and my own hamburger. It was DAMN good. The fries were well cooked, same goes for the fries and the quality of the steak was yummy.
Obviously, it was way better than any fast food.

Because fast food chains don't bother to put the yummy extras in with the meat.
Its a chain only really known in northeast New Jersey, but I love Jim Dandy's. Best buffalo style chicken fingers and cheese fries I've ever had.

Popeyes is NOT a northern restaurant. It got it's start in my homestate of Louisiana.

 I feel your pain. but you're not missing out much from KFC, really.
a Wendy's just opened here, but I haven't tried it yet. within like a week of its opening, there came the first massive flood we've had in years and the whole place was wrecked.

Actually to correct myself, it's a selectful restaurant and is only in some states (in my case Indiana NOT South Carlina)

Lol I like my plain Subway sandwich. Ham (or Turkey and Ham, with the special of the day) on Honey Oat with American Cheese, Cucumbers, and Mayo :P

You don't want to taste it. You really, really don't. Try Churches instead, much better.
Let me give you a little insight of what we deal with in our Advertisement VS Reality dilemma.

You are good people.
I like White Castle.
Even though they've turned to dumps these days.

You can get married in them, though.
Overall, I don't like most fast food places. McDonald's hamburgers, I have in recent years grown apart from them. I just started eating Subway and Taco Bell. 5-Layer Burittos are good, and cheap. I usually get a meatball sub. Those are my normal three (I tend to go to Wendy's sometimes), but the area around my school is limited to these four, and the Wendy's is slooooooooow.
I can't wait for them to open the In-N-Out in Dallas. Obviously, no idea if its going to be anything like it is in California, but from what I hear it sounds so delicious _
…...wait, what?
Quiznos Subs had awesome commercials at one point everyone remember the funny looking hamsters?
I was hoping to try White Castle when we went up North but because my friends (from the north originally) didn't like it, they wouldn't stop >_>
…...wait, what?

Second article actually tells where it'll be located for all the local people that would care.
And apparently a second location will be in Fort Worth by mid 2011. Can't wait, more awesome burger places is always a good thing.

YES!!!!!!
XHzeATnKWe4
They aren't bad, but they only exist in the midwest (i.e. not here)
EDIT: You can buy them frozen at Family Dollar stores though.
White Castle isn't really like In-N-Out or Five Guys or anything, if you're expecting a kind of "super burger" place, Arei.
It's really, really cheap burgers and arguably just kind of bad like McDonalds. But people went there for its execution of the tiny burgers and it got its cult following from there, though I'm sure the people who like it actually do like them. But I'd think even today the real "reason" to go to White Castle is to get a bunch of burgers for an inexpensive price. It's actually kind of the inverse of In-N-Out actually.
In better news, speaking of Five Guys, Tucson has a Five Guys now. My remaining months here will be spent in peace. In-N-Out and Five Guys in the same area. Fuck yes.
