I'm certainly happy!
Yeah I heard about it earlier today. I knew it would happen!
My ideas…50-100 years after the first series, Lelouch busts out of his coffin just like a vampire! ZERO IS REBORN.
I just hope the anime doesn't ending up sucking. It was really good. Don't mess up a good thing!!!!!!!!!
All Hail Emperor Lelouch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sniff sniff
What is that? It smells like…GSD.
Naw seriously, if they wanna go on ahead and make another series I'm more than happy to have them take another shot and hope it all works out.
I still haven't watched half of R2 yet, but I ain't holding much hope for this new series, but if its good I'll watch it.
ya, what exactly are they doing? continuing the series some how? or going back and making it properly? I thought the writer was horribly embarraced at it and wanted nothing to do with it anymore?
Well, if they do make another series or OVA or something, it would probably be best if they had it removed from the first series, like it takes place in the past or something (though there would be no Knightmare Frames), or pull a Fullmetal Alchemist and re-do it to follow the original plans for R2. It would be nice if they actually expanded upon the show's metaphysical side, which they kind of swept to the side before.
Oh yeah, a few pages back I mentioned the similarities between the first episodes of Code Geass and Gundam SEED. Since then, I've actually started watching the series proper, and just finished the episode that ended with Arthrun and Cagalli crash-landing on an island in the middle of nowhere. While watching the next episode preview, I thought ''Now where have I seen this before?'' Yep, Kamijima, which Suzaku and Karen. Only difference here is that one of the parties is not in the buff.
I wonder what other simularities I'll find other than people not staying dead.

Nah, that's just a rumor from the people who didn't like R2. You know how people like to justify themselves…
It reality, the director just didn't get to do everything he wanted to do with R2, which would likely be a driving factor behind a possible R3.
Ideas circulating around R3 anyone got any? I say someone breaks the Geass Lelouch had cast….starts up a war again....anyone got any else ideas?
Is there official word that Lelouch is truly dead?
EDIT: Found it
@123:

Is there? What did you find?
Is there? What did you find?
According to the R2 The Complete Official Guidebook
Lelouch is
! dead
anyone reading the manga? is it any good? different? I can't stand the art style, so I can't forse myself to read it.
Uh, which one? I read a little bit of Nightmare of Nunnally a while back and, much like the actual series itself, found myself sniggering through it. I may read a bit more in the future solely for Zero fighting Knightmares on foot in a manner that would do Master Asia proud.

nooooooooooooo
I don't believe it it can't be say it isn't sooooooooooooooooooooo
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
All Hail Emperor Lelouch !!!!!!!!!!!! Long Live the King!!!!!!!!!!!
Shouldn't Lelouch be immortal?
Shouldn't Lelouch be immortal?
Eh no Lelouch wasnt immortal because
! he did not receive the code
oh pleasz, this is all complete bs. they'll most likely bring back Lelouch under the pretext that he was "reborn". called it here first.

I love it.
Hangyaku no Lelouch REBORN!

guh, quite litterely, quit beating a dead horse. give up already. they killed him off, time to move on now. (i;m talking to no one really, just adding my 2 cents)
The fact that I am bumping this thread should be enough of a hint without me having to link to this page.
so they're gonna redo the series? much like NGE is being retold?
Hm, yeah, I had heard that Sunrise wants to turn Code Geass into another meta-series like Gundam. After how infamous R2 turned out to be, I really hope that they know what they're doing if that's the case. Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes of this. It is Sunrise, after all.
Yeah, I heard about it. I'm not really particular about it, whether it's a remake, a sequel, or an entirely new series. I just hope they don't bring Lelouch back to life, and if they do they should do it in a reasonably sensible way.
i hope they redo it without all the nonsense crap in R2. and less fanservice. can we just concentrate on the story without pointless pantyshots, cause the guys have to wank off or something. I don't mind it in moderation, but I feel they overdid it in CG

I'm all for no fanservice altogether, but both of our wishes are going to be ignored.
Sunrise has found success when most anime companies fail due to two criteria:
1. Fanservice.
2. Recycled robo-drama.
They suck at the "manufactured moe" that SHAFT and KyotoAni have mastered, and don't have the fanbase of Gainax that never dies since Gundam fans cycle every eight years.
That said, I would love to see another Geass treatment. Sort of like in a visual novel where there are alternate "routes" one can take by decision, we get the opportunity to see explored plot lines that couldn't have been realized later.
For example.
What if Suzaku, in the very first episode, had killed Lelouch? Then through a series of events we end up seeing him turn into a Lelouch-like character, but cause more harm from his position in the Britannian military. Then he gets into that sexual relationship with Cecil that was dropped, we get to see his connection to Geass that was dropped, and perhaps less of a tech-tree arms race that was so ridiculous in R2.
(note that part of what made R2 fun was making fun of it! How dare they take that away from us?)
Hopefully Nina is killed this time.
I just want a happy ending for Lulu, goddamnit.
i thought that was what he wanted. for the world to be a better place, and for nunally to be happy. I view it as a happy ending, even if he had to sacrifice himself to achieve his goals.
Umm, I'm not sure why everyone here thinks LuLu died. When I watched it I always felt, along with a ton of hidden clues along the way, that he staged his death.
To me I always believed he left peacefully and quietly with C.C. and that he was the stagecoach rider in the end sequence.
One of the major clues had something to do with the folding of 1000 cranes wish. There was many others tho.
In any case I never believed LuLu really died and if he did he's immortal with the other Double letters code(sorry it's been along time since I watched this). Basically LuLu became exactly like C.C.
That's what I thought when I finished watching it. It really seemed to me to be a happy ending, only to those who pieced together all the clues.
Lelouch is dead. He bled the fuck out after being stabbed after planning to be killed after "punishing" Suzaku with his job. He's dead. He is among the Collective Unconscious, which is how C.C. was talking to him. And frankly, I'd rather have a sequel, because Lelouch being alive would be too… Well god dammit, it'd be a shitty cop-out.
Unless they take the kind of route the manga books took, like Terek mentioned. That'd probably make more sense, since after R2, there's pretty much no more need to do anything with that timeline. Lelouch succeeded, the world is happy and peaceful, there's no need to shoehorn another conflict in there.
I just want a happy ending for Lulu, goddamnit.
I just want a happy ending for Shirley, provided they go that route, but somehow I don't think they will. Anyway, this cropped up recently.
Newtype January issue announced a new manga series to be serialized on Shonen Ace magazine
The new Newtype issue also mentions that the story script is fully written by anime director Gorō Taniguchi. The same guy who was the director of both S1 and S2 of the Code Geass anime. Also, The story takes place in the Edo era.
Also the Suzaku look-alike is apparently named Renya, and supposedly that is C.C., but she's called Reifu C.C. Whatever that means.
lol im watching this…looks good...
okay bumping an old thread instead of making a new one mainly coz i am not sure if its ture
but looks like there is going to be a season 3
http://geass.jp/new_project/index.html
can someone also translate the main points there?
Isn't it that 8th MS Team-esque thing that was pitched earlier in the year?
Isn't it that 8th MS Team-esque thing that was pitched earlier in the year?
i have absolutely no idea… there are a lots of rumors going on about it. and Google translate isn't helping
It's supposedly Geass set in the Edo Era where Lelouch and Suzaku are playing their ancestors. Feels gimmick-y IMV.
from ANN (yea crap and not relaiable i know)
Update 4: The franchise's computer website has posted a page devoted to the new project. The page has a message from Code Geass producer Yoshitaka Kawaguchi. According to Kawaguchi, the new project will feature the simultanteous releases of comic series, music, new products under development, and visual works. More details will be revealed in the January issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine, which ships this week.
so January issue… was there anything :s

The long awaited continuation to Code Geass has finally been announced as taking the form of a new gaiden.
The continuation is entitled コードギアス GAIDEN 亡国のアキト / Code Geass GAIDEN Boukoku no Akito, “The Ruined Land of Akito.”The show is unsurprisingly to be produced by Sunrise, with the expected CLAMP character design. Direction is said to be by former Sunrise employee and Gundam veteran Kazuki Akane; he is now probably best know for directing Birdy the Mighty.
The announcement itself comes by way of bonus material included with the “Kiseki no Tanjobi” event disc. The story is vaguely summarised thusly:
a.t.b 2017. A KnightMare unit of 11 youths embark on an operation to save their comrades stranded on the European front, their odds of success only 5%.
Just how this fits in with established canon is not yet clear, but it does appear an entirely new cast will be featuring.
ANN is useless. Here's a better link. http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/04/22/code-geass-gaiden-boukoku-no-akito-announced/
Sankaku
Better
Uh well, I'm actually not sure about this one. XD
For Code Geass. The posts give more info usually for Geass.

No one posted it so here, Chapter 01 of the new manga was out by CXC scans june 25th. Looks to be a monthly.

well i found the info for this so i decided to make a official discussion for it. heres the info.quote:
"Bandai has recently announced their continuation of their hit show code geass, due for release sometime in 2010. It has now been confirmed that a new code geass anime will indeed be making it’s debut sometime this year. However it is still unknown if this will be a continuation, sequel or just a simple remake. More information on code geass r3 will be released on this site when made available."
Found this news, on this site –> Code Geass R3
Now regarding this image…
quote:
Bandai’s mobile phone website, m-pub.channel.or.jp is hosting an image that reads as follows:
New Code Geass Project Launch Green-Lit!
The image also adds that this project represents a “Rebirth” and that Geass will take a new step starting today. The message is signed with the name, “ZERO.”
In the January 2009 issue of Gakken’s Animedia magazine, the Sunrise anime studio indicated the possibility of more plans for its Code Geass science-fiction franchise. Sunrise created and animated the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series and its R2 sequel. Sunrise did not indicate the format that any hypothetical future plans might take. The Adult Swim television programming block ran Bandai Entertainment’s adaptation of the R2 sequel in North America.
This is good news for all Code Geass fans! After all the petitioning, all the whining, and all the complaining, Code Geass Season 3 is finally going to hit the Green Screen.
Found that in here –-> Code Geass Season 3
Season three does not mean the same thing as "R3". It could be anything from that Edo era Geass saga made anime, to a complete reinterpretation of the series.
But it's not R3 unless the Taniguchi sings.
Pretty old news
http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=10590&page=50
Wasn't this not an anime series, but a sort of light novel/manga?
