Yeah, I used a 100$ gift certificate on the Samus statue and after it gets here, still comes to 25$ just for FedEx shipping which was the only option they'd give me, and then 27$ customs when the actual item was only 99-119$.
It's less than the price but still, terrible. I don't know why they can't offer USPS First Class or something so it may get to Canada without the outrageous courier fees.

The reason for this is they need effective tracking for insurance reasons, and they need a company that pays out insurance claims in a reasonable time. Neither of which USPS does for international shipments. As a Canadian who does a lot of cross-country shipments (both from within Canada and the US), Fed Ex is definitely the best option for a company like Sideshow. Within the US? Yeah, I'd prefer if they used USPS, but whatever.

Their shipping is actually a much nicer value for larger pieces. I had that massive Zangief statue shipped to me for like $30 (+customs fees).

Has anyone used FedEx to get shipments from asia yet? I wanted to upgrade my DX Ace and they gave me a choice between EMS and FedEx, but FedEx is like 75% cheaper.

I know this isn't all that exciting since crease it back and all, but I got my Nami styling figure in the mail today, the one from the most recent set and she's just sooo cute x3 set her RIGHT next to my monitor so I can stare at her whenever I want to :D fufufufuuf

Last time I used Fedex was from Amazon.co.jp. They shipped it out on Wednesday and I got it in CA on Thursday afternoon. Was the fastest service I'd ever seen. That was for all the One Piece movies on Blu-ray at the time…..they're certainly faster than EMS from what I see but the catch is....they have their own "custom decalaration" setup that doesn't go through the customs office that they evaluate themselves AND THEN send the payment to the customs office later because they value delivery time more....so what happened was they imposed false duty on me for DVDs because there are no duties for DVDs importing into the US (just like toys and figures). Just gave them a phone call and cleared it up after I stated the article #'s from the custom's import duty guide. Hope this helps Maggie.

I'm almost tempted to get Nami too, but paying about 10 bucks shipping on one tiny figure making it about 20 bucks for such a small figure probably isn't worth it, but for Franky, it WAS!!! I love it,he's just.. SOO CUTE XDDDDDD I wanna take an updated pic of my collection probably after the end of the year once I get the rest of my P.O.P's, which I hope would be the 2 Nami's, Zoro's suit version from SW, and Franky's SW P.O.P. Got my fingers crossed x3

Do you mean the Treasure Gate one? I got that set, and yeahh nami and robin are nice, but nami's leaning a bit too much.

AmiAmi is very good but I'd have to say Hobby Search for customer service since they let you cancel orders whenever you want via email.

regarding amiami and hobby search … i've to admit that since amiami is cheaper i buy from them. but since i started using hobby search too (thanks to their 50% off of shipping campaign) i really like them. as nia already said .. you can't really view your orders at amiami so sometimes it's hard for me to keep track. i also have to drive to the customs office to get my packages from them .. which sucks. hobby search on the other hand has an overview of your orders, you get points for every order ... and their shipping is great. :) if they'd be cheaper i'd switch to them for my big figures. other than that i'm still using HLJ. :)

So far out of HLJ, Amiami and HS, I like HS best. They seem to have the quickest response when you have a question. Their prices aren't bad either.

Well, I finally got DX Jinbei and Doflamingo from HLJ today. I'm definitely satisfied with them but they sure have their share of issues. Jinbei's paint is pretty bad - the black, white, and orange bleed a lot, and on mine there's a big white dot right in the middle of his beard. Doflamingo is actually fine, besides the granny-face and boring pose.

beware that ebay is full with bootlegs of this set. Beside some small painting errors. they do look good.
I only hope its not one of those series. Popy / Plex does only one serie for.

I really like those character only displays _ hopefully someday i have enough BB for something like that. (should not be that hard)

Filling my new cabinets with stuff. I have now a OP section So much better then all over the place.
