lol
AC was just all over the place,I actually liked movie 8 though this ep just felt like you missed the first 5 minutes of every scene.

I haven't read the manga for this part of the series but even I can tell something was off here. It felt like there was no real closure to the last arc. It just happen.
"Oh! The big bad guys is gone! Time to move on!"
I mean the last two openings didn't help in keeping the ending of this arc a surprise but I would have liked it if we got some sort of closure at least to make it felt like most of the loose ends were closed.
-
After watching the episode I liked it, the best part of the ep was seeing shadow gear vs. Gajeel. An here I wasn't expecting to see that until at least episode 44.
-
It should've… Or at least at episode 43.
-
Well even thought I still liked the episode, I agree they should have ended the episode with Sho and co leaving and put everything else in the next episode.
-
It would of been great to see Luxus pwn that afro monkey looking dude.
-
Just curious, but I was reading through this topic and saw multiple mentions of uncertainty that the anime wouldn't go past the Luxux arc.
Why do you guys say this?
-
Mainly because the anime seems to be going out of its way to avoid bringing up future plot elements. For instance, Gildarts was mentioned in the manga fairly early on, but wasn't in the anime. Also, the most recent episode cut out a lot of key scenes important for the long term, such as the reveal that Zeref was never sealed and Ultear is working for Hades, and the scene between Igneel and Grandine that hints at something big being set into motion once Natsu and Wendy meet. They could just be trying to avoid getting ahead of themselves and leaving lots of loose ends if the show for some reason suddenly came to an end, but it is suspicious.
If they aren't going to cover the whole thing, or take a hiatus, I personally feel that the Oracion Seis would be a better place to end at, since they've already cameoed the Oracion Seis members in the anime during Erza's flashback, and the power scale, if nothing else, of the final boss is more of a threat than Laxus. They'd still end with the plot threads of why Mystogan looks like Jellal and Ivan dangling (unless they skip that scene too) either way however.
-
Gildartz was never mentioned in the anime , the last episode consisted of five chapters , where the parts with Igneel were cut , along with the scene with Urtear , revealing that all Gerard did was futile because Zeref was never dead .
-
One whole week and I don't get my dose of Lucy bending over…bummer..
-
We'll have to see what happens. It's not impossible for them to revisit the important scenes they skipped over later on. Maybe they're not sure whether it will continue or not.
While I'd rather see a filler arc to get a few more arcs animated, it may be better for them to go on hiatus and try and fix their mistakes in a second season.
-
are those scenes really that important though?
igneel mentioning wendy, whatever we meet her sooner or later, who care about a bit of forshadowing
or urtear being shown as puppet master. you can figure that out on your own. she was puppet master in an earlier arc and has been seen with gerard many times, oh and guess what she is still around.
-
So would you be perfectly all right with the One Piece anime completely omitting scenes like the Warlord meeting at Mariejois and the elders in Jaya? Or for that matter, Whitebeard's first appearance? Foreshadowing major future events? Who needs it?

not saying i woudl be happy, or that am happy they skipped these scenes in fairy tail.
but that first warlord meeting or first WB meeting and other things while cool and yes forshadowed were not needed. Not hearing of blackbeard before the ace incident would not have changed anything. Not seeing whitebeard until he showed up at the war would not have changed anything.

This post is deleted!

How the fuck would I know Urtear had coaxed Gerard by pretending to be Zeref , in order to awaken Zeref undisturbed , because he was in fact never dead ? I mean no anime only watcher could ever guess that , outside of some far fetched speculating with nothing to base their claims on , not in a million years .
That's like saying we don't need to see Blackbeard fighting Ace to become a warlord , but simply seeing him as one and guessing "Hey he must have defeated Ace !" .
-
Yeah, the only way to tell in the anime that Ultear was working for Zeref was the fact that the specter that appears to Jellal in the flashback had the same voice. That's it. And even then, Miyuki Sawashiro voices like three other characters on the show.

urtear pretending to be zeraf?
i had no idea, she was the thing that possessed him when he was young?
i never really understood what she was doing in the first place, why did she want him to make this huge tower to bring back a guy that was not dead?
and who says she was working for zeraf? she is working for some dark guild. we have never ever seen zeraf or have any idea where he is
-
Because this magic is already considered incredibly dangerous by the council and would draw their atention while she could go about and try to lift the seals .
-
They might be just rearranging plot parts for later episodes.

To be fair though, while all of that should have happened in this weeks episode, what's to say that some of it won't happen in the future when it's actually relevant such as Ultear's true allegiance and the fate of Zeref being sealed.
I can very easily seeing them saving the Igneel and Grandine scene for right before the Oracion Seis arc starts, as it would actually be fresh in the mind, and make a little more sense.
-
I thought that too, that perhaps these important hints that are also insignificant, will be moved around and shown at better times.
I think it's a good idea personally.
-
Still as an anime only person, did all the plot points got tied up for the last arc? The Tower of Heaven arc? Because to me it felt like some things were left untied like what happen to Gerard and what was the faith of the Council.
-
Those two plot points come up later on during the Oracion Seis arc, so the anime hasn't mucked up there yet. Amusing it gets that far.
-
started reading this manga and it looks good so far…..so does the anime have alot of filler like bleach or what?? can u guys tell me wut episode/arc is a filler, imma skip it :D
-
Not a lot of filler episodes at all. I can only remember 2 myself, and imo they were decently entertaining, if not spectacular. Ep 9 and 19.
From what i can remember a couple of the first few anime eps are kinda badly done though. If you find them hard to watch skip to episode 11 or something. It starts to get better from there. -
Not too much . Watch episode 19 though .
-
basically no filler what so ever.
one full episode, then maybe a little thrown in here or there
-
Though you can't really tell if this anime will have filler like Bleach, Naruto and such since there are just 41 episodes out.
Most anime don't have filler arcs when they start. -
Bleach didn't get filler until the 60s
Naruto didn't until 102 or so
One Piece go theirs at 54.Seeing how far the manga is ahead, i don't see us getting too much filler until the 80th episode or so (assuming we get that far)
-
At the pace of the anime I can be sure that they are going to speed through this arc and get into the OS arc as soon as possible since they have been hinting that for a while.
-
So the festival started.
I hope we'll see some great animated battles!
-
one piece and fairy tail are kind of in the same boat right now anime wise.
i hope both show more of the fights than the manga did in each respective wars
-
Yeah. It seems like they are going to speed though this arc. I was hoping that it would last long but doesn't look like.
Still does this episode suffer the same like last and skipped a lot of material? Also does it seems like this series is going to go for 52 episodes?
-
3 chapters this time. I don't believe anything was skipped besides Lucy claiming she will wash Natsu's scarf. Oh, and of course, no mention of Gildartz either.
-
Speaking of Natsu's scarf, I wonder how long it's going to be until we learn how he got that huge scar that it covers up. Looks like someone picked up an axe and nearly decapitated him.
-
Scar ? Where did you get that ?
Oh and if only he had succeeded :(
-
Natsu had the scar when Igneel found him IIRC
He got the scarf from igneel tooI liked the episode but I wish they were spending more time with this arc but it seems like they really want to get into OS for some reason.
-
@No:
Scar ? Where did you get that ?
The story so far hasn't called any attention to it, but early on in the story Natsu passed his scarf and vest off on Lucy for some Erza-related gag and you could see that there's a big scar on the side of his neck, like, as I said, someone tried to hack his head off but stopped partway through.
See if you can look for it during scenes where they're at the beach, or swimsuit colorspreads where he's not wearing the scarf to see if you can find the scar. I'm pretty sure it's visible on a colorspread from the Oracion Seis arc that was announcing the anime.
-
i believe he has been consistent on his drawings and has drawn the scar in about every scene that it shoudl be visible
-
i change my opinion from before. FT is better then i thought from reading further.
-
Okay. That isn't as bad as before. The only problem I had with this episode was the rush pacing and the sexism but everything else was good.
Still this question comes from somebody who hasn't read the manga (Well I only read the end of the current arc) but is it possible for them to cover all of this arc and this OC arc before episode 52? Since it seems like they are either rushing though arcs or trying to end this with episode 52.
-
Oracion Seis is like a year's worth of material, and the Laxus arc is a little less than half that, so unless they tact on their own ending or take a hatchet to the source material, there's no way in hell they could do that under normal circumstances.
-
Ouch. That doesn't sounds good either. It seems like they may close it off after this arc if they end it at 52. Still it just seems kind of strange and anti-climatic after having a somewhat good arc before it. (Minus what his name being involve in the arc.)
-
Well the current arc is ending so they have that. But yeah, am getting very worried about this now. They really need a filler arc in between this and the next story arc otherwise…yeah this anime ain't gonna last long. Rather ironic really. The Rave Master anime had the problem of being too slow, and this is the exact opposite. Go fig.
-
At this rate, Laxus arc is ending at Episode 49. I could see OS taking up till Episode 61. Hm, not unheard of to end it at 61 I guess.
-

Still did they animate the whole manga series or did they gave it an anime only ending? I remember it was anime ending one but then again that was years ago.
-
Rave anime didn't really have an ending. They pretty much just ended it saying see you next time or some crap like that.
-
Rave got the Inuyasha ending IIRC. I hope that doesn't happen with FT but they could do like OP and stretch eps out like crazy.
