Can't say Kubo is completely talentless. I thoroughly enjoyed Bleach up to the end of the Soul Society Arc. I even remember the initial invasion of Hueco Mundo entertained me. Chad acquiring his Diablo arm and Ishda pulling a light saber! Does this excuse him from his current work?

The guy's spent the greater part of this manga on fighting this god-like race of 'Kings' which were just killed, can't even be bothered to properly finish an element he introduced in the manga, gave a possible villain a ridiculous 'REVENGE' backstory, had the main antagonist literally sprout butterfly wings from his ass, and is so oblivious to the fact readers have continuously gotten annoyed and dropped Bleach because of it all and yet believes he's the complete shit and it's still good as ever.
If nothing else, that last part would certainly qualify him as incompetent. I won't even go into his other twitter issues.

While Halibel's BG seemed a bit of a Grimmjow ripoff, it wasn't that bad in depicting her when he couldn't…that and her Hollow form at least gives her boobs more support and makes them seem less fake than her other forms.

I'm not just looking at his present work when I asses the manga. I give it an overall point of view so when I say he's not completely incompetent I'm giving most of the credit to his past accomplishments. The majority of that being the Soul Society Arc and anything before it.
So that brings us to what's left and what's left to judge is a little more than half the manga. He's ruining it (ruined it) but I still can't call him "completely incompetent" due to that shinning gem in his past (That being the Soul Society Arc). Truthfully, I think what makes the Soul Society Arc look so great even now is the crap Kubo hands us makes anything before it, nostalgic past Bleach material, seem like gold. So yes, he's getting there to being a completely incompetent manganka but not yet. Even now he has some material, characters, and story line he can delve into to give his manga some light. Uhonaha for instance still holds great interest. Ishada's father is still a mystery. Ichigo's mom, Squad 0, the King, are just a few more interests to me. Only if he ruins those could I declare him completely and irrevocably incompetent.

Even before then during Karakura, when his art had something more than faux-coolness and characters seemed to exist as actual people, it was no more than your average school days piece of fiction with cookie-cutter characters and a supernatural twist to it. And as you've said yourself, everything after Soul Society has taken up over half of the series existence; at that point it was simply a matter of him taking more notes out of Toriyama's book than Togashi's. At least the Simpsons had the excuse of having someone else do it for all this time.

No, him showing up with a bunch of Quincies in roughly one day so they can get raped by Aizen is not 'awesome'. It's stupid, and would be pointless filler.

Is this more fan theory on Ichigo's mom being a Hollow or a Demon or some other stupid shit? We already know it's Saiyan/Human hybrid crap, especially because Kubo couldn't make up his fucking mind and decided to make a switcheroo in the chapter after Isshin showed up. There's no reason why she'd be brought back, especially if the anime is being followed at all.

I see, this would explain our different outlooks since the progression of the manga stems from Kubo's first major arc. Bleach had a great start for me so I give it more grace as it slopes downhill, hoping (oh false hope?) that it can be the way it used to be. If I felt the SS Arc was overrated I'd have a more no nonsense stance for the rest of the manga too.

The fact people say 'everyone's scared of her' is a reason that she's interesting has always been nonsense to me. The girl people don't want to piss off because of her 'wrath' is a Shonen stereotype that's been around for ages, and I assume people are basing this one off her conversation with the 11th Squad guys at the end of SS. Given the context of what she was saying, I cannot understand the hype people get from it.
And between -not- getting a fight, and all the fights involving women in this manga, I don't feel strongly about whatever she does in the future.

The new episode featured Hallibel's flashback this week. It was… decent for what it was. A 16 minute backstory to a character I could care less about. But the end was pretty cool and it did tie into the lying sack of shit Aizen is pretty well.
So next week we see Hiyori cut in half, or we get to see how the anime manages to cover that up... Then we see some shit in Hueco Mundo, and then it's fillerama with genie and the magical lamp according to the title. Guh...
