Wait a bit before speculating about Bonney.
She's an interesting character so I don't want her to be Perona 2.0
So please just shut up unless something actually happens

That's pretty much exactly how I feel. She's bound to have an interesting back story and plot. But as of now, she has not even met Luffy. The speculating can wait a little.
Yep random encounters don't mean anything, I mean Ace drinking with Buggy didn't do anything for Buggy story wise later on.
Yeah, it was important, since it gave her screentime and established that she would be one of the more important supernovas.
@Superbear:
No, no, no, it was something mentioned in a SBS about the next crew member being a former boss. Boss doesn't have to amply to an enemy.
"Bosu Kyara", as in someone they fought. English translations and acronyms are irrelevant.
Which left people scratching their heads as that's guys like croc and moria.
I don't want to be mean, but I'm lmfao @ Usopp being considered a legit pirate captain prior to joining the crew.
I can see you already being corrupted
I also was nice in the beginning

And Perona sama is the only viable candidate who still fits this description. horo horo horo.

The last two "nakamates".
1.) Jewelry Bonney
2.) Sabo
3.) A ninja
I win.
Bon-chan and hatchan i say
Enel D:
Bon-chan and hatchan i say
Bon-chan doesn't have a backstory, and considering his huge role in Impel Down if he was going to get one then there would've at least been snippets of it there.
While Hatchan does have a backstory with slavery and all, he's not about to abandon his lifelong dream of running a takoyaki shop to join Luffy's crew. Besides, he and Keimi have a thing going on.
Not to mention that the slavery backstory is shared by a multitude of characters, and will most likely be part of the backstory of even more characters to come when the Straw Hats reach Fishman Island.
Enel D:
You know, there's actually very little evidence against Eneru joining up. All I can think of is that he's an insane killer with a god complex and his willingness to slaughter the innocent could give Akainu a run for his money. But I'm sure that's all because of his tragic past.
Actually I find it quite amusing, the idea of Enel joining the crew, when they would have knowledge of Haki and could use it without problems, just imagine his facial expressions D:
Just because people are flinging random ideas around now, I wouldn't mind Moria joining, but he has Absalom/Hogback still and to our knowledge still wants to be Pirate King, so I recognize IT WON'T HAPPEN unless Oda pulls some major changes with his story that I highly doubt will happen.
prays no one actually takes this random desire to heart and makes absurd theories
For the record, I'd vote "none", just felt like throwing out a random non-candidate I'd like to see join since that seems to be the cool thing to do now.

See, I think this is what we should see more of in this thread instead of pointless back-and-forth arguing about who will join and who won't. Stuff like "if so-and-so joined then this might happen…" and such. Like, recognizing that Moria won't join but still discussing what would happen IF he did, or producing possible interactions between him and the rest of the crew.

I was being sarcastic, but yeah I was bit excited; I'll wait before I speculate further. There's no doubt that she'll be important later on though, to be honest her crew wasn't that interesting to begin with so, losing them now is no big deal.

Well, admittedly that's still fairly pointless since he won't join at all, but yeah about his interaction…
Moria's personality just isn't a good fit with the SHs, so it's more that I'd like to see more of him. I have a soft spot for lazy villains that aren't complete assholes (Spandam's arguably not lazy just weak, but he was an ass). He'd just kind of take up space, be lazy, and hope to be PK, in other words not SH material.
Basically anyone from the TB arc doesn't have a personality that would mesh well with the SH crew. Moria's too lazy and has Luffy's dream, Perona's too spoiled, Absalom's a near-rapist, and Hogback is twisted.
Basically if I could make a crew in spite of failings with logic, timeline, and good story, I'd go with the SHs + Moria, Enel, Buggy, Iceburg, and Norland. All of the additions should be obvious without an explanation as to why they'd be unable to join and I'm not the type to obsess and fanfic on how they could. Just stating shameless fan desire like everyone else in the thread this last half a page.
why is moria being discussed, he is obviously too big
he couldn't fit in the doors and thus franky would need to change the size and the boat would capsize, duh

Haha, he's being discussed with full knowledge he won't join. Like I said, just shameless desire like the majority of this thread, with the difference being I know it's a shameless desire that'll never happen. But you're right, AGOG's theory of doors rules out poor old Moria  It also rules out Perona (parasol/umbrella too big). Sorry Perona fans, but even your most zealous defender knows she can't join.
Moria for nakama, huh. Let me thin-HELL NO!

No shit Sherlock… it was said in the very post he was brought up with that he wouldn't join. I was more trying to make a point as to how people are saying whatever character they like will join now since Bonney was brought up, and then Bon-chan, and Enel...
Iceburg for nakama! /sarcasm (I just know someone's going to respond to this vehemently even in jest... :getlost:)

has anyone noticed that oda has just said to us (indirectly) that the next crewmate isnt boa, jimbei or perona
they werent in Strong world
I agree on none of them joining, but Strong World isn't canon anyway…
why isnt it?
it was written by oda

So were the Romance Dawn pilots, what's your point.
Also how does it even refute those three candidates.
Being in Strong World or not has nothing to do with anything.

Fuckin' hell….here we go again...
well judging by luffys strength alone, a significant improvment over the old luffy (being able to beat up a legendary pirate) strong world happened after the reunion of the SHs
(im not sure of this but it makes sense)
if they have reunified and theyve continued with their journey and the other 3 havent tagged along then that shows that they didnt join

You don't read the manga do you.

Sengoku and Garp still had their positions in the movie, your argument is invalid as of last chapter. SW isn't canon.

Yeah, about that, we've been over this. Many times.
Sengoku resigns his position as Fleet Admiral in the manga.
Sengoku is Fleet Admiral in Strong World.
EDIT: Dammit, I'm too slow.
Why does SW need to be canon again.

That is wrong. It's been stated many times before that it is canon . It fits into the OP timeline(Strong World happened after the Thriller Bark arc and before the Sabaody Archipelego arc) and has also been written and directed by Oda. He even made an volume for it too.

You think Bleach and Naruto are decent and that Aizen is a good villain… And you also think SW is canon when it's been sad a million times it isn't. Brook says his first battle as a SH was with the Flying Fish Riders, yet he fought fodder in SW too. It can't happen before SA and can't happen after either. It ISNT CANON. By your logic both Romance Dawn stories are canon, so Silk and Galley are on the crew and Garp is both a Marine and a pirate.
nothing one piece anime related is canon.

And it's been repetidely stated that It can't happen there because Zoro is at top shape. And that voyage lasted less than 2 weeks.
The Volume 0 is filled with sketches for the movie and chapter 0, that besides fanservice (as in seing our beloved characters younger), full disclosure of Shiki's past and some hints about Roger's personality, doesn't impact that much the plot. We'll probably get bigger Roger moments down the line.

And whatever happened to that lovely little treasure charm Luffy always wore until Impel Down? Did he just decide not to wear it that one day?
Strong World isn't canon. At least for now. Shiki was mentioned in Impel Down arc by Sengoku and judging by the way he said, nothing like Strong World happened.
Oda initially planned Shiki for a future arc until Toei told him to do Movie 10, so he used Shiki for the Movie's plot.
I hope this near death experience taught Moria the value of having a healthy diet.
strong world was a dream sequence.
If an former boss is suppose to be a crewmate down the line, then my guess will be arlong once we reach fisherman island saga. I find that more plausible then moria or croc. Moria has hogback and absalom. I doubt he will just throw them away to join the sh.

So after Hatchi says Arlong is still in jail you're just hoping Arlong will be on the next island?
LOL Moria has a better chance of being that former boss that joins the crew than Arlong.
hmm forget about the jail part. Now it seems less likely. I am stumped then. I have no idea what former boss will join.
Bellamy. <(**<)
Smells of cheap whiskey, and failure.
For the moment, the only character that still have a slight chance (=5%) of joining is Perona. I think it's over for the 2 others.
But you're right, AGOG's theory of doors rules out poor old Moria  It also rules out Perona (parasol/umbrella too big). Sorry Perona fans, but even your most zealous defender knows she can't join.
Oh damn, someone kick Zoro off the ship then - his swords are too long to fit through the doors sideways. Honestly, I'm not in the "Perona will join" camp, but that's a silly argument.
@Zik:

At best, I think Moria will show up to team up with Luffy/provide exposition once the crew meets Kaidou. That's the only reason I can think of as to why he survived, aside from providing a way to permanently take Perona out of the running for this topic.
Seriously speaking the strawhat color theory destroys all candidates chances at joining. Each strawhat has a color. No one else can have that color.
The next character to join must have the color scheme of white or grey.
Edit: This just in, Perona could totally be white. The Ghosts some of her clothing. PERFECT!
