You're having problems with an mkv? Could be how it is encoded. They have worked for me…

Wired. It's not always that bad, sometimes I have to pause for 5 minutes to watch 5 minutes.

VLC can barely run it. Windows media player plays it with no problems at all.

That's peculiar. Usually VLC/MPC-HC wouldn't have any problems, granted optimization. Consider reinstalling any codec packs you may be using (CCCP, CoreAVC recommended).
Not familiar with the earlier units so it may be something related to that.

I'm not a fan of VLC at all, either, but some people swear by it.
MPC-HC is the best option, really.

This movie made my night! Certainly it was far from perfect. The scenes dragged at times and I'm disappointed that Robin and Franky really didn't get too much action. Still loved it though, and Shiki was a pretty decent villain. The art/animation in HD on my new 32 inch TV was beautiful beyond description.
Also, I have to comment on this. The Nami fanservice in this movie was almost too much to handle at times. :ninja:

Embarrassing if you're around others, lol, but true fanservice if you're watching it alone, lol. (Wow, that sounds wrong kind of…) Well, there was only a few scenes that stuck in my mind, but it's not like Oda focused on the fanservice much outside of those few scenes. When things got serious, so did he. That was one of my issues with movie 7 - they focused too much on the fanservice and not enough on the plot.
I watched the original trailer in English and couldn't help but laugh and think of the One Piece Podcast when I heard "He is MAJI."
I really wish I could have the Episode 0 DVD. They featured images in the booklet so I thought it was included, but I guess I was wrong.

Granted that would be the sensible thing to do but…...I realy don't know that much about Japanese DVD Exclusives policies .

Just finished watchin it finally. Really good movie over-all. Nami was as sexy as ever :wub:….a bit disapointed that bein a legend on par with the likes of Roger...Garp etc...he was defeated...but oh well

Yeah, I can't believe Shiki was beaten sort of easily. I guess Shiki's power went downhill. The fights were really good, the animation was superb. If only the regular anime had that kind of budget.
I have to say, Robin's outfit was very hot. I love seeing women wear those long sweaters with stripes. I saw a MILF the other day wearing something like that, but the stripes were blue and if she bent over, I could definitely see everything…sorry got carried away.

I said "if" she bent over, she didn't, but everyone at that Chick Fil-A was staring at her, even other women. She was one of those rich stay at home moms, because she looked well-taken care of. Those MILFs have nothing else better to do than work out and look hot. lol

Episode 0 is an OVA. It's an animated adaptation of chapter 0.
Those episodes are probably 426-429, which was a brief filler story that was supposed to tie in to Movie 10, set things up, but they turned out to be really, really bad and were only barely connected to the movie. 429 is really the only one worth watching, since it has a good fight, and some fanservice in the form of key scenes from the Arlong arc reanimated and a speaking cameo by Shiki at the very end. The others are awful. Stay away from them.

I downloaded the MKV from INP for Strong World. But when I play it on my player, there is no sound. :(
I know that it can work MKV's, since I used mkv files before for other episodes, but now it doesnt want to work anymore. Can anyone help me? I use KMPlayer, and im going to download VLC and see if that changes anything. -
Just watched the movie (720p blu-ray version from INP), glorious! Really enjoyed it.
They balanced a lot of great stuff well. The side character plot of the feathered village folk was nice, and given just the right amount of time without any long sappy flashbacks of their hardships, but enough for us to care. Nami really shined, and Shiki was a very solid villain, plus Luffy and the crew all had their cool moments. Good humor, good drama. And beautifully animated!
And it was fun seeing the crew dressed all classy gangster style, and firing huge guns like in some of those Oda color pages, cool stuff.
Only a couple nitpicks, one being Robin seemed to get the least time to shine out of everyone, always wanted more of her on there. Also, I would've liked to see Luffy give Shiki a more thorough pummeling in gear second, a longer fast sequence of fighting/beat-down before the finisher.
All in all, very satisfying, awesome film. Easily the best One Piece movie.

The only thing I can think of for Shiki's defeat is that his powers diminished over 20 years of lying dorment and doing nothing. He was still pretty strong, but more around Rob Lucci strength than Gold Roger strength.
And Shiki's power and sword skills really are awesome. I honestly would bet that if Luffy were facing him back in Gold Roger's day, things wouldn't have gone as easy.

! After the credits you get a VERY brief scene with teh winged arm people and Billy being happy and flying around and I believe the scene where you see Nami talk into the Tone Dial has been extended slightly. Beyond these 2, I'm not sure about any other extra bits (only saw the film once)

Finally saw it. It was okay.
Looked a little bit like they tried to put as many cool colorspreads as possible in one movie. But that isn't a bad thing. :)
