Didn't Franky and Robin said the amount of years that passed since they entered the grand line in the chapter they reached the other half of the red line? I assume that at least Robin's case could help you to calculate the time that has passed since Luffy started his big bad adventure.
ONE PIECE: MOVIE 10 ~ Strong World

No, everyone was just saying it felt like it's been so long, is all.
I don't believe Oda said it hasn't been a year yet, that was Toei reps at a con who said that.
-
No he hasn't>.>
Yes he has
He said that Luffy is the same age as when he began his journey, hence it has not yet been a year.
I don't see how it would be anyway. Most archs only take a couple of days to complete.
Alvida and Morgan - 1 day
Kuro Arch - 2 Days
Jaya - 1 1/2 Days
Enis Lobby - 1 Day
Little Garden - 1 Day
Drum Island - 1 1/2 days
Arabasta - 3 days + 1 week sleeping -

-
But you have to count the time inbetween when they are just sailing. I doubt they just go from destination to destination in like a few days.
I'm sure sometimes they even spend weeks out at sea.
-
Oh boy, this again. Fun fun.
-
Would it really make a difference if Oda wasted space in one of the data books to explain people how much time it took for the SH to sail through the first half of the Grand Line?
I bet many hope the 500th chapter has extra pages with a time line of sorts
-
Actually at a con not too long ago, a couple of people who were tied to One Piece said the journey has been around 6-7 months…
Though I dont believe anything until I hear it straight from Oda's mouth.
-

Well all that we know for certain is that Oda said Luffy's still 17. So it hasn't been more then a year yet.
-
Source or it didn't happen.
-
A short note-sorry for bringing this up,greg (but its your fault for not talking to me,when I adress you,so nyah),but,it doesnt seem like they managed to come to Nanohana,go to yuba,to rainbase and again to Nanohana in just three days, thats a litle too fast.
-
Source or it didn't happen.
In an SBS Oda said "Luffy is 17" and will always be 17.
But I don't feel like searching through the thousands of SBS's to prove it to you, so w/e
-
He never said will always be 17. You just made that up>.>
There are only around 50 SBS's and interestingly enough I found the SBS you were referring to.
http://arlongpark.net/Manga/SBS/4
And exact words were…
D: What are the ages of Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Shanks?
O: There were a lot of letters asking about ages. A whole lot. I think it might be the most of any particular question. Well, I'll answer it. At present, Luffy is 17, Zoro is 19, and Nami is 18. Because we don't know where Shanks is for the moment, I'll tell you his age from 10 years ago. He was 27 at the time he was stopped at Luffy's village. Coincidentally, Usopp is 17 along with Luffy.
There, now where does he say that he will always be 17? The most he said was AT PRESENT as in during the time he wrote that. You really need to get your facts straight>.>
-

The Toei reps said something along the lines of "according to Oda-sensei only about 6-8 months have past since Luffy set out from him home". Take it whatever way you want to.
I'd rather Oda-sensei just avoid the question and say it's ambiguous than have that small an amount of time pass. -
How is it not a real time skip? The story starts out when Luffy is 7 and then skips 10 freaking years ahead.
@ tonitonichopper
are you on nuts? i want to be in summer 2009, because i cannot wait
for movie 10 or the all over progress of the story … that is called dreamingwhat the hell - meh
im not talking about freaking timeskips in one piece, gosh darn -.-
ready properly and get some knowledge about terms like "real life" yeah?! <<no offense to you tho, but … :getlost:
-
Well, we have topics for this, but I do recall Oda saying that the crew will be the same age every year.
-
what the hell, Buuhan?
That makes no sense. Time will pass, but characters won't age at all?!
I think if Oda-sensei said that, it would've made such an impact most people would've remembered it. -
I already found the SBS where Oda-sensei mentioned the characters ages and he made no such allusions that they will never change.
-
He was probably saying they don't age or abide to the time outside of the comic.
-
People might've been referring to this:
@SBS 24 (http://arlongpark.net/Manga/SBS/24):
D: It takes while for time to pass in manga, doesn't it? Since it's a weekly thing. So, should we wait like 2 more years for Luffy's birthday?
O: No, no, no. He has a birthday every year, just like everyone else. It's just that, in Luffy's case, every year is his 17th birthday. Doesn't that make you jealous?
Still doesn't really clearly answer the question at hand though.
-

Yes!!
THAT'S what I was referring too xD
-
So! Movie 10! Yeah!
-
WOOOOOOO MOVIE 10 !!!!!!! YEAH !!!!!
*opens a can of beer *: any one alse?
-
I wonder if we can expect any action from whitebeard, shanks or even Garp in that movie?
-

Sounds to me like he was saying that in real life Luffy has a B-day every year and remains 17 because he's always 17 in the Manga.

I disagree. I think there's a perfectly good chance that Whitebeard will get a chance to see some action in Movie 10.

I never said anything about Whitebeard.
-
I never said anything about Whitebeard.
Well yeah, Movie 10 COULD suck but I think there's an excellent chance for there to be a great deal more 'classic' Oda comedy with him doing the writing. Sometimes Toei's 'tweaks' just feel wrong somehow.
-
I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about Greg. You've lost me.
-
He's trying to keep the topic…on topic.
-
I see. I thought he was messing with me. On-topic, when will we get some more info on the movie? We need more info now. Also I hope Dragon makes some kind of appearance.
-
More movie info will come towards the end of the year. Since all of the movies come in March.
-
I don't care at all about Whitebeard. If anything, I hope we get some Blackbeard/Moria/Kuma/Crocodile/Doflamingo scenes in this one.
-
This year is probably gonna seem the longest, cause unlike before, we actually GOT the movie ending teaser this time around. Add that Oda's writing it on and we got ourselves a regular ol' waitin' game.
-
greg-OR they sometimes have an interesting idea, tease us with it for several minutes and then never mention it again (viz. Brindo saying captured pirates smile while being given over to the Marines in Lovely Land-seriously,till this day I asume they had to cut it out cause of space/money)
-
Hah, I just thought of something. What if the only scenes Garp, Sengoku, Ace, and Whitebeard are in are just the scenes shown in the trailer.
It'd be Oda's version of TWSSP's "FOOLED YOU!"
-
that would equal to blatant f*cked up-ness.
-
What if the only scenes Garp, Sengoku, Ace, and Whitebeard are in are just the scenes shown in the trailer.
I do believe I've been saying that since the start. It would be unlikely that any of the scenes we saw in the teaser were actually in the movie.
-
as anything else but hype,I would say .
-
wo0o0w i cant wait to see it
OMG looks like Nami is playing an important role in it :wub:thanx for the info. -
On Wikipedia it was written that this movie is ectually canno! is that true!? Does this movie really is connected to the original plot?

It's not confirmed, it most likely will only be canon to the anime.

Your asking for wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much!

Even that is highly unlikely.

It was a rumor started by Greg during April Fools'. There is a chance it can be canon, but right now it's a "no".

If it's really cannon (to the manga!), so it might be the big surprise Oda planned. No?
-
uhm, what else then thje MANGA could it "be canon to"?The manga is the source,ergo…....
-
Any new news on the movie?
-
If there was you wouldn't be asking.
-
This movie doesn't release for a year. Chances are it'll be fall before we get any real info.
