Signed 8D I don't even live in the US but I do want it to air there. MORE PUBLICITY!
I signed it as well. I hope they like my input. :)
Make sure to also write letters too, they're much more effective.
SURE!Yes I will!
Well that's why we provided addresses for the different networks on the site. If you don't want to sign the petition you can write a letter as well, I know I will.
What picture is the banner using, I don't remember it.
I honestly think petitions and the like are useless at this point, since they never go anywhere, but I will contribute.

It's a pic drawn by Oda that's very hard to find. I think it was at a Jump! Festa. I have the picture but it's all twisted and stuff. In fact, I'm not sure if there even IS a scan of that pic available.
I was the 100th person to sign it! Yippeee!!!!
The Hub could be likely if they could somehow work out a merchandising deal, since they're owned by Hasbro.
Signed. I really wanna see how this turns out, though I'm not raising my expectations too much out of fear of being disappointed. I'll also be writing letters.
Bandai should get its own channel–-One Piece and Pretty Cure!
Only 133 signed….this is getting nowhere.
Lol. And that right there shows why One Piece isn't on TV anymore.
Only 133 people signed?
How many people are on this site? If they all signed, that would be like …. a thousand signatures right there.

it kind of makes me wonder though, the fanbase for anime is there, but why do you think so many channels opt out on it. is there simply not a market for it?
oh yeah and im about to sign up on there as well.
Is anyone really that surprised? Not every member of this forum cares about the United States' woes with the property, espicially those who this won't even effect. The website needs to be brought to a much wider audience. Partnership with ANN or any other outlet of those with even possible mild interest. Try setting up some sort of email chain to get the site out there via that avenue.
Hit up conventions, too. I the crew is hitting up Otakon this weekend so there's that advertising venue as well, but merely handing out a link isn't going to be enough. Grab more personal accounts, handwritten signings too.

not only that, but has there even been one documented attempt, on where this type of act actually work? i certainly cant think of any, but i certainly support the cause
We need a new save onepiece site!
Since we're talking about One Piece sites, does anyone know what happened to watchonepiecelegally.com?I tried going on there the other day for the first time in a long time, and it prompted me to sign in…but I don't have an account set up, nor is there a way to create one, nor continue without logging in.
Only 133 signed….this is getting nowhere.
Hey it just started. I don't expect that many signatures, but hey that's why I told people to write letters.
There's also people like me who don't sign cause they know online petitions are a waste of time.
Yeah! If we actually hope to succeed, we should write actual physical letters to the networks.

I signed anyway.
Yeah, I pretty much agree with YBM and while I don't think petitions are a waste of time, you've really got to do more than that. We decided to make the petition as something extra, but I'm worried that it might send the message that fans won't need to write letters and just say, "Hey I'll leave a signature and everything will be fine". So yes I'm wondering if anyone out there is reading this if they've actually written a letter or if they're planning to.

You're asking the wrong guy. I wouldn't know anything about that.
No one's picked up "One Piece" because they probably don't think it's worth their time. There's probably other shows competing for a time-slot and "One Piece" isn't strong enough to hold its own. Maybe Toei Animation isn't good at pitching it.

well we all know it has the potential, and to be quite honest you're right, it wasn't/ hasn't been pitched well. although i wonder if done correctly, if it would have made a difference
oh well no use in wondering, i just wish the funimation channel would be more accessible and have all the anime shows that they have licensed, i just feel they haven't pulled everything on the table yet, i am appreciative of the dvd's no doubt.

Understament of the fucking century.
Hey I don't know what goes on at Toei Animation. All I know is that after Cartoon Network cancelled it Toei Animation was still[ talking to them.
I know you dont,I didnt mean to offend you.
There's also people like me who don't sign cause they know online petitions are a waste of time.
Yeah, guys. A handwritten petition hardly works at all, and an online petition will work even less mainly because of things like this:
Signed 8D I don't even live in the US but I do want it to air there. MORE PUBLICITY!
Anyone can sign it. When you have an online petition, you can have people who don't even live in the US signing for One Piece to air in the US. In a way, that makes it dishonest. At least, from an organization's point of view.
Now, If you guys were to have a handwritten petition and bring it to whatever cons you attend, and have people there sign it, then that handwritten petition would have a higher chance of being considered than the online petition.

And….this. It seems the only station Toei will allow to air One Piece is
Live-actionCartoon Network, and CN doesn't want it. At all.
Yeah I doubt Toei Animation cares about Cartoon Network anymore if they're dealing with Nicktoons now, but honestly they were wasting time and it may have hurt them in the long run.

didn't they get a new boss or something? (cartoon network) you know the bonehead who makes all these idiotic decisions now, because i find it hard to believe the they have the same staff or whatever.
Did they get a new boss? A friend told me but I haven't seen an official source of info.
What happened to the Australian OP did it get the shaft because of its totally uncut dub?
Or is it the same as us it just got the boot, because.

They ran out of episodes to air.
On the topic of CN's boss, the guy who's currently in the position recieved it in 2007, after the Mooninite Scare. Stuart Snyder, that's the guy. Now, a few weeks ago a rumour started that the guy was fired, but there's no evidence of it being true and is most likely false. But if someone contacts CN then we could get a straight answer.
Also, Stuart Snyder's the guy who doesn't like Anime. Or Cartoons, apparently.

thats what ive heard, something that he didn't like anime, which is why he ordered the so called execution of "anime" and the blocks that hosted them like toonami.
funny though, the very channel that proclaimed itself "the home of cartoons" is now nothing but a hypocritical statement (with real live shows on it, not much but even one destroys it), man how the times have changed.

if we get someone to run cartoonnetwork that likes anime then the anime will return.
@Tamaki:

You act as if we have a say in who runs Cartoon Network.

actually we do. if we stop watching the channel besides adult swim of coarse they theyle have to switch out.

Yeah, millions of little kids are gonna stop watching Cartoon Network and start watching Adult Swim. Not likely.
I think, sooner or later, people in the US will have to accept that Anime is most likely gonna die here, maybe except Pokemon, Bakugay, and Yugioh. As popular as Naruto is, I don't know how long it'll last.
@Tamaki:

Oh God. I have to go through the explanation again. This has to be the biggest misconception ever. What would happen if we decided to stop watching CN? Absolutely NOTHING. People don't affect the ratings a show or station gets unless those people have a Nielsen Box. A Nielsen Box is what records ratings. If you don't have a Nielsen Box (which I doubt you do) then you won't affect the ratings a show or station gets.

thats already happening somewhat right now. lots of little kids watch adult swim and cartoonnetworks ratings are SO low right now its not even funny.

im a bit confused on the whole nielson thing. could you explain what it is and how it works how you get it?

Do you have a source for that?

Here's a pretty detailed explanation of Nielsen Ratings and how they work.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nielsen_ratings
You can't get a Nielsen Box. They contact you about it, not the other way around. It counts the show you're watching along with the channel is on to see how many people are watching a certain chow or a certain channel. That's where ratings come from. But only a select number of people have these Nielsen Boxes, so it's more like a ratio of people than all the people in the country.

than how can they say what everyone in the country likes if only like less than a 10th of it actually counts in the ratings? and how do you get them to ask you for a ratings box?
@Tamaki:
than how can they say what everyone in the country likes if only like less than a 10th of it actually counts in the ratings?
Because it's like a proportion.
2/10 = 20/100
It's just an estimation.
and how do you get them to ask you for a ratings box?
You DON'T.
They find YOU, somehow. Basically, at random.
@Badass:

You gotta love American TV and its flaws.
As for how Toei pitches their shows, I have a feeling they don't. Toei comes off to me as one of those smug companies who are all "You're asking why you'd want to air our shows? Please, you should be honored we're even considering LETTING you air them. We're Toei fucking Animation, bitch! We do Pokemon!"
