I think the rock hard evidence would be the foreshadowing. There was Luffy's drawing, and then his interaction with Luffy (a lot of people predicted during their fight that the interfering Galley-La would make them come together), then his flashback, the "Bord" battle, FFOP, and chapter 377's cover. Not enough to satisfy me, though. XD

Maybe because its an easter egg foreshadowing from Oda. That drawing and description was too crazy to actually think that it might hold any water but then again nobody would ever imagined that the Strawhats will encounter a cyborg with so many abilities.
For instance if Luffy would have said included the words "…and he has to blow fire and nails" in his description everyone of us would have laughed at Luffy´s naivity because we would have never imagined that such a guys actually would really appear but in the end he´s there.
True Luffy didn´t say these words but that ugly and crazy drawing actually fits Franky very well. The best evidence is actually that Sanji´s and Usopps reaction is basically exactly the same as the most unconstructive anti-Franky arguments here in this very thread.
Well, the points matched up. One could bring up the anime colors being more like clown colors and all that, but one could also bring up that the city of Water Seven is supposed to be a different color itself (look at the cover of vol. 37). I also put a tiny bit of weight in Sanji calling it and Franky "tako."

Well imagine if the anime would have used Franky´s colors. Then the drawing would surpass being just an easter egg and become a spoiler. Therefore the clown colors make sense.

Yeah, I understand that. Whether or not Oda made it out to foreshadow Franky, I think it was a smart move to make the colors funky. I was just saying that in case someone said something like "well, the colors are totally different."
"Tako" is octopus. He claimed the drawing was related to an octopus. I thought it'd be funny if he thought the same of Franky, and he confirmed my beliefs there in 365, when they first met.

What I'm hoping for is for at least both Franky and Paulie join.I remember someone saying before that Franky was also a musician… And as far as I know, Franky probably hasn't done his carpentry in years and he's been dismantleing things instead. I think this is just wishfull thinking on my part, but throughout the whole series, only one person has joined the crew for each place the strawhats visit... Maybe this time Oda's going to try something new and made two people join the crew at once. I mean, the Strawhats seem to have developed a bit of trust with Paulie too... Ok, I'm rambleing, and this is completely wishfull thinking ^_^.

However your above statement just gave me this interesting new idea Yoska on how Zanbai´s "confession" to be one of the Strawhats could be adapted into the further story. We all know that in the OP world many things works with rumors and naivity. For instance just hearing about the "fearsome" Strawhat Pirates with a total bounty of 239 million beri would make people raise the wildest assumptions about how many crewmates Luffy has. I´m sure only few would think that there´s total number of just seven members.
That said Zanbai´s confession would actually add more fake clue´s for the WG and the rest of the world that the Strawhats consist of a large crew. Rumors spread very fast and I can imagine situations where everybody talks about the wild Strawhat Pirates that is around 60 men strong and invaded Enies Lobby.
Another after effect would be that at first most of the WG officials would believe that the Strawhats out of a sudden become a large crew and with that nobody would expect actually that except for 8 guys the rest of the people who invaded Enies Lobby still resides at Water 7.
Just a possible situation that could happen as after effect of the events that took (and are about to take) place.
I'm pretty sure Oda will keep up the tradition, more than one would be too much and cause just incoherence (I just like the word

But my trust is in Oda, no doubt the man has some elegant and brilliant solution to all of this in store for us..

Like, Sodom and Gomorra is not something you can miss, Paulie said he had been to enies lobby for repairs in the past so they probably know him around there, CP9 even if they get defeated will still be alive and they know everything about galley-la and the FF etc..

True that this is an option but this is really over analyzing it and just looking for glitches. If we look that precisely at everything you can find flaws anywhere and I think this really isn´t that much of a biggie here.

Well yes I think that the intelligence of the marines is that bad, at least when it comes to catch the small fry. I mean after all, they just knew about Zoro and Luffy after Alabasta and not about all the other´s who defeated BW members too. I mean the morons actually saw all of the Strawhats at Arbana while they were asleep and Tashigi resisted to arrest them in chapter 212. And then in the next chapter the marines already didn´t recognize Sanji and Usopp while they were accusing Chaka for harboring pirates at the Royal Palace.

You didn´t get what I meant. These were animals. It´s not like they had moral reasons to fight along the FF. Maybe they had but try to convince a judge of that. I mean in movies like Bravehear there was also animals that helped on side to turn the tide. Does that now mean that the one side will track down all the horses of the other side and slaughter them because they helped in a battle against them? It´s just animals. Even if they remain at Water 7, nobody would really make them responsible for what they did. Just as you wouldn´t make hostages responsible for helping the bad guys just to stay alive.

I meant that what you said is a possibility but it is too much a "search for a weak link" character. If we really want to be like that we can find flaws each and everywhere and the fun of enjoying a story gets killed. I mean sometimes very very small glitches should be accepted. And making me believe that of 10.000 people none will ever visit W7 again is a "glitch" I could live with.

Not necessarily. It could also be interpreted as if S&G never belonged to the Strawhats (since the WG thinks that they all are SH now). They just needed two king bull and took those with them at Enies Lobby. Once they´ve surved their purpose they were free to go and returned to their home island.
If we really want to be like that we can find flaws each and everywhere and the fun of enjoying a story gets killed.
Finally! We shouldn't get too struck with stuff like this and Oda shouldn't either. The show stays together as long as it doesn't go into too much of details. Skipping the needless is always better than attempting to explain, and to fail on. Fortunatly, when it comes to these, Oda's a dodgy fellow.

Why should Usopp become captain? He challenged the captain and lost to him. Other then that what he told Nico Robin about having faith in Luffy clearly proves that he knows who the captain is.

Ok I don't want to disrespect your opinion Ivotas, so I'll explain what my reasoning is, and why I think it would be unlikely for the WG/marines to not find out.
When I thought about those 10,000 marines.. I kinda figured they had lives too, that they are stationed at Enies Lobby now, but many of them will also have homes somewhere else, a wife and kids, etc. So it isn't inconceivable that some of them live on Water 7. I mean, the Puffing Tom only passes by a few islands, right, so some of those marines might have gone to Water 7 on a leave, bought a house there, maybe met a woman and got married etc. And since Paulie, Galley-La, Franky and his family are pretty prominent figures (the Galley-La foremen are the heroes of W7 and everyone knows them, FF is notorious too) those people no doubt know them, and after the whole debacle on Enies Lobby is over, they might go back home or hell even visit a relative, go on vacation there (they have to get a vacation too sometimes).. and if they see the Galley-La boys are simply back home, it's over for them.
Another thing is the shipwright of W7 are famous, and the marines also do bussiness with them. (remember Paulie said he went to Enies Lobby on bussiness once) So if some marines go back there for more repairs or to buy a new ship or whatever and they see Paulie/Tileston/etc is back there.. it's over too.
The marine might also simply send someone to investigate at W7 for clues as to where the strawhats might have gone after they left Enies Lobby.. in which case they will again run into FF/Galley-La, since like I said they aren't living in the shadows or something, they are pretty prominent figures in their town.
Lastly, remember how the Gourousei always seem to have information about everything? Like the things that happened on Jaya, even though there were no visible marines present there. So they probably have spies in atleast every major town. No doubt they have one (or some) in W7 aswell, considering the whole deal with Iceburg. This spy is bound to notice if Galley-La and FF simply go back home.

I´m not saying that you´re statement is wrong but I just don´t see why the families (if they have any) from the marines and government officials should be located at Water 7. This is Enies Lobby, the front door of the WG so it could also be that they have soldiers from all over the world stationed there. I just don´t think that it is necessary that any of the 10.000 ever gets to Water 7. Just don´t see a need for it.
And just as I said in my previous comment Water 7 is a big city, it´s not like you find posters with the faces of Zanbai etc to tell every visitor that those guys are residents there. Even if they get there they might never run into anyone of the invaders. Besides the Sea Train doesn´t just get to Water 7 but to three different cities too. The chances that any of the WG or marine officials will accidentally run into one of the invaders are the same if you come to my city and run into me. 
About the recources of the WG, remember what I said about Alabasta. They saw all the Strawhats after the fight was over and yet the only known ones are Luffy, Zoro and Robin. Tashigi and her entire troop saw them, but CP9 didn´t recognize Sanji as one of the Strawhats. They guessed that he was one but they didn´t know it.
Besides as I said before Sanji and Usopp passed by marine officers at the Royal Palace of Arbana and nobody knew who they were in chapter 213. And one chapter before Tashigi´s entire troop actually saw all Strawhats sleeping in the streets. So much for the recourcefulness of the WG.

i think that the three foremen are pretty much screwed,
the FF are generaly easy to forget but Paulie and the boys are after Iceburg and argubly franky probably the most well known people in W7 basicly anybody who lives in or close to W7 know of Paulie tilestone and Lulu the star shipwrights of the biggest company in the whole area and Paulies even been at the lobby before so they know who he is so i dont see how the hell he could be able to hide in W7.
Just don´t see a need for it.
I'm just reasoning from statistical likelihood.. 10,000 people is a lot.. if not one of them would ever go to W7 again.. or if no-one would even bother to atleast go check back at W7 even if they know that the perpetrators came from W7.. then I'd be honestly disappointed with Oda..

Yep, they are especially screwed. But when I see how long it took the WG to find out that Cutty Flam was still alive and still living on Water 7 then I have faith in Oda that he can easily explain how Paulie will go under unnoticed. Who knows maybe instead of the FF joining Galley-La, Paulie, Lulu and Tileston join the FF making it the Paulie Family. If it took so long to track down Franky then it might take aswell as long to track all of the invaders down at Water 7.
It´s pretty easy to oversee it if, they base their opinions on the wrong clues. Franky wasn´t noticed because they thought he died 8 years ago. If everyone is made to believe that all of the Enies Lobby invaders are Strawhat pirates then there wouldn´t be any need to look for them at Water 7 but chasing for them on the seas.

Why? If they go back to check about it they would talk to the mayor in the first place and the mayor would cover them by denying to know anything. After all Iceburg remained at Water 7 so he can´t be framed for having helped them out. Plus he could officially frame the WG for trying to kill him. And I still think that Spandam will pull something that won´t please the Gorousei. So in the end it could all happen like this that the WG leaves Iceburg alone because they don´t want him to reveal something to the world that could give the WG the character to run a police state.

Even then you wouldn´t necessarily run into me. Our city as much as other cities have local sports heroes in soccer, basket ball and ice hockey. But if you don´t care for them then you won´t know who they are. You have to specifically read the sports articles of the regional newspapers to know that they are the local heroes. So that might go under aswell.
Same could be the case for W7. The shipwrights are admired by many people but impossibly by all of the citizens. Why should somebody run into them?

I gotta agree with wolfwood, I feel you're really underestimating the WG. If the WG is too stupid to notice that they all simply went home, just because Zambai said "we're straw-hats".. dunno, just think that kind of incompetence is unfathomable, especially since they are involved in probably the biggest attack on the marines ever.. You have to imagine the shame, rest assured they are gonna be turning around every stone and look in every crack to find anyone who has even remotely got anything to do with this..
Same could be the case for W7. The shipwrights are admired by many people but impossibly by all of the citizens. Why should somebody run into them?

and clothes and hair aside i dont see much of a resemblence between franky a fully grown robot man with massive arms and cutty flam a normal looking little kid i for one wouldnt be able to see that they were the same person.
and since he was thought to be dead i assume that they werent exactly pouring resources into finding a dead kid,
whilst they would put basicly all their forces on finding the people who attacked one on the pillars of justice.
and when the WG puts their mind to it i dont think that they could keep the Galley-la boys hidden for long atleast not in W7 the most obvious place to look for them.
@ Jack: You oversaw what I said about CP9 trying to kill Iceburg. With that he can really do some bad propaganda against the WG if they chose to piss him off. And if Spandam does something to piss the Gorousei off himself, then they have even more reasons not to bother Iceburg anymore.
It´s just with what Luffy did at Alabasta. They are grateful that Crocodile´s dangerous plans got stopped, but at the same time they can´t let Luffy run around wild anymore. But Cobra and his family isn´t harmed. They know that they´ve worked together with the Strawhats but they won´t punish them for that.
Ok in the Water 7 arc it is a little bit different because the Strawhats invaded a government unit. But it was the government that made the first move by invading a suvereign leader of an island. So it´s actually even and the WG will continue targetting just the Strawhats. Iceburg is in the better position here. He can as I just said make really bad propaganda if the WG threatens to turn around every stone in Water 7 to find if anyone of the "60 Strawhats" has been left there.
@ Wolfwood: If he is underworld boss then he is already a prominent face and raises attention. And sorry even though CP9 wasn´t at Water 7 to track down Franky they at least knew what he looked like and if they do a clean job then they should actually sent reports about what´s going on in the city to their director. In a mission that went on for 5 years actually such big variable´s as the cities underworld boss have to be mentioned at least once. Believing something else is more naive then when I say I see no reason that none of the 10.000 should ever come to Water 7.
If that is the case then it should actually have got the bells ringing for CP9´s director Spandam when he hears the terms speedo´s and hawaii shirts. Lucci and his party don´t need to know him. But Spandam will never forget that guy. There must have actually be a situation where he read a report about the cities underworld boss.
It would be just naive and biased to say it is impossible that of 10.000 guys none will ever get to Water 7, the WG´s recources aren´t that bad but in the same breath it´s said that it is very much possible that the WG´s recources oversee that Cutty Flam is alive.
The sole fact that the underworld boss of Water 7 is called Franky should actually get CP9´s directors bells ringing. True he refers to him as Cutty Flam but if he as CP5 boss doesn´t know that Tom, Iceburg and Cocoro refered to Cutty Flam as Franky then he didn´t deserve to be a secret agent after all.
I do think that Iceburg could hide the Shipwrights. The world government needs water 7 to create its fleet. The WG had to act with its secret branch in order to move against Iceburg. The WG is likely to leave the truth and the shipwrights alone, just like they left the truth back at Alabasta.

That´s what I´ve tried to said. After this arc Iceburg definitely has the better cards in his hands then the WG. The WG already send their top killer squad at him and couldn´t overcome him (thanks to the Strawhats but that´s not important). And CP9 will be defeated by the end of this arc so if the best guys couldn´t deal with Iceburg, who else should the WG send? It is just you said, it is in the interest of the Gorousei´s own sake´s to not piss Iceburg off any further or he´ll reveal the truth about their method´s of Justice. Once again it will be the Strawhats and the Strawhats alone that will get framed for everything.
