Most of the past several pages have been back and forth bitching about the "awkwardness" of some animations, overall speed being "too fast" him not having enough "momentum to go up a wall," picking apart the teeniest details in videos of a game none of us have played through. I don't have to go back even 2 pages to find someone saying something to the effect of "god if they were gonna make it THIS CLEARLY ATROCIOUS they should've sucked some Capcom cock and made it 16 bit!"

It's in the same strata as the sobbing over other retarded bullshit; and it is what fans are wont to do - like the people at SRK angsting over the location of characters on Super Street Fighter IV's select screen and menu layout. It is precisely why I posted that link to the imploding Sonic fanbase. Doesn't seem that different to me

That was some good platforming right there. The third had few new ideas, but it was huge and fun.

I'd love a new one, but I don't think Rare has the talent to make one anymore even if they wanted to and could.

The only one that really stood out from the Advance games was Advance 3 because you could pick your character (from 5 characters), and pick a sidekick (who will play like Tails, and it could be anyone).

I loved playing as Tails with Amy as a sidekick. I could fly and use a hammer at the same time. However, some team ups ruined the character you could play as.

And Cream just ruins everything by being so cheap.

That was a series for superb level design. And they'd always lay a path of bananas so you'd not have to make a leap of faith.

Yeah it's too bad that Nintendo just sort of abandoned Donkey Kong to Mario Kart and Mario party, atleast there's still Zelda, Mario, and Metroid. And yes the second DKC was the shit, but I've only got the third still on the virtual console.

Seems pretty simple to me: if SEGA makes crappy Sonic games, people should stop buying them. That all these people suffered Shadow, '06, Rush, Dark Knight is proof that they're tards that don't deserve good games.

They're every bit as culpable as Sonic for consistently taking their money to mean, "hey, we must not be doing THAT bad, let's add another animal friend, OD the camera on pep pills & mountain dew and add a single tired gameplay element that will completely ruin all the others." I can't take a preemptive dump on a game that attempts to be a good faith step in the right direction, though. Yet. At least not over the BLASPHEMOUS green color of a blue hedgehog's eyes. DIMPS did the daytime stage design for Sonic Unleashed and co-developed Street Fighter IV. I happened to like Sonic Advance, never touched Rush. I am pretty sure that if this was in Sonic Team's hands alone the game would be a total wash. I figure DIMPS can get the benefit of the doubt for one game.

Also, Donkey Kong isn't really sitting pretty outside of cameos right now, either. He definitely doesn't have the legacy of fail that Sonic does, but he isn't exactly pooping out a golden egg every year either.

Will agree with you on the music, though. OCRemix just released a remix album of DKC2 - it's pretty boss.

Children are the ones mostly responsible for something like Sonic Unleashed to become successful. The old fans that are left, especially the ones complaining on internet forums are a minor part of the customers.

15 years of pretty crap games should teach a consumer a lesson. This isn't just big bad SEGA's fault, it's a battered housewife fanbase content with the consistent dickslap of disappointment.

At the same time though, there's a point at which nitpicking gets to be ridiculous. Complain legitimately, plz, not over the trifles of a good faith effort.

A petition to buy Sonic 1 games in protest of a few second long video of in-development footage? Let's be real folks: you don't want a 16 bit Sonic game. There's no way you would be appeased - it would be "lackluster" "not enough innovation" "not as good as 3 & Knuckles" "I don't remember this being this GAY."
