Well, he was in a way. It was just hard to take him seriously with that voice.
I agree that he was determined, but come on, he was round as a ball, he attacked with balls, and he was just all around silly. At least Gedatsu had a more serious look.

Enies Lobby is extremely weak as an arc.
Where do you guys watch the Funi dub? Isnt it only up to episode 116 on the DVD's? Or are you guys in australia?
Funimation dubbed skypiea for tv a couple of years ago in the usa & australia.
Really? Is there any place I can find those episodes? and since they already dubbed the, I assume they stopped until the DVD catches up with them?
Torrent sites would be your best bet I guess.
It didn't stop because of the dvd's, Cartoon Network USA dropped OP midway through Skypeia - apparently it wasn't getting the ratings they expected(or so they say), and it won't be coming back. Supposedly Toei are still looking for a US tv deal.
By cartoon network you mean the 4kids dubs or the funi dubs?
Funi dubs. When funi picked up the license, they continued where 4kids left off. Then, as I understand it, CN started to get rid of a load of shows, including One Piece.

Just one thing, though, as I assume you don't know this yet;
the majority of the Skypiea-dub we've seen was the censored version. So no "God Eneru", and several 4Kids-names were kept to maintain consistency. However, the last 10 episodes or so aired uncut (or at least close to it) in Australia. Apparently FUNi never got around to making edited versions of those, so CN Australia just decided "What the heck, let's just air the uncensored version".

Yeah, I was thinking it was like the DVD's so I was planning to maybe see it, but now not so much. And by no god eneru, so…who did they use instead anyway? Its not the same if theres no god in godland.

He's just a "King" in the edited version. That is, until the "Chopper VS Ohm"-episode, where they switched to the more-or-less unedited version, at which point they went back to calling him a God. For the record, his priests were referred to as "Knights" in the edited version.

That is….extremely corny....
Yeah it seems almost worthless to record two different sets of dialogue.
It must be extremely bizarre for the voice actors as well.
They probably didn't care, since they could've been paid twice for it.
The onepiece podcast did an interview with the Funimation voice actor of Enel and they talk about that specific topic. It sounded like he wasn't quite allowed to say it but had been a pain in the ass. ^^

Well at least they don't have to do that bullshit anymore.
FUNi have the Skypiea episodes?! I thought they were still at Alabasta with the DVD sets!?
I think they aired Skypiea on TV. DVDs are not up there indeed.
I don't get any of this sadly.
I didn't dislike Skypiea, and this is something I had been thinking about it for awhile, but I think that a big reason why I felt a major disconnect with Skypiea is because it was the first time in a major arc when I felt that Luffy didn't really further development any friendships with his crewmates. The East Blue Saga introduced four crewmates, and the Alabasta Saga introduced two, along with Vivi, who left, but the impact of Luffy's developed friendship with her was felt nonetheless. This is further contrasted with the Water 7 Saga, which I think can be basically described as a saga in which Luffy reconnects with two crewmates while a new one joins.
