@Narutossss:
I have yet to see any unique toning tech's oda used that I haven't see before. Cross hatching, kubo easily dominates oda and for perspective I'll seen much better in naruto nuff said.
You don't get it, it's not just using one particular artistic technique but using a bunch and collecting them together. With that said, these days all Kubo and Kishimoto do is spam the ink tones and for a time Kishimoto didn't properly shade his characters. And Kubo never even bothers with backgrounds so there's much less work right there.
@Narutossss:
looked at this manga for sec didn't look all that great to me.
Because you can judge everything about the art quality of a series by one
glimpse. By that logic that one good page of the First Hokage vs Madara is representative of the total art quality of Shippuden.
…
No seriously, it's really fucking stupid to claim that Negima has mediocre art. What page did you even look at?
@Narutossss:
proves how bias your opinion really is.
… Are you kidding me? Art style IS subjective. Art itself and the techniques used and the overall effort is NOT. There's no fucking thing as bias. If some Narutard goes and says this is an artistic masterpiece
!
that's not being biased, that's being fucking stupid. But you want me to list less favorites or series I hate with good art? Fine, don't know what that will achieve unless you're stupidly suggesting I only think series I like have good art. Veritas, Flame of Recca, Eyeshield, for series I 'm not really into there's Fairy Tail, Reborn, there's To Love Ru which I absolutely despise. I could really go on all day with the tons of volumes of manga I've read.
@Narutossss:
do you really need to follow a manga to tell if the art is good or not.
Actually you do if you want to be able to formulate a proper opinion on it. It's easy to find a really good page of a series and prop it up to be the norm of the series. But to really get a good idea of the quality of the art, you need to follow it as you get used to the author's style and the subtle nuances of his artistic details. Not to mention how an artist's style constantly evolves as a series progresses. An example would be Angel Densetsu.The beginning had pretty mediocre art and this was a monthly series. However as time passed, the art became fantastic and what's really great is that you saw for yourself how the art and art style evolved to what it became giving you an even greater appreciation and insight to the quality of the art. This actually applies to most series including One Piece. Oda's initial backgrounds were rigid and formulaic, now they're rich, vibrant and have many unique artistic details. The fact that you think Negima has mediocre art from one glimpse shows how important it is to follow a series>.>
@Narutossss:
beelzebub???? really? and khr is more shojo than shounen and every male character kinda looks female.
At this point, you've pretty much shown you no shit about art and you're just arguing for the sake of it. Is this really the best response you could come up with?
@Narutossss:
btw lets not forget this from wintergt's brillant review.

You're comparing one slight goof in perspective in one panel for the volumes of work done by Oda? Ignoring the amount of artistic quality that panel provided over one slight error? That particular panel looks fine at first sight anyway unless you stare long enough and then your perverted brain makes that particular way of looking at that image pop out. Jesus, you're really picking at threads here.
@Narutossss:
All in all I think all mangaka have their own unique way of drawing so it's difficult to judge and mostly depends on what you like be it detailed or simple.
AH. Now we get to the root of the matter. You're just trying to defend Kishimoto's shitty art as a case of a different, simple style. Why am I not surprised?
OK my response.
!
"But you're just reusing the same page which isn't representative of the entire shippuden part!!!"
Bitch don't get me started on bad Naruto drawings, the entire cave scene with Madara and Sasuke alone was a volume of vomit on a stick. There is such a thing as art style but trying to use it as an excuse for blatantly bad art is stupid.
