feigns surprise
Worthless company.
While Dragon Quest won't change, ever.
Anyways, here are what my end game stats looked like (spoiler tags to not take up so much page space):
! Fang:
HP - 6885
At. - 1772
Mg. - 1026
! Lightning:
HP - 7295
At. - 1256
Mg. - 1034
! Hope:
HP - 5645
At. - 788
Mg. - 1499
! Snow:
HP - 8910
At. - 1160
Mg. - 825
! Vanille:
HP - 6265
At. - 857
Mg. - 1021
! Sazh:
HP - 7880
At. - 726
Mg. - 729
! Now, while I did have items equipped and some weapon upgrades, these stats are pretty indicative of what characters are like and who you will be using.
! Basic rundown:
! Lightning is the most balanced of all the characters she generally has high Attack and Magic stats but isn't the best at anything.
! Snow has the highest HP of all characters, but other than that you probably won't use him post-game.
! Sazh is the worst character stat-wise. He seems to go through the Crystatium faster than everyone else but never gets good stats at all. He only has one unique move (his version of a limit break so nothing that great) so you'll probably never use him once Hope learns Haste (since Sazh learns Haste somewhat early you'll use him a good amount regardless). He has the second best HP stats, tough.
! Hope has the best base magic stats of all the characters but has the worst hp of them all. He learns most of the enhancement spells so once he learns hast he'll most likely be a mainstay on your team.
! Vanille has the second best base magic stats of all the characters and pretty much is very similar to Hope (except a Jammer instead of an Enhancer). She is the only character to learn death, though, so you'll probably keep her around post-game.
! Fang is probably the best character in the game, though. She has the highest attack (by a lot), learns high-level jams (slowga, painga, cursega, etc.), has the "best" limit break move (Highwind) and can learn high-level enhancements that the normal enhancers can't even learn. I can guarentee everyone will use her on their main party.
! There is no point going indepth on character summons other than they reflect the stats of the character using them (so Sazh's Brunhilde is the worst and Fang's Bahamut is the best). They heal your character, revive all dead characters upon leaving, and can possibly do lots of damage.
! My end-game characters were Fang, Hope, Lightning but now my current characters are Fang, Hope, Vanille.
! My currrent character stats are:
! Fang:
Hp. - 17480
At. - 2358
Mg. - 1261
! Vanille:
HP - 14980
At. - 1374
Mg. - 2422
! Hope:
HP - 14210
At. - 1079
Mg. - 2173
! Sazh:
HP - 21175
At. - 1241
Mg. - 1448
! Snow:
HP - 23810
At. - 1631
Mg. - 1031
! Lightning:
HP - 13530
At. - 2029
Mg. - 1612
! Now, of course, I do have items equpped like Vanille having her magic increased by 600-700 points and Hope having his HP increased by 720 HP. Ignoring those, though, these should be pretty indicative too as to what the general increase in characters stats are. All of their weapons are second form maxed because I can not get the Trapehezodron (sp?) to make their final weapons.
! To show where their crystarium is generally at, here is a mini-note.
! Fang:
Level 5 on Jammer (Maxed)
Level 4 on Attacker (close to 5)
Level 4 on Defeneder (close to 5)
all rest 1
! Vanille:
Level 5 on Healer (maxed; mostly did for HP increase stats)
Level 4 on Blaster (close to 5)
Level 4 on Jammer (close to 5)
Level 1 on rest
! Hope:
Level 5 on Healer (maxed; mostly did for HP increase stats)
Level 5 on Enhancer (maxed)
Level 4 on Blaster (close to 5)
Level 1 on rest
! Sazh:
Level 5 on Enhancer (maxed)
Level 5 on Blaster (maxed)
Level 4 on Attacker (close to 5)
Level 1 on rest
! Snow:
Level 5 on Defender (maxed)
Level 5 on Blaster (maxed)
Level 4 on Attacker (close to 5)
Level 1 on rest
! Lightning:
Level 5 on Attacker (maxed)
Level 4 on Blaster (close to 5)
Level 4 on Healer
Level 1 on rest
Favorite character in story is Sazh, he is the most realistic of all of the characters. Favorite character in Battle is Fang.
Least favorite on both is Snow. He pretty much sucks.
I have 23 trophies right now. Something interesting was done with trophies in this game in that certain trophies unlock themes for your PS3. 3 are easy, 3 are hard, 1 is the platnium so…
Anyways, for linearity, every chapter but 11 is linear. Post-game you can only return to places from chapter 11-13 but 12 and 13 have limited locations.
Here is a breakdown of the unique moves your character can do that are similar to limitbreaks from previous games:
! Lightning: Scene Drive - looks like what Lightning does with the timestop ability in that one E3 trailer where she does all of those fancy moves
! Snow: Ruler Fist - Jumps in the air and essentially does a "Power Geiser" to the enemies
! Sazh: Desperade - Does many different gun poses with shooting the enemies
! Hope: Last Resort - Shoots a bunch of energy orbs out attacking the enemies. It's lame.
! Vanille: Death - Worse than the other Final Fantasys because this one relies on Magic Stat, Weapon, and HEAVILY on luck. Pretty much never works. I only got it to work once and it was amazing, though. One hit kill to the enemy no matter how much Hp it has. Seeing as how it never works though…
! Fang: Highwind - Very similar to ruler fist except she jumps in the air and uses her staff on the ground. If the enemy is on "Break", though, and you do this move it will do 99999 damage multiple times.
! There are two downfalls to these moves:
1: They reset the break meter. Therefore they aren't very good to use unless the enemy is already broken and they are about to run out of break meter (and they cost 5 ATB bars so....)
2: Computer AI will never use them
Anyways, last thing I can think of is the ending song (not spoiling the ending….unless people want me to...).
When I first heard kimi ga iru kara I honestly thought it was too generic and boring. When I watched the ending cutscenes and the song came on I instantly could feel that it fit the game just right. My brother watched the cutscene with me and he agrees. Here's the thing: My brother REALLY likes the song "My Hands" by Leona Lewis. He agrees with me, however, that the song does not fit with the context of the game's ending and would not be a good choice to put there. Read the lyrics to both songs and you may see where I am going with this.
Alright...so, any questions?
