Be sure to have correct form. check YouTube for any number of tutorials. Correct form is ESSENTIAL to effective push-ups. If you do not have correct form you are COMPLETELY wasting your time and possibly injuring yourself.
Since the workout has worked so well for you:
What do you consider the correct form? Obviously back straight, etc. But how do you position the hands? Triangle shaped, shoulder length apart, or even wider?

Exercising is so overrated. Plus, I'm a smoker, so I couldn't go for an effective jog if I wanted to. I haven't exercised a day in my life and I'm a stick. I just am mindful of what I eat. I rarely eat fast food (if you're trying to lose weight, do not eat any.) I don't eat sweets, but that's because I don't like them.
Common sense goes a long way. I'm not saying that if you're overweight you have no common sense, but just think about other options before you grab for that TV dinner with the chocolate brownie inside.

you must have a high metabolism. some people arn't blessed (or cursed) with that. wait 10 or 15 years. it will slow down. I'm getting close to 30 and I already don't feel like my young self physically. which is why i wanna start excersizing, so 30 more years down the road, my body doesn't wanna fall apart.

Even though I'm 6'2", 19 years old, and male, if I don't exercise, even if I'm eating only 1,500 calories today, I'll still manage to gain weight. Some people just have it lucky. I am not one of those fellows. I exercise for 2 hours, five times a week, or at least, I did until about a week and a half ago. I don't even know what happened. Better get back to that.

It might just be that your body needs to gain the weight.
Height really can make a difference, and can change what's healthy weight for your age as well. While I'm over what I should be, I am also a 5'11" 22-year old woman, and I do not look my weight.

Yeah a lot of people tell me I don't look very overweight but I could stand to lose 20 pounds at the least. I'm 5'10" (female) and 191 right now. I want to get down to 150ish again but, right now I will be happy to get to the point where my thighs aren't rubbing against each other again…. Dammit that's such a huge peeve DX

Didn't you say you weighed like 145? That would be super skinny on me, with my structure I don't think I need to drop below 150. I got to 157 before, and it probably didn't need to go much lower, though I can maybe manage it. However dropping that low was extremely hard to maintain.
My aunt is the same height and weighs 140 or so, but she's got a small frame… while I don't XD

Mine are starting to tone, I can tell, but they need to lose some fat too XP I'm noticing right now it's my waist getting smaller rather then the legs and I work my thighs out like crazy.

other than exercise… i do NOT know what to do to tone my thighs and get rid of that DISGUSTING amount of fat in between my legs. I know walking will help, obviously jogging which I can't really do thanks to asthma GOD I wish I could though Dx Hitting the gym which I can't do thanks to no membership and a shitty job where I can't even get a membership because I can't pay for it =_=; My sis and I just have to work harder at it I suppose and by it I mean eating better and more exercising of some kind
and I weigh more like 150 -__- for someone 5 ft tall that's not good at all. My sis and I are wanting to get down to 130 to start with.. that would be an amazing goal though I doubt we'll be skinny by any means even at that weight x__x;

It is probably easier to aim for a weight that is healthy first and maintaining that rather then trying to shoot for super skinny. I'm trying to get into the 170s, that way I'll be in the normal weight zone rather then overweight. I know I can maintain that if I keep working at it. I'll work hard to get lower but, when you get into skinny skinny you have to work even harder to maintain it then just a normal healthy weight. I couldn't stay that skinny for very long, the weight went back up the the 170s until I let myself go, so I think in the long run it will just be easier for me to get to that point where the thighs aren't touching and be happy XD
Like I said before, the pilates are really good for those sort of things, they are great for toning the abs and the legs. Worked for me before, though i keep forgetting to do it regularly now, now I mostly work my lower body with weights but it's not as effective in losing weight, but they're toning. I REALLY need to get on the stick with pilates/DDR again…

I don't even know how much weight I'd have to lose for my legs to stop rubbing together =_=; even at 130… my sisters legs were MUCH thinner but they still rubbed together I'm sure... x___x; sounds like you're lucky that you can be at a healthy weight and still be thin legged..... GOD I hate chunky short legs xD
I still don't have any pilates stuff D: I guess I need to check Wal-mart or ebay or something xD

The pilates. And crunches with a ball. It works good with a ball, we had an ab lounge but that just made me tired.
Only do as much as your body will take and work your way up. I just did more then my body really wanted to do crunches wise and I am in some massive pain right now >_< Way worse then just the usual soreness.

It did me a great deal of good when I used it regularly the first time, though now I'm not doing it as much as I should >_< If you do it right and eat well when you start, you should lose a dress size in about 10 days. But at the beginning you will REALLY feel it the next day…
I think I probably have to get into the 160s before my legs stop rubbing together, though I don't really remember them bothering me bad at 170 though..

Best way to deal with them is to buy them fast food because "you were thinking of them" or something. But don't get any for yourself.

She never eats healthy/normal food. All she eats is sugar, sugar, mountain dew, sugar, and pizza. And is that skinny. IDK if its the DDR hours a day or what but… damn.

I'm not too worried about Thanksgiving, I'll enjoy the day and eat my pie <3 Mmmm pie <3 There's plenty of time between Thursday and Christmas eve to keep working out.
And just because you can do 100 crunches on the ab machine doesn't mean you should, I'm just now starting to get free of pain from that…. Ugggghh it made me sick to hurt that bad...

Everytime I get a job I get fatter. At the waterpark it was because there was delicious pizza, cookies and my biggest vice: dippin dots. At Joanns I usually worked in the evening at the time I would get a sweet tooth and Wendy's was right there…
I am so unmotivated right now it's sad. I've been cooking really healthy and that's made a difference, but I'm getting so many hitches in that plan because I cannot get all the ingredients I need.
Seriously, neither Walmart or Brookshires has CHICKEN BREASTS.

And I am so unmotivated to go to the gym, I need a gym buddy it is SO BORING DX Hopefully I'll find one at school, I'll have to work even harder because sometimes I'll be stuck eating that starchy food.

I don't go to the gym, one, because of costs, and 2 because I don't have a car. Why not just bring an mp3 player and run on the treadmill? or bring a friend. I went to the gym with my friend a few times and had a blast.
and when I read dippin dots, I read it as dolphin dots, and was gonna ask what those are. lol ( i know what dippin dots are)

I would much prefer to stay home and just play DDR for a few hours, though I don't have a good foam mat anymore and the flimsy mat is impossible to use on the carpet. I went and spent $50 (though they refunded it) on a new foam mat that when I got it didn't work right either, I'm afraid to try to find another one because I'm sure they are all used and worn out >_< I've got a gym membership for a year though.
I don't have any friends around here ;; I'm not living at home right now… If I was at home atleast I'd probably get my mom to go work out >< But I've got just a little over a month till school.

THis method is working great for me. Im doing those 9 exercises 9 times in a row wait 3 mins then how ever many i can do then 3 mins more and the same
when i cant do any more i lift my legs up from the ground and do american psycho crunches untill im dead
1 second after im finished im goobling down chicken and vegetables my plate is usually
40% chicken 40% vegetables and 20% carbs I drink water or water with c vitamin in it
This exercise always gives me muscle ache in the whole area and thats why I like it

I saw a pic of my self at last years con and OMG I looked bloated/tired looking, this was right before I started working at subway. Ive been there 8 Months, lost 35lbs eating crap from there, im down to 240-242 now, most of it is Stomach fat, what would be the best thing to do to help lose most of it, my exorcising is mostly walking places, and a diet of mostly subway, water/teas and the ocasional hot pocket/ mac & cheese.

The upcoming semester scares me. I really can't gain weight I need to go down.
I probably need more training to work my muscles harder. Weights and cardio are doing nothing, I need some toning action going on… I just wish I had some motivation >_<

To be perfectly honest, I'm not really on any diet, my eating habits are pretty poor. However, as long as you stay active and eat things in moderation, you will start to see a change. Diets are kind of overrated, IMO.
Besides, it takes a really long time to lose weight naturally, I've felt discouraged for the longest time, but I've gained confidence since I realized that I have in fact gone down a pants size. My legs are not much different, maybe a bit less fat like around the lower part of my thighs, and my arms are a bit more toned (thank you retail lol), but the main thing I have noticed is my waist line which is what I am really trying to get rid of!
So with that being said, my goal is to get my ass back to the gym and get toned up so I can cosplay sexy anime chicks! XD (I'm going to need to go to the gym, this next job I'm getting doesn't require a lot of moving around… hehe)

hi guys, i would like to offer some help in this whole "losing weight " business, i have written a little article about it awhile ago for some of my clients aiding them with their exercise programs and eating plans. I'll just copy and paste it here, if you have any questions, i'll gladly answer as soon as possible. here is the article:
Speeding Up Your Metabolism
1. Breakfast and more meals per day.
when you sleep, you are going 8 hours without food, which slowed down your metabolism therefore the body will go into survival mode and store fat to used throughout the day. When you wake up it is best to eat a healthy breakfast such as Oatmeal, egg white omelette or wheatbix accompanied with some fruit are some good breakfast choice.
Eating small meals throughout the day keep your metabolism going in consistence, eat small meals or even healthy snacks every 2 - 3 hrs, it has to include protein. 6 small meals a day is an ideal eating plan for fat lost.2. 8 glass of water, caffeine and alcohol.
drinking 8 glasses of water a day helps with metabolizing stored fat and help the kidney to function properly. Without enough water a day, the kidney won't work at its full capacity so it will put the load onto the liver, one of the liver primary's functions is to metabolize stored fat to used as energy, the liver cannot work at full throttle if it has to work extra hard to help out the kidney, so drink plenty of water.Caffeine helps speed up the metabolism by raising your hearts beat, therefore pumping more blood and throughout the body, however do not exceed 300 mg (usually in 3 cups of coffee) of caffeine a day, study have found that 300 mg a day is a safe estimate of caffeine needed. Exceeding that amount can make you irritable, sleeplessness, could cause anxiety and diarrhea.
Alcohol slows down the metabolic rate, it is empty carbs with no nutritional value. alcohol has 7 calories per gram, which is as high as fat in caloric content. In addition to alcohol, fatty food is also consume while drinking, for a healthy eating plan, stick to no alcohol at all.
3. diary, fish oils and high fibre carbs food
It is essential to eat at least 3 daily meals consist of low fat dairy product and 1200mg of calcium daily. calcium help with burning extra fat quicker.
Take 6 grams of fish oil daily to help lower cholesterol, 6 grams of fish oil is found in Omega 3 fish oils pills, found in your local chemist, each tablet contains 1000mg (1 grams) of fish oil. take 6 daily for other benefits such as heart, brain and joints health.
Eating high fibre carbs food such as vegies, fruits and wholegrain instead of refined carbs such as potatoes white bread etc. which will slow down your metabolic rate. Cayenne chilli and jalapeño helps increase metabolic rate and may decrease hunger as well.4. Aerobics exercise and Weights
Aerobics exercise such as walking, cycling and swimming speed up the metabolic rate up to 8 hours after stopping. Lifting weights at least 15 minutes three times a week will triple the metabolic rate.5. Calories, protein and sleep
To calculate how much calories you need in your daily intake is usually 11 times your weights in pounds, for example : 71 kg = 157 pounds, so 157 x 11 = 1727 calories daily for a losing fat eating plan.
Protein is important for muscle repair and helping maintain muscle mass, to calculate the daily protein intake (exercising heavily) 1.2 - 1.8 g/kg. Example : 1.8 x 71 kg = 127 grams of protein needed daily.
Last but not least, get a good night's sleep, metabolic rates slow down when you are exhausted.Hope this helps,
