@xLionheartx:
Sorry fredom but I have to ask, what makes you say they arnt worth anything?
Is it comparison to all these top tier characters we've been seeing facing off? You have also to take into accout potential!
All the guys were seeing in the current arc were at the supernovas level at one point "making a name for themselves" and IMO guys like kidd and drake along with luffy have a potential wb-roger rivalry in the making
That's why I stand firm in my belief that the majority of the rookies got off of shabondy and are going to come in use in the later arcs after the conclusion of this war.
It's not that I don't think the rookies have potential. I think they all have potential, some more than others. I also expect many of them to show up again in the storyline, most probably in the New World.
My point was that Blackbeard has a plan of action specifically targeted for taking down Whitebeard, and he's gone to Impel Down as part of this plan. He's obviously looking for something. To assume he's looking for a rookie is quite preposterous IMO. So it has to be someone(s) who are capable of helping out in taking down someone of Whitebeard's caliber. So yes, the rookies all have potential, but there's not in the league of battling WB.
Btw white beard is gonna die! It's the best thing for the plot unless the wg's secrets are revealed during this battle
I don't disagree with this, I've even mentioned this thought of my own in this very thread.
@Urouge:
Hmmm, I never said that they had to join BB's crew, just that they could be a part of his story. I'd consider it in the same way that they could be a part of Luffy's story. It doesn't necessarily have to be as enemies or as crewmates. It can be as temporary allies (like Galley-La was for Luffy for example), or as people who just happen to be in the same place at the same time. There are countless ways that they could wind up being involved without having to resort to joining or fighting Blackbeard.
I see your point, but BB just strikes me as a take no prisoners type of guy. He's one of the few characters that actually has the type of personality you'd expect from a pirate. Take what you want and worry about the consequences later.
BB also seems rather adept at recognizing strength and potential, and I could bet you that this is the only reason he didn't take on Shiryuu. Was there an exchange, or did BB just talk him into the deal? Who knows! It's probably the later considering Shiryuu was looking for a way out of Impel Down anyways. Back to my point, while I think for story purposes, it could go any which way (joining, fighting, ally-ing, simple cameo). I just find certain situations work better with certain characters, and for BB, I think it's either he doesn't think they're worth it (ala Hannyabal) or he recognizes that you have some potential (ala Luffy and Shiryuu).
Eck! I hope I don't sound too serious about this. Just trying to give my point of view. Since this is all hypothetical and all
