I'm sure the site staff at aware of that.
You're free to help sort it out if you want.
If they're aware of it, how come no one is doing anything? Not that I'm judging anyone.
Most likely because it isn't the only thing regarding the site that needs attention. The staff who maintain it also do it in their own time for free so it isn't always their top priority in life.
Understood. Though I wonder… why are they maintaining a wiki? The One Piece Wikia has pretty much everything you need to know about the manga/anime.
Seems to me that nothing but the front page has been updated in years… since at least 2006 (considering the last update on the first post here)…
Nice job AP.
Well, it's no secret the site is a shambles and desperately needs a top to bottom overhaul and to move far away from the quasi-wiki format as possible.
Soooo yeah, having some cover arc stuff missing is the LEAST of its many problems at the present.
Arlongpark.net is a shithole. Everyone knows that.
Try www.onepiece.wikia.com where we update faster then Arlongpark.net(I'm not saying this to pull people from AP.net, just giving out a site that would update faster)
Wikia has no quality control, which make it only a step above Wikipedia in terms of reliability and factual accuracy. AP.net still boasts the best researchers and editors available, it's just we're very busy people. The amount of effort spent on a single article page is equivalent to 1,000 posts on apforums, easy.
I've always felt one of the biggest barriers to getting the forums in shape is the coding and structure. One needs a Rosetta Stone to learn how to wire the main site, which not only takes a lot of time in itself but also demands time to piece everything together. I think the structure has been the biggest motivation-killer for all of our former editors, but Cinder has worked her hardest to make the best of it and we value her hard work and dedication.
@Battle:
Well, it's no secret the site is a shambles and desperately needs a top to bottom overhaul and to move far away from the quasi-wiki format as possible.
Our primary focus has been merely getting the content on the pages, with the look to come later by someone with a cosmetic touch and a knowledge of code under his/her belt to fashion the raw clay into a fine ceramic statue.
Unfortunately, there's a lot of hurdles to simply get content up there. One of them is interest in OP…many of the editors I feel don't have the same undying love they once had of the series. Taken personally, OP hasn't really entertained me much since Thriller Bark, and before that not since Skypiea.
While there is no shortage of people on the forum with "the fire", most of them lack the ability to put a meaningful sentence together and also lack the dedication to string those sentences into passages and entries.
They'd much rather do something like...bash 4Kids for the millionth time rather than get an intangible satisfaction from writing a summary passage on a manga chapter.
IMV though, we already have enough capable writers. What we need for positions are:
1. A RAW provider / scanner / cleaner.
2. A colourer.
3. Someone who is Japanese-fluent.
I think these positions will help fill the gaps in our ranks, and maybe we'll be able to set up some steel beams on the mainsite. :ninja:

Very true. Very true.
We need AP to have a decent site because right now all we have is the One Piece Wikia, and the people who run it aren't above making things up.
they call Sanji's "Fighting style" "Red Leg" even though NOWHERE in ANY Manga chapter or Databook does it fefer to it as such, nor does anywhere say that Zeff actually taught him some kind of Formal Style, even though the wikia presents it as such.
Yellow refers to his attacks as "Black Leg's attacks" (Black Leg not referring to a style, just calling Sanji by his Wanted Poster name)
But do the One Piece wikia people care? I bet not, they only care about making up their own Fanon research.
It ALSO says "The Clima-Tact is named after "Tempus" which means "Weather" and "Kenpo" which is a Fighting Style"
WRONG. Tempus means "Time", not "Weather", and ODA'S ALREADY TOLD US it means "Weather" in Italian.
Way to go making Stuff up One Piece Wikia, way to go.
@Malintex: I have scans of the entire series Raw, I can color well, and I know Japanese.
I sortof own my own Scanlation/Fansub group…
If you guys need help, I'd gladly give it
If there's anything I could do, I'd be glad to help out.
Yeah, I'll toss my hat into the ring as well. All I require is someone to go over my stuff to avoid any sort of bias/false information. Demon Rin has a pretty good point concerning the wikia, but then again we all know one of the main editors there. ^o^
I would welcome any assistance. Please PM Cinder a writing sample and we'll run any applicant through the approval process.
Since you're a former editor SK I don't think another application will be necessary. Just send a message to Cinder that you want back in. I think at least we can do something about your lack of a coloured name.
I suppose that if someone discovers something that is wrong on the site he can also send a pm to cinder? Or can he posts the suggestion here?
I see no problem with posting it here. If it is something that only Cinder can take care off the rest of us can let her know.
i would be more than glad to offer my help in the concerning matters.

Why don't you go and fix it? It's an free site for everyone to edit.
But why are those "mistakes" there in the first place?
@Solar:

Good question, because there is no one here who are willing to go and correct it. I don't know why people see mistakes and complian instend of fixing it. I guess people are lazy.

There happy now? I just checked the Clima-Tact page and I did not see anything you just wrote so next time if you see any errors on the Wikia, GO CORRECT IT

That's right. i find it odd for someone to complian about some errors and don't fix it. That's ticks me off. I had to go fix it.

Actually I meant that it is what makes that page so unattractive for contributing to it. If literally everybody can edit it then your input can be easily deleted or changed by dumbsmurfs.
I don't contribute because the editors there obviously don't like me or something.
Every time I make an addition or give some input there, it's heavily criticised and in some instances removed for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Example: I added Luffys Gigant Gatling to his Devil Fruits page (a LONG time ago I'll admit, but I did)
Recently, It got removed with no mention on the discussion page.
I put it back and asked in the discussion thread what happened, I was just told it was "Normal Editors" doing stuff, They removed it again, and that was that.
APPARENTLY, this one attack of Luffy's doesn't belong on this page, wheras other attacks like the Gomu Gomu no Kamehame BazooHA do?
If they have a problem with me adding ONE ATTACK to Luffy's page, which DOES BELONG THERE, what the HELL do you think they would have said when I sugested moving Sanji's Page to "Black Leg's Attacks" or "Sanji's Attacks"?!?!?!
I wish I have Captain Carter's E-mail because he's over in On Piece Wikia causing harvoc because of this. What an idiot. And I will see what I can do. And Captain Carter, if your reading this, go fuck yourself

Its best you keep these problems on our site if you have a complaint rather then including other sites and making the sitaution worst. After the recent outbursts, I'm asking everyone to just keep their communities to themselves and not include everyone else in everyone elses' business. This isn't JUST the wikia, this is common decently across the bord. This sort of thing only creates arguments and hatred between communities. :wassat:
Anyway, I'll say this much about the games… How many of us one 1 One Piece game? Now 2? 3? 4? All of them? How free is the access to the anime and manga? Youtube.... Bittorents... onemanga.com. We can prove that something exists if we can find it easy. But if we can't we can't include. Characters in games, there are pictures to prove they exist, but moves you need to look up a menu for. The easiest solution is not to include something you can't prove exists.
Its like trying to describe an alien when you've met one to someone who doesn't believe or has never met them, it isn't going to be easy. This is the sitaution for games. At the very least with the merchandise pages, we have webpages listing information on them, with games? A handful of pieces of information and screenshots. Somethings won't even be mentioned as their linked to copyright law and pre released red tape etc, being a gamer I'm used to reading about these stuff. Even in Japan, there will be things that are in their games but YOU have to find them yourselves.
This isn't a reply in general to our wikia here, but covers all websites. If a website has info on a game, then thats down to them, but I've yet to see many who have gone into depth on them. Look at other games out there where lots of people have access to their info freely and reglaurly. There are WOW sites by the number, Halo, Mortal Kombat, etc... But One Piece... We've talking a handful of pages with anything written on them. :-/
That's ridiculous.
Not including Video game information because you have to do a little looking to find that information is just odd.
If that were the case, then the Wikia's page on Unlimited Adventure/Cruise should just not exist, not to mention the page you guys have on that Original Character that ONLY appeared in Unlimited Adventure. He has an entire page devoted to him despite only appearing in that ONE Video game.
Those Two attacks are the ONLY time Luffy's EVER had attacks made up for him in Video games, they should be included for completeness sake.
Rin, Please discuss this on the wikia, my post was a nod to fansites in general I was not posting for the wikias benefit. Theres a lot I will discuss on the wikia but not on Arlong PArk forums. As my previous post stats, I would prefer it if we all keep things within communities.
If Cinder doesn't respond to PMs in a couple days, send the writing sample to me and I'll go ahead with the review. We'll ask Jonas, RoboBlue or Cinder to approve those who are selected.

I know how that feels.
I wrote the original article for Sir Crocodile on Wikipedia almost 4 years ago when Croc had his own page, and I had to monitor it everyday so people wouldn't just randomly remove stuff. It was so tedious, I got tired patrolling my own work all day just to get criticized in the reversion wars for what ultimately boiled down to a matter of personal preference.
That was when I joined the website staff. There weren't any "day changes" on AP.

We would most appreciate that. What I would like would be coloured panels of attack splashes and panels used by Moria, as well as his introduction page for a profile article. Any pun, obscure reference or double entendre notes for his attacks would be useful as well (like, say, if Brick Bats was a reference to Oda's middle school baseball team).

PM me a list of Everything you need Scan-Wise, and anything you need me to do Coloring, Translating, or typing up info for a website wise.
I've got some time off in the coming weeks, and would be glad and very willing to help out! ^_^

Funny story: I created his article on Wikipedia waaay back (and the articles for several OP characters, mostly Baroque members) when I had some free time one day, and then never touched them again in forever. Kinda funny considering your story there…
