well I cant wait to read this issue(if it ever gets here)
I cant see hwo this game can manke the franchise popular again since the last game was for NES/SNES
This has been in and out of the rumour mill since January…

I knew they were planning a CGI sequel at some point (due to actors being too old, etc.), and I also knew about the game, but a sequel in game form? That could actually be one of the coolest ideas I've seen.
I Heard about a new Ghostbusters along time ago.

Oh Jesus, I'm sorry then. We should all cut off our nut-sacks for not knowing about it as far back as others then. Thanks for letting us know how long ago you knew about it though. That was a remarkably thought-provoking and useful post.
In other news….
So lemme get this straight....
The CG movie is out.....
It's only a game.....
It's not even the AWESOME-looking Zootfly game we saw a few months back....
sigh Here's hoping.
Here's an article from Variety with screenshots from the game

Oh shit my anticipation for this game just shot up even further.

I wasn't trying to be negetive in any way. Hope you didn't take that to offense.
It's too early to say anything since what was shown in screenshots may not even make it into the game, but…..I dunno. More than a 'new' story it looks like, "Hey! Let's recreate classic moments from the Ghostbusters movies!" While it could be fun (despite having done it plenty of times before) I'd be somewhat put off if they didn't go full-on with a new fresh story as, let's face it, that's what the Ghostbusters generation has been waiting for.
Cheers to the setting as the early 90's though! Finally, my childhood (that I can remember) as nostalgia in a videogame! Does that mean I'm old?
The first movie was awesome
the second sucked
let's hope this'll be awesome
I love Aykroyd, though, so I'll be biased.
wow that screenshot really is awesome, and Co-op
Don't let the beams collide!
C'mon you guys, the law of sequels says that (if all-new) this will be worse than Ghostbusters 2.
WORSE THAN GHOSTBUSTERS 2
I don't really see why people are getting excited over this. It's not like Ghostbusters games have had a good track record.
Ghostbusters on the Sega Genesis and GB II for the Gameboy were pretty good actually.

Yeah really, how far could they really come in the 15 years that the last GB game was released?
….whenever I watched it before I never thought Ghostbuster II was that bad (I've never actually seen the entire thing, mostly bits and pieces on Comedy Central)
But now that I think back on it.... walking statue of liberty...
....yeah.
That little faggot rambling on about VIGGO still cracks me up though
Its pretty damn amazing they got quite a bit of the original cast to come back to voice their characters….I wonder how much it cost to get Murray.
But I'm stoked. Hopes for the Wii version to be decent

Haha, alright, it could be good I guess. Even so, there wasn't even this much excitement when a new Bionic Commando game was announced and the original Bionic Commando was a good game. So… I don't really know what point I'm trying to make here.
Watch this be a current gen remake of the NES Ghostbusters game.
There, I said it. :(
Does look hella awesome though. Do friggen want if it turns out to actually be good.
Conglaturation!!!
You Have Completed A Great Game.
And Prooved The Justice Of Our Culture.
Now Go And Rest Our Heroes!
This game is going to be insane!! The new footage caused my to wet myself.
OMG thats so awesomensh !!!!
i want a marshmellowman :(
well hope this turns out great and i hope that it will susprise us. Maybe we'll get a triple awesomnesh '08? Street Fighter movie, DBZ movie XD, and this?
Just got the issue of GameInformer yesterday, read the article, and this new game is going to be sweet.
The only thing that really irked me was the part where Egon says in response to the Stay-Puft marshmallow man throwing a helicopter at you was, "The pilot got out just in time." I was immediately reminded of a certain scene in the edited Dragonball Z dub. "It's okay, I can see their parachutes!"
It's going to be released next October, so hopefully they'll work out a way to have multiplayer (more than likely co-op rather than versus.)
The GameInformer issue came out? I'll have to pick that up tomorrow.
Pull out your Holy Shit pants.
GB3 is being written.

Please note that there are NO cast deals and that Murray has been firm in saying he wouldnt want to reprise a live action version of the role but nevertheless, it
s being written.
It's been written several times from the little I know, but they never got much further than that.
No, Ramis and Akroyd had ideas for it but eventually that was to become the CG film and now of course the game.
However, this is the first time a team has actually been tagged to write a full-fledged script with the potential of using it for a film. Which is very, very exciting if Murray doesn't wuss out.
I saw Bill Murray just recently on some talk show on Turner Classic Movies. He's really gotten the time taken out of him, he still seems to have a sense of humor tho. He kinda seemed a bit out of it in the interview at first but snapped around. I hope he'll agree to the film.

Yeah, the 60's….and 70's.....and 80's....will do that to you
No seriously, I hope he gets off his high 'art-house' horse and goes in for the plunge. How seriously cool would it be to see Murray (who now resembles Walter Donovan after drinking from the fake Grail) Akroyd with his massive grandpa jowels, Ramis who would now take up the entire screen and Ernie Hudson (whom time has been remarkably kind to and has taken great care of himself) suiting up one last time?
Nothing can go wrong right?
!
But no seriously, it would be neat if it happened.

You missed the 90's.

No shit? Then still?
Re: Die Hard 4, the lack of cursing and blood ruined it for me. The lack of logic didn't phase me that much since I expected it as soon as they said, "Internet." Anyway, I heard both elements may be found in the DVD release. Is this true and like I Am Legends' alternate ending, does it make the movie more enjoyable overall as I expected it to?
Hmmm the thought of them returning for a 3rd ghostbuster movie is making me think it's going to turn out bad.

Highly highly doubt it.
Bill Murray is only 57?! Damn, I thought he was in his 70s or something. He at least looks like it.
Funny, they've been trying to make a GB 3 for years, but they couldn't generate interest. I guess with the new game and the 80s being so popular right now it's got more people's attention.
god imagine little kids running around singing the ghostbusters theme that will most likely be redone by a more up to date popular band
I honestly doubt they'd redo something as popular in culture as the Ghostbusters theme song. If anything, simply re-record it or edit it for better sound quality.
I'm inclined to agree with you Buuhan but Run DMC did the Ghostbusters theme in GB2 and it definitely was different than the first movie.
That Was Run !!!!!????
Yeaop, it sure was.
uhh i love GB since i was a little little kid and now they will eventually release a 3th movie…makes me more than happy but we have to wait...but still it will be a pleasure for me to go into the cinema and watching a new cool movie which reminds me that much of my childhood
The best news you've ever heard ever.

Guys, get out the suits our mom's made us in pre-school.
First "The Office" writers, and now Bill Murray…that's it, count me in.
Can't say I'm excited about "The Office" writers. I've tried to watch the office but it's not funny and is very boring. It's great that Bill Murray is gonna be along for the ride.
You probably know nothing about subtle comedy then
Fucking awesome new Greg. Bill Murray was a huge reason this wasn't made years ago! Can't wait!
You probably know nothing about subtle comedy then
Guess not, and if it's anything like that, I don't want to.
Wow, Bill Murray enthusiastic about Ghostbusters again? This is truly amazing news. I really hope they can put together something decent and make me forget Ghostbusters 2 existed :P
I only just recently saw Ghostbusters "that I can remember". I still need to see 2, and don't tell me "DON'T!" cause I will either way.
You deserve the endure the pain, just like the rest of us!
Erm…Ghostbusters manga? :wassat:
