I loved the end of the Short Circuit review. JOHNNY FIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
-
-
Though I may be a little biased because I loved the Short Circuit movies growing up, but I think these reviews were some of his worst. It felt like his material was bland, and he was forcing himself to make fun of the movies.
-
That's because he actually liked those movies. :P
-
That's because he actually liked those movies. :P
Hmm, well he thought it was one of the better ones he's reviewed (certainly better than Garbage Pail Kids) but overall it still looked kinda cheesy and, at times, stupid.
-

Well this review was sure in the middle considering how much of his better his reviews are of movies that he hates, or when he reviews something that's excellent and points out a lot of the positive things. It felt like he forced himself to make fun of this movie, and it just didn't feel like it had a lot of heart in it.
-
Yes! His comparison review of Batman and The Dark Knight is up.
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/7184-batmanvsdk
I hope he does more with this Old vs. New bit. It has so much potential.
-
I thought it was pretty good. Using the Christian Bale temper tantrum in a cell phone call at the end actually caught me off guard, but it was kick-ass! XD
-
Hahaha! Good stuff.
Although I must admit, I disagree with him. I liked The Dark Knight more. Batman was just a smidgen too cheesy for me to thoroughly enjoy and be enthralled in like DK.
He makes his points well, though. And still funny. Now we just have to wait for him to compare Superman movies. shudder
-
I don't hate on him for making his choice, but I have to heavily disagree. The plot in Batman was really weak. All it is a series of events where Joker tries to do something and Batman easily foils it. For Christ's sake, he had a giant pair of scissors in front of the friggin' Bat Plane to cut the ropes of the balloons.
He does make a good point that TDK is mostly character development, perhaps a bit too much, but the fact that Joker was just a big mystery saved that.
-
"NO YOU SHUT UP! GO MAKE REIGN OF FIRE 2!"
I enjoyed that.
I agree with him though. (About B>B:DK)
-
I'm not suprised he liked the original more. He seems to prefer classics in general, from what I've seen. I mean, damn, he's still into Looney Tunes, for fart's sake!
-
Great review. Sure, I prefer TDK, but this video made me wonder why nobody put Bob into the comic book continuity. He's bearable in comparison to Harley Quinn.

I actually was a bit surprised that he chose Batman since he's made such a fuss over Dark Knight, what with the Bum Review and his Melvin sketch. For the record, I do prefer Dark Knight.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with still liking Lonney Tunes?
-
Nothing, but it's an indicator of his obvious love for the old stuff (besides that he does this show in the first place. Though that's not really that much of an indicator).
Oh, anyone catch the new guys? Guru Wez and Les, I think they're called? They seem pretty good so far. I likes 'em.
-
I just saw the first part of their Top 10 Wackiest Japanese games. I think they show some promise.
-
the batman episode was rly good stuff..iam not rly a fan of the nostalgia critic but some episodes..yeah they`re funny
-
I can't wait for the Nostalgia Critic's next two reviews.
Next Tuesday is Full House which I hope he tears a new one because I hate that show so much. The plots were boring, the writing was unfunny, and the morals it taught were stupid. I hope he goes to town on this one.
After that it's North, a movie so bad it ruined director Rob Reiner's career (and his resume includes This is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, When Harry Met Sally, and A Few Good Men)
The words "Bruce Willis in a Bunny Costume" should be a sign to show how bad this is. -
How could you forget The Princess Bride!?
-
How could you forget The Princess Bride!?
Because I'm a fool that's why.
Oh, according to The Critic's brother (Rob A.K.A. The Other Guy) Doug was making excuses not to watch Full House. Looks like this is going to be a GOOOD episode (the best one's are his reviews of god-awful movies/shows). -
I'm pretty sure Full House holds the record for the most overused laugh track in a sitcom. I found it a bit entertaining when I was younger, but looking back on it now, it's one of the dumbest shows. I'll never understand what I saw in it, or how it even caught on, for that matter.
-
At long last, the NC reviews Full House!
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/7511-fullhouse
Never did watch this show myself (and I'm glad I didn't) but still I personally think this was one of his best reviews ever. My favorite part was when he did the horse's voice.
-
I just watched the Full House review and the ending of it almost made me shit my pants and die of laughter at the same time.
-
I waited so long for this review and It was totally worth the wait.
God how much I hate this show. Just watching this short scenes gave my a headache. Full House is 'til today the unfunniest show I've ever watched. There were a lot other unfunny sitcoms this time, but some of them had at least some redeeming elements, but this show is pure, concentrated garbage.
And I swear I'm going to kill Dave Coulier.
I really hope the critic is going to review other bad sitcoms. Home Improvement would be great. -
The Full House reveiw had…
...THE BEST END EVER!!!
:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: I give it 4 out of 5 w00ts!
-
Just watched the review twice and it's one of his best.
I think the true answer to Full House's longevity will forever be a mystery. 8 Seasons, seriously what the hell?
I think Full House was the reason sitcoms got more risque. To avoid being unfunny garbage. -
Linkara needs to chill the fuck down….
-
Linkara needs to chill the fuck down….
What do you mean chill down? Linkara's freakin' awesome.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the NC's review of North next week. I never actually saw the movie myself, but Ebert's zero star review of it really has me intrigued.

I can't wait for the critic's review of Gargoyles.
-
Oh hell yes! Gargoyles! (I bet this is in reaction to not putting it on his Top 11 Animated Shows list)
I also can't wait for Top 11 Cereal Mascots and LOTR New vs. Old.
-
@Nobodyman- I liked his Blue Beetle tribute, but everytime he goes batshit insane, no matter how hilarious it is, at the end of the day he's just overexaggerating it IMO.
Personally I'd like to watch about stuff he likes than just criticizing bad comics (like reviewing 1 good series or comic for every 3-5 bad comics/series). I'd really like to see him talk about WWH and what it's good points were, since I didn't like it myself.
I also think he should make a review/video of the SNES ADMANTIUM RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!111Still, if you like the batshit insane madness he gets/induces, that's OK
I'll ask him if he could scan the letters page of Doom's IV #2, though I think if he read #1, one might see the idea of why the big red guy explodes like that. -
Is the site down or something? I can't access it.
BTW I noticed there was a review of Rock-a-doodle, was it just a bashing/negative review? -

BTW I noticed there was a review of Rock-a-doodle, was it just a bashing/negative review?Aren't they all?
But yeah, it was pretty negative, as it should be since it was a pretty bad movie. The Critic also took note of how this movie pretty much marked the downfall of Don Bluth's movie career.
-
Bob Saget's gone on record to say how much he HATED working on Full House in his stand up acts.
-
Aww I like Rock-a-doodle as a kid, I even plan to rewatch it eventually.
-
Bob Saget's gone on record to say how much he HATED working on Full House in his stand up acts.
I'd like to see that…
-
Yea, Bob Saget used to tell dirty jokes on the set of Full House, but forgot sometimes that kids were on the set so they heard some raunchy stuff. Maybe that's why Jodie Sweetin(stephanie) ended up using meth and the twins using coke.
-

Well, I just can't believe Bob Saget would do not one, but TWO family-friendly programs (AFHV) I mean, as a kid it put this image in my head that he was this good clean family guy. It wasn't until recent years that I learned his "true nature".

I know right? I didn't know about the real Bob Sagat until years later when i was in my late teens. He stated that he disliked both jobs but for some reason(money/fame?) gave up his super dirty stand-up for a time. Granted he did use his fame from those shows to grant him a seat in the pop icon hall of fame, then made a slow return to his first love.

I just watched Linkara's new video, and while I did enjoy it, why the fuck didn't he at least explain why he got the crappy cover instead of the Alex Ross variant?
…or did he just get the crappy cover version just for the sake of bitching about it? -

…or did he just get the crappy cover version just for the sake of bitching about it?I think that's the only version. The Alex Ross cover he was referencing was Xena by herself.
It was odd to see an episode so short but he stated he never watched the shows and really couldn't point out the plot holes if any. -
The review of "North" is finally up.
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/7838-north
I thought the review was pretty good.

North is up
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/7838-north
Wow, he even made reference to Siskel and Ebert's reviews. God this movie was awful.
EDIT: Gah! Ya just beat me to it mpz.
-
I think that's the only version. The Alex Ross cover he was referencing was Xena by herself.
Yeah but wouldn't that AR cover be another cover you could buy the comic with.
-
hey no worries Nobodyman.
Anyways I thought NC's top ten was hilarious! XD
-
Did anyone else find the Republican jokes in this review just plain odd? And not seeming to be referencing anything in particular, other than the fact that Doug just doesn't seem to like Dick Cheney and Friends?!
Yeah but wouldn't that AR cover be another cover you could buy the comic with.
Um, pretty sure that cover is to another comic entirely.
-

Ah OK, my bad then
So overall Xena and Herc issue was my fav. review of his ATM. -

Yah, I agree. They really aren't that relivant anymore. It like how John Stewart still trys to capitalize off of Bush jokes. Bush and Cheney jokes are basically like beating a dead horse. There should be more political jokes of current politicians. C'mon comedians, stop being lazy.

Eh, the way I see it is we're kind of in the transitional period. Obama hasn't even been in office for half a year, so I think we're still waiting on establishing what he and his staffs' shticks are gonna be. Plus c'mon, Bush and Cheney aren't that old. People still make fun of Bill Clinton and Al Gore (though not nearly as much)
