Well…it sounds like you're missing my point here. That being, if Blackbeard fought Shanks, regardless if he's weaker or stronger then Mihawk, that he's bound to get cut up during the fight.
So, to spell it out, it's very likely that Blackbeard can take getting cut with swords as well as he took getting burned. After all, burns don't just hurt, they eat away at the skin and muscle. In all likeliness, BB would take a blade about as well as Zoro if not better (especially at this point of the series).
Especially when, throughout One Piece fighters tend to just get cut across the chest and pass out. None of them really ever get cut through or (most of the time) amputated.
Ah shit I just re-read the damn thing. Its even worse: Not even blades can cut him anymore, although he will take the hurt (like enduring the pain of being poisoned). I thought that only went for DF attacks.
So not even Mihawk's Sword can hurt him, unless there's a way with Haki…onemoment, when he was fighting Shanks he didn't have the fruit. He fought on par with him and maybe they scarred each other, Mihawk is still stronger imo.
And nobody dies in One Piece, not by 4 ton bat to the nose, by sword or by 1000000 Lightening Bolt. -

It's a comparison. Luffy beat two of them, no matter how lucky and how underestimated he was, he was at least on the same level if not one or two below. However Kizaru is at least 10 levels above Luffy. He crushed 4 people who were about the same level as Luffy in seconds. That's the kind of comparison I wanted to point out.

So what if he could kill him with a touch? He didn't kill him with a touch IN SECONDS. You fail to realize that abilities alone are useless if you don't have the physical prowess to back them up. A random Marine could kil Luffy with a slash if he had the physical power to back it up. The fact that he wasn't killed in seconds the 1st fight and how he managed to hold his own in the second fight is enough. Kizaru would have killed Luffy in an instant.
Here let's use another comparison, when Luffy fought Crocodile the 1st time, he lost but he didn't lose immediately. he even managed to survive longer than Crocodile expected. Why is that because Crocodile wasn't THAT much stronger than him. yet when he fought Ao Kiji, he lost almost immediately. he was THAT much stronger than him. Power levels do have a play here and they're very apparent, what makes them awesome that rather characterized by strength, they're characterised by fighting ability + your devil fruit/other ability which makes it awesome. I think it's very clear that an Admiral is way stronger than at least some of the Shickibukai. Not to say they're weak ro anything, far from it, but an Admiral is just a whole other ball park.

I wonder, does Blackbeard need to take the full blow? Couldn't he absorb the attack before It hits his body, through a dark hole, for example? After the Blackbeard vs Ace battle, I've got the impression that the damage he takes multiplies only If It actually touches his solid body. I just wondered, Blackbeard only said that he still has a solid body instead of the average logia body with perfect defence and that if actually hit, the damage gets bigger than it would normally be. But I could see him canceling a attack like the Fire Fist with sucking it up in the Black Hole, like he did it with the town on Banaro Island or the guards in Impel Down.

I haven't been this excited for the next chapter of One Piece since the chapter where all the Strawhats were blasted away by Kuma. It's been about a 9 months… been long enough. Can't wait to see what happens in the upcoming chapters.

I thought about this too but even if he could, that wouldn't be of much help against someone like Kizaru who can move at the speed of light. He can never be able to block an attack he never sees coming. . .

Me and, in the end, everyone will probably regret this, but I have to talk about the bounties. In relation to Thousand Lion-chan's comment that Kizaru beat four guys as strong as Luffy. While I don't completely agree with that, I hope the "bounties don't matter" crowd doesn't think that those four supernova are just some losers.
After all, it's at least been established that it takes something major to earn a 100 million bounty. That fact that Luffy had to beat Crocodile to do it should say plenty about the level of those guys.
