_Thanks!
red2z, you are still one of my heroes for that Pandaman thing. XD Wow._
Ugh, sorry about the double posting… again. x_x. I've been a sewing fiend the past few days.
Kalifa = done. <3 The collar and cuffs are ribbed and everything, it just doesn't really show up in pictures. O_o. I'm probably not wearing this anywhere until Otakon, so my hair will be longer and blonde by then and I'll have the earrings and I might actually have accurate boots. I have a friend who'll be going as Iceburg so I'm gonna tag along with him the whole time. XD
I thought Califa had pantyhose?
Only when she's doing the CP9 thing.
I have good news! I went to Sports Academy today and I found some brown overalls for my Usopp cosplay!! :D They're not dark brown like his, but they're brown nonetheless!! It's a lot better than blue! I also saw a man with a real parrot on his shoulder. :blink: I was tempted to ask him if he was a pirate, but I didn't.
fin fish, you make a mighty sexy Kalifa! B)
Thanks! And that's awesome, I LOVE finding decent costume pieces already made. XD I'm so lazy. You'll be wearing that costume to Metro, right? I'll keep an eye out for you!
Anime-Expo is coming up, and since I'm in desparate ned of a costume, I've ultimately decided on doing a ghetto cosplay of Sanji from the water seven arc. I'll try and get a picture posted when I finish it.

Yep! I'll be Usopp for all three days. I can't wait to meet you in person! Did I mention that me, my lil bro as Luffy, and my friend as Kuro will be performing a skit in the Cosplay Competition?
I got dark brown overalls at the Salvation Army. :D I wish I could sew to make the white cuffs, though, I have to get someone to do it for me.

I made my cuffs out of thin foam and hot glued them on.
Just a picture of the log pose I will be using for my Nami cosplay at Metrocon this year. Not that great, but it works. I will probably make a nicer one in the future if I keep cosplaying Nami. I basically popped the face off of this watch, painted it, and glued the ball on… which was originally a toy I had a a child. So that worked out well for being a quicky log pose. xD I am making a new needle for it though... I don't like the one in the picture.
It looks great! I failed miserably with my first log pose attempt back in the day and haven't gotten around to trying again yet. X_x.;
Thanks a lot! Honestly, I am not happy with the globe on it. It is kinda scuffed because it was pretty old. It looks all right though. I don't know where I would find another ball like that at such short notice, so it will be good for now. Plus, I don't want to put my friend (he will be cosplaying Wiper at Metro, so much One Piece cosplay~) through the misery of cutting a hole in the bottom of another one. lol.
Both of my outfits for Metro are nearly done, and doing pretty good. Got the lines drawn on the Water 7 shirt, so all that's left for that is finishing up the vest. Plus I probably need to find a better pair of pants, but that's easy since all three outfits have the black pants. And then I've got the strap mostly together for Davy Back Sanji, just need to do a final one. I'm pretty proud of it, and the ball stays in there pretty well even without attaching it all together again.
Oh, and tonight I've pretty much decided I need to cosplay Shuraiya from Movie 4 since he has my exact hair style. And he's got a pimp top-hat just like Lucci.
I don't plan on going to any conventions. But, a good excuse to cosplay is a costume dance that my school has every year. Next year, I'll try to do Shanks. I'll have to grow a beard, find some hair dye, a trench coat, and a straw hat.
Last year, my friend cosplayed as Vash the Stampede, and I was Tsumiyoshi from Excel Saga. This year, I tried doing my own version of Strong Sad from Homestar Runner. I also thought about Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist.

Shuraiya is so pimp. xD I am glad you want to cosplay him now. The second I saw him I thought of you. I think that would be fun to cosplay too. AND NO HAIR TROUBLES FOR YOU OMGZ. It is like a miracle.
Ooh, neat log pose. :D
I made my cuffs out of thin foam and hot glued them on.
Well, that's one way to do it. It seems like it would run the risk of coming off, though.

**
Nope. The only way to get them off is to really rip and tear at them. I tried to just peel off the ones on my blue overalls but they tore. There's still some bits of foam stuck to them. I had to make 2 new cuffs from scratch to put on my new brown overalls.
On a complete whim this morning, I decided to also make a Davy Back Nami costume for Metrocon. I have everything for it, I just need to dye and put the letters on the shirt. xD So. That will be good since Nurlock is being Davy Back Sanji also. My Water 7 costume is almost done. The shirt has been dyed, the tie has been finished, and all that remains is the hemming of the skirt and the repairing of the shoes. Grah, excitement. I haven't been to a convention in a while.
Hurray~.
This is the only good picture I could find of me as Ben Beckmann and my boyfriend as Shanks. They're both slightly ghetto since he forgot things from last year's Shanks and I didn't have the materials yet to bind my chest. My hair wasn't the right length, either (had to cut it for the Rock Lee wig.)
This picture was taken at A-kon 16 just a few weeks ago.
Once I can find a better picture I'll post myself as Rock Lee and a friend as Gai-sensei in the other thread.
Pretty good for ghetto cosplay! :)

I would like to see.. Im planning a W7 Sanji for some time next year. If I only had more cons.. I would have more reasons to make new costumes.
MMM throwing some Anime next cosplay photos at ya!

Anime next was incredible X_X I plan on going to Otakon this year (Providing i havent started college by then.) I'm working on a Chopper Cosplay now (Because it dawned on me that it'd be great to have a relatively easy cosplay to do so i could switch on and off between days + cosplay every day) Its going to so risque , short-shorts, a back pack and a top hat MWAHAHAHAHA I also learned that I look pretty sick with dredges of eye liner under my eyes, this had inspired me to do another semi-easy cosplay of Gin! mm his weapons are going to be fun to make.
I still love your Pell so much. <3
I'm loving the Chopper and Gin ideas too. XD You almost never see Gin cosplayed. I hope I see you at Otakon!
thats an impressive cosplay Hyper Dingo.
Finally getting some pictures of my outfits. Everything's mostly done, I just need to make a final version of the ball-strap for Davy Back Sanji (one in the picture was a test to see if it would all stay together and balance on my head).
Davy Back shirt
Davy Back ball
Water 7 shirt
(On a side note, how do you make thumbnails on here?)
Cool! Now I know exactly what to look for when we meet at Metro!
That's one of the best Sanji wigs I've seen. <3
This Skypiea Nami's probably what I'll be wearing since my Lucci wig never actually got here. O_o.; What's sad is that as ridiculously simple a costume this is… I spent like, 10 hours on the stupid pockets and they still look like crap. And I haven't added the buttons yet. Oh well, it's still the most comfortable thing in the world. XD And yay clima-tact.
Some specifics about the parts that had to be made:
Davy Back shirt: it was pure white, so I used food dye to get it the light lavender color it has.
Davy Back tie: Had to custom make that, since solid color ties are hard as hell to fine. Had to draw the lines on then, too.
Davy Back ball: That was once a pure red ball. That was fun to make, taping it up and then spraypainting it.
Davy Back ball-strap: Found an elastic belt that stays around my head pretty well, now I just need to make a final base for the ball.
Water 7 shirt: I don't know how, but somehow we found an orange dress shirt and just had to draw the lines on like my original Sanji outfit was.
Water 7 vest: Mom did that one. I'm no good at making things like that.
Then the Water 7 tie, as well as the shoes and pants for both, are from my original. Plain black makes it really simple. Now all we've got left to do is finish up some pieces of deathberry's Nami outfits, mainly the skirt for Water 7. Got the Davy Back shirt done today, the one that says "GOLD" on it. Such fun times.. can't wait to wear these.
Nurlock, I'm breaking into your house tonight and stealing all of that shit.

But a naked Sanji is no good! ;o;
Okay first off - Nurlock, awesome Water 7 and Davy Jones stuffages! I love that wig as well…how did you do the stripes, or were you lucky enough to find it?
Fin - I <3 your clima-tact! What kind of paint did you use, and on what? I used PVC, and the only light blue plastic paint I could find was way off >.<
Hyper Dingo, I <3 your Pell so much. In any case, here's a few more shots from AN
Hyper Dingo as Pell
Agent Ginrei as Sanji
My friend Ameria-chan as Luffy, Madgophermm5 as Mr. Prince, myself as Nami (bleh, I look weird), and Hyper Dingo as Pell. I wish Agent Ginrei had been here for this one…then I coulda made Monty change into Alabasta Zoro!
In the Anime Next cosplay, our One Piece skit won second place. It basically involved Nami making Luffy and Zoro wear dresses for a drag queen contest...Sanji seeing Luffy and thinking he was a girl...kissing him, realizing what he did, and then running off to get drunk...and finally Zoro singing "I feel preeeetty...oh so preeeetty...I feel pretty and witty and gay" with a grand finale of Sanji wandering on in time to see Zoro's musical number, spitting out "booze" in his face, before wandering off, chugging some more. Some pictures can be found here and here…but they're kind of scary x_x I wish EvilGamerX had agreed to do our Luffy, I think he would have been a better woman, and Monty agreed on this =P He also would have gotten a judges' choice award, too, because one of the judges was "touched" by his performance, in ways she couldn't understand. THAT COULD HAVE BEEN YOU, JASON!! XD
I need sleep ;-; More pictures (although mostly my FMA ones) coming soon...along with the Zoro/Nami voice actor report (don't expect any big time answers from that.)
Haahahahaa!
Did Zoro sing like Adam Sandler from Anger Management?
Wow, and that only got second place. What the hell could have topped that for first? And is that a flower in Luffy's hat? That is too funny.
Oh man, I really wish I could see those skits of yours first-hand, they always sound like a riot. And I love Ameria-chan's makeshift "meat" there, that's a really clever touch.
Well, even if there's not much to report on, I'm still curious to hear what the voice actors had to say. ^^
Man, I need to get off my butt and make an Alabasta Nami outfit already….
--Bevin
Great Nami cosplay as usual! That skit sounds hilarious and slightly disturbing! I wish I could've been there to have seen it! I wonder if anybody didn't know that your friend cosplaying as Luffy was a girl. That would make the brief Sanji x Luffy even better! :lol:
That sounds awesome, Ginny XD I wish I could have gone and seen that.
I used PVC pipe for the clima-tact too, and just used some light blue Rustoleum gloss spray paint. It doesn't look as nice and aqua-y in person as it does in the picture (more of a powder blue), but it's still pretty. XD;
Steve didn't sing it loud enough, that's all I can say about that. As for what won first place, something with a bunch of Tenchi characters dancing to a Spice Girls song. (I couldn't see it because I was back stage) There was also an Elegant Gothic Lolita skit with people doing a crazy coreographed dance to "Are you going to the Scarborough Fair" that was Best In Show. I later saw that skit on video, and while it was gorgeous, I personally think tying an actual anime or manga into it would have made it better (Angel Sancutary could have worked.)
One thing I AM very proud of is the fact that we were the ONLY skit without prerecorded music or dialogue to win ANY skit prize, period. See, the sound for the cosplay was EXTREMELY bad. In the back, they heard nothing at all, unless it was being played over speakers. The good thing about our skits….a) Monty and I have big mouths and B) A lot of our humor was visible humor. In any case, we've done three perverted One Piece skits, and won prizes for all three of them. The trilogy is now complete! Now we must move on to new things...well...maybe =P
And UsoppWAPP - Just look at the pictures from the skit..I think you'll get a bit of a surprise. ^_^* We pride our selves on always using real guys for our yaoi =P (Stage kissing, of course.) Our Alabasta Luffy, Ameria-chan was the female Luffy..but she wasn't in the skit.
Fin - Thank you! ^_^ And I should keep an eye out for that paint. I don't even remember what I used initially, it was over a year ago. all I know is it wasn't supposed to chip, and it chips anyway...so might as well go for something somewhat closer in color. It's always great when things photograph closer to the color they should be XD
In any case...there really wasn't a lot of One Piece cosplay over all at this con, that I saw. A few Luffy's here and there. One other Zoro. But not a huge amount. I was also not out as much as I usually am...but that will be explained in the General cosplay section. In any case, the only other pics I have...
No, that is not a Naruto headband around my neck…it actually has the strawhat logo on it XD! Some awesome artist alley people were selling them, but unfortunately they had to do it out of their room, since Bandai is cracking down on "bootleg" Naruto merchandise, and they had the regular Naruto ones as well.
Cracked crossover pairing from heeeeelll!!! And yeah, that Skypiea top needs work. It held me fine, at least, I had no wardrobe malfunctions =P I also need a better belt. Eventually.
Some time in the near future I'll have pics in the General Cosplay thread as well…along with the reason WHY I wasn't walking around the con as much as usual.
Your Skypiea Nami looks SO good! <3 As far as the belt goes, I found a brown belt with metal circle things in it at Walmart for $8.73 last week. XD Total score. So you could check for that.
I actually got the spray paint at Walmart too. O_o.;

nurlock, what did you use to draw those lines to the shirts?
i want a sanji-shirt too, but it doesn't seem to be that easy to find a black-striped blue shirt anywhere.and ginny, that's awesome cosplay.
oh, and fin fish, you are so hot i could eat you off a bread.
Naked Sanji IS the way to go. XD And wow, thank you! XD
Ginny - I took a picture of the belt just now so you can see if it's worth a trip to Walmart. O_o.;;
Yeah, that's sexy. XD Anyway, the brown is really dark and the circles are silver, but I still think it's pretty hot, all things considered. And cheap. <3_
