Damn, that was awesome! Mustang really let loose this chapter and understandably so. I actually really wanted him to kill Envy (seriously, can't the little fucker just die already?), but I guess he couldn't or he would be "consumed by the flames" as Scar said. Riza was also really badass, Mustang's a lucky man And yeah, I'd say Envy has suffered an adequate amount (evaporating eye fluids, yikes)
Poor Ms. Bradley, I hope that Selim doesn't eat her
Now that's a disturbing thought. Still, it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. No matter what though, I can't see that things are going to end well for her, what with her husband and son turning out to be Homunculi.
So supposedly we only have 6 chapters. …hmm, I dunno, there's still a lot of loose ends to tie up. I'm not sure if Arakawa will be able to meet her mark.
Also, I agree with Arakawa that it's really surprising that Scar got ranked so low in the Popularity Contest.
-
Hawkeyes was way too badass in this one.
Heh, no "s" for Riza's last name. You're confusing it with Mihawk's nickname.
-

Which is exactly why I loved it. At first I thought that he should have remained dead, but seeing that he got brought back for this uber ass whooping I'm all in for it. And it even came with cool lines. "That filthy mouth of yours must have a lot of oil in it. It burns well Envy" is already one of my favorite lines in all manga. Also the "I can't believe you made yourself a bigger target" is awesome written all over it. That's how you can make a superior character raping the inferior one interesting. Sadly not all mangaka coughKubochough don't really get that.
-
amazing how strong flames become with rage fueling it… i guess rape really is a legal tool in warfare.
mustangs 2nd seat among FMA characters in popularity is well-deserved, but in points of badass and kickass he is definitivly first. his pinpoit attacks are especially gruesome, but i like seeing homunculi on the verge of death most with their skelletons starting to show -that always looks awesome.
but good thing that the nr.1 squid, ahem, i mean man, showed up to save mustangs soul before he let things run outta hand... climax is still up for next chap and i already hate that long wait, but as long as we always get furious chapters like this, it's more than woth the wait! -
great chapter finally envy is running with his tail between his legs and yes riza tricking envy like that was fucking awesome.
-
Colonel Mustang is a beast.
-
awesome chapter, of course.
ALSO, what days do the new episodes come out? sunday like one piece? o_O
-
Berserker Flame Alchemist? SUPER! End of chapter? SUPER! Riza moment? SUPAR, actually I waited "burn bitch acciedently" moment but that was even SUPER! cause it shows that Riza isnt useless side female character. IT SURE IS ONE OF THE BEST MANGAS seriously.

Strange works now. Yesterday I received a "firefox doesn't know how to open the site" message. Weird. =/
Edit: What the fuck? This was a softie again.

Weird, The MPEG4 file I DLed played the subs fine.
Your best solution (and trust me this may help in the long run) is to install the latest K-Lite Mega Codec which also has Media Player Classic. If you have VLC Player ATM, I recommend uninstalling it.
When you're choosing the settings and codecs, don't choose home cinema since it'll cause the player to crash sometimes. This'll also install VobSub, which MIGHT be why you can't view the subtitles. -
im up to Vol.3 on this series XD I might start getting DVDs and mangas of this show
what company Dubs the show? -
Funimation. However, I strongly suggest the remake that premeired with a filler episode last week. The original Anime had a filler ending.
-
That episode was seriously consensed as a pose to the manga chapters. It wasn't bad, but it did feel very rushed at times. I would've rathered they put the Elric brothers backstories where they were in the manga, after Rush Valley.
-
Im i the only one who felt that the character's animation were better in the previous FMA series?

what company Dubs the show?Just hold out awhile; the new anime is covering the whole manga, the old one only covered a small bit of the manga.
-
The older ones is still plenty entertaining. Why not watch both?

Why not watch both?
It is useless talking about anything series one FMA anime to an FMA manga fan.
You would have a better chance of persuading a brick wall to run for president.
During the midterm election.

i think they rushed over stuff that they focus'd on in the first series. Like Ed's recovery was shown in a bit more detail in the first one. Where as this time, they really covered the whole loss of limbs thing and the truth.

Yep, they did pretty much leave out all of Ed's recovery and nerve connecting. It'll probably be shown some point in the future.
-
Ed's recovery wasn't focused on too heavily in the manga.
So it's nothing really missed.
-
I loved how they depicted him after the accident when Roy was there. they got his traumatization so well.

I do like the original, but if he's gonna spend money he should buy the story he's already used to.

This post is deleted!

I can't get over that I guessed this about 3 years ago xD Compleatly out of the blue.
Personally, I think the new anime is freakin' sweet. If you liked the first one, and were too lazy to read the manga, watch the new one to see how awesome the manga is. There you go, you illiterate monkeys you.
Or, at least I hope I'm right…
Oh and the reason why the animation is off is beacuse it's more true to the Manga artwork. When they first made the anime, it varied but they are vocusing on the true version of the manga for that added effect. -
character design and animation are 2 different things….
it's nice to see a person can actually post in this thread about the old anime now, without getting tottally bashed and flamed out for liking it. So frustrating that this is my favorite anime, and I could never post about it here. Thank you current posters for letting others have an opinion.
-
I tend to consider FMA the manga and FMA the original anime series to be two completly differn't series even though they both use the same characters.

Yeah, you are absolutely correct. I also think of it like that, but more like w/ Negima Neo (it is something like that though)
-

They basically are; there are manga concepts that the anime changed, for exapmple how Humonculi are created. Not to mention the obvious character changes.

Do we have a Brotherhood Episode 2 torrent?
-
That's like asking, "does a bear live in the woods"?
There are TONS of FMA 02 torrents out, the earliest within eight hours of the episode premier. Of all shows this season, there are perhaps too many torrents.

People have boners for FMA, especially femboners. They always have. This is how I can guarantee Adult Swim is gonna air Brotherhood once FUNi gets it dub. The Saturday night run of FMA AS has been doing is probably gonna be the last we'll see of it, I can't see AS airing two FMA's. I see them letting their license expire once they get BH, that is if FMA and BH aren't under the same license.

Which begs the question, what the hell is the point? Isn't Funimation subbing them and posting them soon after they air?
-
Those aren't posted until 4 days after it airs..

There's nothing really wrong with the first anime adaptation, besides being random and overly dramatic at times. All in all, it's pretty enjoyable to watch, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the manga.
-
@ Demon. Yeah, and it's an awesome episode.
I never did like the Anime Wrath though…
(Compleatly off topic) -
Eh, I liked Wrath a lot better before Envy fed him some Red Stones and he went from an innocent little kid to a surly teenager.
I actually thought the first anime had some interesting stuff like expanding on the religious movement in Lior, or the Gate being a portal to other worlds (Really, who saw Ed stuck in WWI era London coming?), but it did flanderize everyone's angst, and even helped it along with all of the soul-crushing stuff that happens in the last fifteen or so episodes. And how can I forget Archer coming back as the Terminator. Even with their world's schizo tech, it still felt out of place. Apparently his brain was so compact that even with half his head blown off it wasn't damaged.
Not to mention the  look on my face when I realized that Dante's evil plan was to bodyjack Rose and then try to seduce Ed. Talk about your evil stepmoms…
-
The anime sucked.
-
You suck.
(jk, please dont ban me.)

Watched the first two episodes finally. Is it just me, or did they get a different voice actor for Roy Mustang? Maybe it's because I haven't watched the first series in forever, but he sounds a little off for me.
-
Yeah, he's being voiced by Shinichiro Miki now. So far the only cast members who have reprised their roles are the seiyuu for Ed, Al, Bradley, Hughes, Armstrong, Trisha, and Pinako.
-
Which reminds me, why the HELL is Funi's Mustang going to voice Al now? If anything, he should be taking on the role of Armstrong in a live-action movie. I'm serious, in the video where he announces his role as Zoro, I was mistaken at first to think he was Armstrong because he was large, bald, and beefy. For a full five minutes afterward, I even confused the names Mustang and Armstrong because of it.
-
Confirmation on Chris Sabet voicing Al, please?
-
O_____________O
What?
I'm sorry, is it time to go on a rampaging homicidal crazy fest?
Do they have a full list of the American voices yet?
