Merry's funeral, Chopper's past and Nami stabbing herself.
come to think of it, does EVERY crew of one piece have to have tragic childhood?
Brook's whole crew died from the diese and poison
Brook was thirty-eight (or possibly as old as forty by the time they actually died). You have a strange definition of "childhood."
For me the saddest moments have to be:
Bellemere's death, and the entire Arlong arc really. There was so much emotional power there… when Luffy shouted "Nami is my nakama!!" while fighting Arlong I knew that for sure I loved One Piece ;;
The entire Luffy/Usopp conflict made me feel like OP as I knew it was ending.
Merry's funeral (in the manga)
Brook's flashback... oh man, that was just terrible ;;
"I couldn't save a single nakama..."
A lot more parts than that made me tear up though. There is so much emotional driving force behind this manga that I've found myself moved to tears on many occasions, or at least close to it.
I cry every time at the disband of Usopp's Pirates, as well as Hiruluk's farewell speech. I can't even read or watch the Usopp vs Luffy fight, it's too painful. One of the happiest moments for me was when Usopp came back and when Merry came to the rescue. I also loved when the whole crew refused to hand over Luffy's head. Such strong loyalty. One Piece has some of the best emotional scenes out of anything I've ever read.
Chopper's past hands down. When Hiruluk raised his cup "THIS HAS TRULY BEEN A WONDERFUL LIFE!!"- i couldn't hold it back. Shit i was around people too lol.

This scene is the most tear jerking to me as well. I dont care who comes later in the series, Dr. Hiruluk is my favorite character for how he lived and how he died.
When Sanji saw his first and new wanted poster, man that was emotional for me.
I always lose it when I read or watch Norland's story and his death. Then Luffy kicks the crap out of Enel and rings the bell for M. Cricket. Such a well done story.
The one that always sticks to my head when I think about one piece is chapter 216 double spread
quating above….
u know i always wondered what happened to these marks
they're supposed to be the sign of nakama, right? but it's sure erased now
i would feel really bad if vivi and carou still haven't washed their arms........
Haha. The water probably washed the marks away.
My list:
1- Death of Bellmere.
2- Nami's cutting herself in anger when Luffy stops her. "Luffy… Help me".
3- Nico Robin alone in the ocean, trying to laugh while crying, and watching her island completely decimated.
4- Hiruluk's death. "A man dies when he's forgotten".
5- Brook's flashback. "Quartet, Trio, Duet, Solo..." and silence. And then he spents the next 50 years alone. And the while we see all three stages of his life, and he's singing "Bink's Sake". Damn!
6- Going Merry's viking funeral.
7- The "sign of friendship" farewell of the SH to Vivi.
8- Chopper to Hiruluk, after risking his life to get the poisonous mushroom. "Tell me how to be a doctor".
9- Pell's: "I'm the guardian beast of Alabasta: the falcon!" and then the bomb explodes (he survived, but the moment itself made me all teary).
when Sanji says "more thee ~nami-swaaan~?" I am always in tears . . .
Answer to the threads question: When the SH crew was owned by Kizaru+Sentomarou+Pacifista.
1.going merry's viking funeral in the manga really made me tear up
2.chopper's past with hiruluk is pretty touching too
3.the arlong arc

Well they don't have the mark anymore, but because of the situation that they were in they could not say bye to Vivi because she was a princess of a nation and to be associated with pirates is something royalties should not do. So the only way to say bye was through that mark; kind of like a spur of the moment kind of thing =]
Sanji when he realised what Zeff had for him on the island and when they said goodbye.
when robin grabbed frankys balls…....................that made me cry, oh the agony lol
1.going merry's viking funeral in the manga really made me tear up
Damn, how could I forget this moment! Added to my list above!
In the manga, Robin's past.
In the anime, Merry's death.
To me, these are easily the saddest scenes.
Merry's funeral.
Chopper's past/arc/movie as a whole.
Robin's past.
! When Luffy started crying on Shabondy after he couldnt save the rest of the crew.
Most emotional:
Chopper's Past "Thank goodness. No one's sick!"
Splitting of Crew "Luffy. Help me!!"
Usopp vs. Luffy, along with Usopp's Apology after Enies Lobby "You idiot! Hurry and grab hold!!" Sanji: "whoooooooaaaa!!!""
Norland back story
Usopp sniping off the Marines (I was really excited)
I was pretty pumped when the gang was walking all badass towards Arlong Park, but nothing about the Nami backstory hit me particularly hard.
Luffy crying after beating the shit out of Usopp. Those were the manliest tears I've ever seen in a manga.
i almost cry when merry came to the rescue of everybody on enies lobby
not the greatest tearjerking moment but that one really got me
I cried like a bitch in front of my GF when merry died I find that to be the biggest one since its the final good bye I saw it in Anime so its great dramatic build up with the fire the music the tears and sobs of the crew and Merry's voice.
The death of DR Hiruluk is also very sad.
Sanji when he realised what Zeff had for him on the island and when they said goodbye.
same here, and chopper's past
Mine are:
-Brook's crew dying off while he is playing
-Going Merry's Funeral
-Nami's plead for help
-Dr. Kureha crying because Chopper was leaving with Luffy
-Robin biting the bridge to keep from crossing the bridge
-"I couldn't even save a single nakama."
My list
1.Usopp leaves and returns
2.Robin shouting "i want to live"
3.merrys viking funeral
4.Usopp/Sogeking burns the flag of world goverment
5. basically whole water seven/enies lobby ark
hands down it would have to be choppers past.
Then nami's past and luffy saving her.
then merry's death.
1. Merry's death
2. Nami's backstory
Saddest scene in One Piece, or most emotional, or tear jerking, haven't meet one yet.
There are a lot of emotional scenes. But none of them were enough to make me cry.
1,Merrys death
! 2.the whole Crew Split up when it happens
None of them made me cry, but Nami's, Chopper's, Robin's, Franky's and Brook's flashbackes made me sad.
Also, there were too scenes that made me shiver from almost crying, those were:
"Live? I tought I couldn't wish for it… Then... Then..
I WANT TO LIVEEEEEEEEEEE"
And the other was: "LET'S GO BACK TOGETHER…..... ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN
The latest chapter was quite tear-jerking in my opinion. Seeing Luffy struggling so desperately despite how the poison was affecting his body then seeing him so helpless when he suffered the hydra. Mr.2's declaration of friendship was quite emotional as well:cwy:
never have i been left tearful from a chapter of the Manga. Sad certainly, but i didn't choke up ever (so far anyway).
The Anime however, due to brilliant voice acting, has gotten me twice so far, three times i guess if you count Funimation's seperatley:
1. Bellemere's death scene (Funi did a great job with it too, really hit me hard watching it on my laptop in bed, lol)
2. the end of Binks Sake (specifically Brook's "countdown": quartet….trio...duet...solo)
robin's past, i cried the first time, and when i went to read it a second time <___<
merry's death, cried in the manga, even more in the anime
when luffy couldnt save a single nakama
franky's past also
namis a bit
usopps a bit
choppers a bit
while i didnt cry for the other character's past, they were pretty damn sad
seriously, one piece's child hood is ACTUALLY sad, unlike when i'm reading naruto, its like
oh look!….. a person who i dont even know just died
-character starts crying-
fking wuss - -
In choppers past when doctor "thingie", runs up to the castle praying that the doctors are ok, and he's so happy when he sees they are.
And Robin!!! Past and CP9. Her and Saul in the anime when she tried to laugh like him … ahh ;)
