Guess this week will be 90% flaming the manga off in the FT-forums for Mashima having wasted Mist Gun. But still I expect a great story since this result alone really would be lame. It's probably the best to trust the author in times like these.

! alright.. so of course I thought the worst after reading posted spoilers. But now i'm finished reading the RAW and to be completely honest… I dont care. Really! the chapter was great! Gerard may have not been who I expected or wanted Mistgun to be.. but it does give the character a chance to gain some more significance. Also.. with people saying that Luxus called him "another" it seems he's a clone or whatever. I'm interested.

! anyhoo.. i agree with haggis. I see this chapter as a Mashima taking a large risk. And so far, Fairy Tail has been a pretty "safe" manga. No developments that might polarize the fan base (like say… if he would have actually killed off Erza). There is a chance for a good payoff with this development. I'm not sure what.. but it's interesting to me. Especially since I wasn't putting the majority of my faith in Mistgun anyway. I mean.. if he was just some badass mage.. while that may be fine and all... in the end he'd be boring and just get pushed to the side like the other "badass" mages.

that battle b/w mistgun and luxus seemed pretty good to me. see what else mistgun had in his sleeve, but was really dissapointed with revelation and him going away. a real shy guy. oh mistgun seemed to have smoke logia. awsome. so it was basically enel vs. smoker.

Unless he's got a damn good reason, and I mean damn good for Mistgun to be a real lame then Mashima can burn in hell. Now Gildartz is my last hope for an awesome s-class, with Luxus being a overconfident I need to surpass you and avenge my father lame and Ezra being a I need to help my friend so ill powerup lame. Fairy Tail is really taking a nose dive past few chapters, dissapointing. -

So I briefly read through the spoilers fairly quickly. I'm going to suggest a theory. Mistgun's true face is not Gerard's/Sieglains. He immediately through up an illusion to cover his real identity since Ezra/Natsu came into the room. Mistgun is really shy right? It would make quite a bit of sense to hide his identity. Just a thought.
