So after rereading the anime I reread the whole manga and saw some stuff I missed.
Anime/Manga difference: Manga gives some more insight on why the Queen was part of Griffith's assassination. Anime just has her being burned but never explains why. Manga tells she did it because she was having an affair with the general noble who was behind the plot. He was the one Guts killed along with his son.
Gecko135: Yeah Ganishka is a apostle.
VL7: I forgot about that Elf comment. So it's possible he's alive by magical means. But the destruction of that kingdom was a sacrifice summoning to the Godhand to become a Apostle. I skipped it when I reread it for you. But later in the volume. Guts drops his torch down and it falls to the bottom of the stairs. There whole floor is littered with skeletons with brands on them. Also at the eclispe, Void tells he has been opposing them for a thousand years which is the same time as the kingdom's destruction. If he's a sacrifice, a Apostle or something else is up in the air. But whatever did happen to make him oppose the Godhand happened around that time.
Rereading the series, it seems like Guts is ultimately a part of some greater design or you can say his destiny. Looks like he was destined to survive the eclipse. Alot of coincidences if you will. While Guts is AWOL from the Hawks he stumbles across the Skullknight and befriends Godo during his journey.
Closer to the Eclipse while Griffith is being rescued, Rickert rides along a fortune teller and gets some Elf dust. As Rickert leaves the fortune teller mentions that was a chance encounter. During the Eclipse, the Skullknight ultimately rescues Guts and Caska. Void says something like that was unexpected. Slan responses saying We are not Gods after all and can't predict the future. Maybe that was fated to happen. As the Skullknight exits, a recently arrived Rickert is able to cure them with the elf dust he receives. Skullknight then brings them to a close mine which has a elf cave that branded people could so happen to stay at. Which is Godo's mine that Guts stumbed upon on his journey.
Fast forward to after Guts leaves and he meets Puck. When Guts returns, a shocked Puck remarks on how amazing it was that the little boy, that his travelling troupe belonged to and gave the elf dust to end up being Rickert, Gut's friend. Later they meet a Witch who so happened to have a mentor that was Skullknight's friend from long ago. Flora tells Schierke that man is her fate. As they leave, Flora talks about how maybe theirs no such thing as chance encounters.
Makes you really think though what Gut's is destined for. Was he made a counterbalance to Griffith by the Idea of Evil as a motivation to become Femto. But why let him fight against the laws of casuality for so long and has a opposition that directly opposes a designed evil path for your world. Was this a fated opposition to some unheard as of yet Idea of Good that has made Guts into a fated Hawk of Light to directly oppose a Idea of Evil fated Hawk of Darkness?
