caribou's reaction to luffy this chapter "strawhaaaaat!!" is different to his reaction to the entire crew when he found he was alone on their ship "if i play it cool, i can take them out one by one". i wonder if he watched the fight.

poor caribou, with haki, this won't be much of a treasure 'hunt'.

ok, mangareader's "but in the upper echelons[..]support for Aokiji[..]" was weird, but i feel their translation feels more like natural speech, overall.

Some friends and I were talking the other day and realized OP turns 14 next month (Aug 2011) so we thought we'd do something to thank the author of this great story. I confess, I wasn't too into it at first, until I saw how fun this will get.

To commemorate the years, we will update fb, twitter etc with OP content daily. It was initially intended as a silent homage, but I think it best to tell all here since we've been a family for who knows how long.. I think. I enjoy the views here. I think. Nonetheless! It'd be nice if Oda knew.. so y not? When people ask, we can't answer - it is information of privilege. If they really want they can find out via wiki or by searching, not to mention the search hits for OP….

So, for 3 weeks starting Mon 1st August:
1st wk - post OP character names, starting with favorite, at least once daily. Can include loved and hated characters alike
2nd wk - post OP pirate crew names, starting with favorite, at least once daily. Include organizations if you like e.g. Dragon and The Revolutionaries
3rd wk - post Oda's name once dailly.
4th week?? - I dunno, ideas?

Of course we can update as normal with other content, the important thing is to post daily.

Use Kanji, Kana, Romanji or Translations. Order doesn't matter and remember, keep updating!

Kizaru is kinda lazy, he has that lazy face but he's light and moves fast, Akainu is shi* cold still his power is magma and Aokiji (beside being lazy) is actualy the least merciless guy.

Its the opposite. Their personalities and dfs compliment;

Kizaru moves at the speed of light; everything is slow to him, so he's easy going
Akainu is merciless; as is magma
Aokiji is lazy; he can freeze places, things, people to a standstill. Frozen.

If unaware, few stand a chance. With Kenbunshoku Haki though, and most of the stronger pirates and vice admirals and above marines have it, it'll be something similar to Aohige quake punch Akainu – damage BUT reduced.

And Sentoumaru just witnessed Luffy's Kenbunshoku.. we all know, marines are notorious with information dissemination and management.

strong numbers. It was said somewhere in the story fishmen are stronger than humans, but because of the number of humans, many fishemen were made slaves. Same thing at the war on the summit. Number of marines, and many strong maries.
However when I recall Luffy on Enies Lobby.. ehh…!!?...

There's a good chance he believes in….things. And he probably isn't an atheist. But you won't find him in a Christian church taking communion.

First: I in no way disagree (neither do I necessarily agree, to be sure, but this is not why I've writ this post).

Second: I do however wonder, why there are so many crosses in Zoro's theme… impending crucifi-- forget it. His intro had him as a demon tied to a cross, the crosses on his sword, Mihawk's island with crosses, and on and on..

As for the Caribou brothers - splaterer and weterer or whatever.. I dunno, I don't see them attempting to fight any of the Strawhats, unless they do not know at the time, the FakeHats are fake. They submitted to the FakeHats, I doubt they'd knowingly fight the Strawhats.

Zoro and Mihawk. In observing human behaviour, a pattern that emerges is people always help those that don't need them. Which is precisely why charity is called charity, its a special occurence, rather than the norm.

The conversation went mainly something like this:

If pirate captains were not strong enough, they would suffer mutiny, such as Coby though he was not stronger than Alvida at the time.

Ussop really does look like a brave warrior and isn't afraid anymore, which I like. It shows real growth in his character. The fake Sogeking/Luffy reaction was more being surprised than anything else.

Don't really like Franky yet though. I guess he's going to be able to do some crazy stuff, using Vegapunks notes and blueprints but right now I'm not feeling it yet.

Also, Luffy mastered everything Rayleigh had to teach him in 1,5 years while Rayleigh said, normally, one would need about 2 years

According to Aohige_HP Luffy learn't all Ray had to teach him in 1 year. Also, Rayleigh sed it would ordinarily take a lot longer than 2 years, but because Luffy's disposition is high, he would beat the basics into Luffy in two years… go Luffy! ^^^

Zoro arriving first, it is a sign of a rough sea ahead (not the Zoro he used to be - if he had to change this much..) Seen as an omen.

You know, I've enjoyed all of the One Piece arcs, but I have to say the war was my least favorite. Don't know why, didn't hate it or anything, just I liked all the other ones better.

A friend pointed out, we enjoy the parts of the story that have an embodied villain or collective of villains that we like/identify with.

I loved rob lucci, I saw him and thought 'this is despair'. W7/EL is therefore my most favourite arc.
Thought Enel was cheap, overhyped and overplayed. The only time I saw him as a monster and felt momentary fear is when he revived himself.
Admittedly, some people here like Gecko Moria, whom I hate passionately. I thought he was a pathetic excuse for a villain, but I tried to enjoy the adventure in the arc. Still, TB is easily the most useless arc in my opinion - even though it showcased my second fav character outside of the SHs - Bartholomew Kuma. OP could have easily done without it.
