And he still got 30% of the Latino vote somehow.
Exit Polls, if they weren't posted yet.
I'm more upset 37% of postgraduates voted for him. I had thought better of academia…

You just won/lost 20 beers. (Which side did you pick?)
To clarify: he believes Trump will see her jailed, I don't.

@The:
The Republicans better hope these 4 years are pretty spotless (i.e. falling into recession…again), or they are fucked in 2020, especially if Democrats choose a cult of personality like Trump.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
No. Won't happen.
You mean I won't win or she won't be jailed?
So my friend just bet 20 beers against me that Trump would jail Clinton. What do you think my odds are for winning this one?
Really, USA?
How are things in Lithuanian media right now? Russia could have pretty much free hands in the baltics now that Trump has won.
I beg to differ.
Both sides have been pretty nasty towards the other. At least that's been my experience on the boards I frequent.
In general yes, but I was talking about AP specifically.
dude this whole tread was filled with hate, scornful comments towards Trump and his supporters. The people voting Trump were the only "sane" people such as Robot and they said nothing of the sort against Clinton and her voters.
Yes, we almost unanimously dislike Trump and think most of his supporters are dingbats. But whenever somebody brings something up about Clinton we've discussed it without ad hominem and scornful comments. Whereas next to the entirety of Trump's campaign has been trolling and bullying. I mean 20-odd people writing anti-Trump comments isn't this overarching reason why his supporters are gloating.
this would not happen if leftist people and Clinton party didn't made fun of Trump and their voters for YEARS. What kind of reactions did you expect?
Trump supporters are and have been notorious for engaging in Internet bullying, doxing, smear campaigns and hypebeast propaganda. Tf are you talking about?
Here's what we are going to lose:
The Supreme Court will be dominated by conservative justices for a generation.
Same-sex marriage will likely be outlawed on a national level.
A woman's right to choose will end.
Social Security will be cut. Or even eliminated.
The rich will get more tax breaks.
Medicare will be cut or repealed.
Obamacare will be repealed.
We are likely to head into a recession, possibly a depression.
There will be no action on climate change.
Our international relationships will be destroyed.
NATO will be crippled or disbanded.
Oil drilling, fracking, and pipelines will get tax benefits and govt subsidies.
We are likely to end up in a war with Iran.
We might see the end of the free press.And, because this man believes in revenge, there may be mass incarcerations.
So yeah. Great job America.
Not to mention Russia will have more or less completely free hands to play around in the Baltics. And with NATO being fucked over, there is basically no guarantee we can push them back. Also the ripple effect it will have on populist parties in Europe. Yeah, this is probably the dark ages… The tin foil hats and Russian propaganda has toppled western civilization...
2016 is hands down the worst year this decade.
Well, I'm moving from Scandinavia. It's just a matter of time before brother Ivan knocks on the door now. Is Canada any good?
Trump won Ohio .
Who're old miserable people.
It's official: the only good thing to ever come out of Ohio is Bone Thugs-n-Harmony
Fucking scummy swedish TV changes to local news from out of the blue….
This is Brexit all over again. All the forgotten racists coming out of their rural nooks and crannies.
They've been congregating under bridges, biding their time, sacrificing lambs to Cthulu and David Duke.
When you saw New Hampshire flip red:
Rubio apparently got reelected for the senate
@Cyan:
They stopped being Democrats specifically because Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act.
Fuck nuance and all that shit then.
@Cyan:
Would the Dems still support minority rights? Then yes.
I think you're oversimplifying. It isn't strange that marginalized groups are drawn to populism and unflattering ideals. In this case we're talking people who were largely democrat previously.
@Cyan:
Well they care more about being white than being workers, so the Dems would have to revert to their 19th-early 20th century incarnation ad the party of loud racists.
So you think if the democrats could snap their fingers and get them their jobs back/improve their conditions, they would still vote Trump?
Something they keep bringing up right now on the stream is the fact that Trump find a lot of supporters in white, blue collar workers across the rustbelt. Do you guys think there is anyway for the democrats in the future to find themselves in good grace with workers of this persuasion?
They're doing more or less the same here too . Though no celebrities (except Seth Meyers who did an interview a couple hours ago). They're organizing one-on-one debates between reps and dems at their NYC headquarters to kill time and they have journos at Trump and Clinton camps.
The only thing I'm missing is them explaining gerrymandering for House races.
I'm jealous you get american celebrities. Here they just finished interviewing cranky men with terrible facial hair in the Appalachia ( I think you can guess who they support ).
They've explained here really well what blue states, red states and swing states are and which of the latter to look out for. As well as House and Senate races and the Supreme Court appointment. Basically, Dutch reporting doing a great job as long as there isn't a commentator talking about Economic Anxiety again.
For better or worse, they spend a lot of time explaining concepts in american politics, as well as common terminology. They even took the time to explain the Rust Belt. There is quite a bit of meandering and inviting random celebrities, unfortunately. Luckily we get our previous minister of foreign affairs ( who is probably amongst the most respected politicans we've ever had ) to shed some light on it.
lol CNN is hyping up Trump winning Kentucky.
the same on SVT ( Sweden ), although they've only counted 10.000 votes.
BOOOOOORRRRIIIIING!
I understand Daryl is a fan favorite and you gotta showcase what's happening to him but the episode went nowhere! Literally nowhere! No developments, no reveals, no nothing. Just the same scene over and over again and some crappy music. I feel like we were the ones that were tormented.
It's almost like taking the coolest character in the cast and keeping him locked in a room to eat dogfood sandwiches doesn't make for very interesting TV. Who could have thought?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
This is the walking dead, what did you guys expect. They will prolong stuff for as long as the can to easy fill time.
Sure, you sort of have to expect it, but it still sucks when it happens. :getlost:
As long as Holy Orgasm Guy is around, I'm going to keep on reading. I know for a fact he'll be defeated with some ol' bullshit, but for as long as he is around I will take joy in laughing at Mashima's ineptitude.

Dont understand the point of having Kagura being used as tool hype when she hasnt meant anything ever since she lost to Pre SO Erza, she would have to be at least Tartaros level Erza to be useful in this War Arc.
This. Kagura didn't prove in the slightest that she's stronger than before and this doesn't really help her case. Unless we knew that she's on the same level as current Erza, the fight doesn't actually prove anything. When she get stomped like this, it just makes her look weak. We still don't have any indication of Holy Orgasm Guy's power.
Welcome to the reason we kept reading Bleach until the end.
Oh I'm well aware. I always came to this forum to watch people pick every chapter apart. Good times…
I'm not gonna lie: A lot of Sanji's and Pudding's dialogue felt like spanish soap opera. At this point however, I sort of doubt Pudding is malicious. I just don't see any reason to believe that, and the whole ''you never said you wanted to marry me'' shit, feels a lot more like a mistake on Oda's part than obvious foreshadowing. From a storytelling perspective, it's quite a stretch to go from that to "Pudding was evil all along!!".
I grew up in an irreligious household and came out on the other end as an irreligious person, despite having some pretty deep fascinations for in particular pagan cultures and rituals. Through my teens I was pretty much a fedora-atheist, big fan of Dawkins, Harris and Hitchens, etc. Upon getting older and developing a bigger care for partying, studying and lovelife, religion sort of became something I didn't reconsider anymore.
When it comes to my every day life today, I honestly don't care about religion or religious people, as long as they keep their belief out of politics and especially science education. Even if I find many, many practices within all religions to be proposterous, it doesn't bother me insofar as the people involved do it out of their free will and this should be the attitude everyone has, whether it be religious people or atheists. On the occasion that it does seep into mainstream discourse, I feel as if nothing should be sacred. Any statement like ''Jesus roose from the dead on the third day'', ''Mohammed flew to the heavens on a winged horse'', ''Jesus will return to Missouri'', ''Odin sacrificed his eye to get perfect knowledge'' should be handled with the same exact scrutiny everything else is handled.
The rational side of my brain want to throw this series in the bushes and never, ever read it again. But I won't be able to, I just absolutely have to see how much more tasteless it can get. How much more lower can Hiro go? Will next chapter be all the virgins finding out that if you have sex at the same time as the spell is being cast, you reverse it's effect and instantly kill the caster? God damn, I just have to see where Hiro goes with this.
This is pretty interesting and it made me wonder something. Is there any way to tell if the majority of independents are left-leaning or right-leaning? And would it be concerning for Hillary if the majority of them were right-leaning or are there simply not enough of them?
well most white supremacists and nutters in general are rallying behind Trump, so I would probably conclude that it is a blend between moonbats, anarchists and hardlined libertarians who get behind the third party members at this point.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Since the topic came up again… why is this guy not banned from youtube?
Arguably cause his channel is too small and most of his detractors don't care enough to the point where they will report him, but rather provide video responses or ignore it. Armoured Skeptic tore him apart in a video he made, which was highly catarthic.
Why are people feeling like that? She said in the last debate that she'd try to neogtiate with Russia to set up the no-fly zone. If Russia doesn't want at any costs, obviously it won't happen. I can understand thinking idea of setting up a no-fly zone in Syria in the first place is bad(though I have no idea if it would be or not) but this "I'd like to set up a no-fly zone in Syria" = WW3! equivalence is so stupid…
I think it's just the political hysteria on twitter and the fact that so many europeans use alternative news sites over mainstream ones. We all just see endlessly repeated mantras about Hillary and most of us don't bother to check them in detail. Especially in the baltic countries, I think anything pertaining to Russia making advancements is highly worrying and taken seriously.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm not very up on these things, but as far as i've read isn't the general consensus that while the current Russian army is a mere fraction of what the Soviet Union could muster, that fraction, as worn down and outdated as it is, is still greater than, or at it's very worst equal to what any European nation could muster.
That would be correct, there is more russian personell active than there is british, german and french put together.
I've heard of people in other countries getting anxious about Trump becoming the nest POTUS. I've heard about a little girl in Germany crying over fear of TRump becoming POTUS … but now can't find that link
This reminds me of J.K. Rowling's response to a tweet that basically snarked off at her, implying since she's British she should stay out American Politics. actual tweet= “aren’t you British? Mind your business!"
To which Rowling replied=
**"When a man this ignorant & easy to manipulate gets within sniffing distance of the nuclear codes, it's everyone's business."**I fully agree with Rowling there.
I've seen that video. I've also seen a lot of Trump fanboys making fun of her…
That being said, a lot of people are afraid of Hillary too, especially after this whole debacle about her entering a war with Russia. Considering the latest wikileaks ( which has historically been highly regarded in european political circles ), her reputation is being even more eroded. The powerful grip the Kremlin propaganda machine has on Europe is highly disturbing....
I've been dealing with patients the past few days who are feeling anxious and downright paranoid over this year's election. Bear in mind, I live in Norway, so that speaks volumes for how influential and toxic the election year is. But people are nowhere near as terrified as americans who frequent therapy sessions are apparently:
Ripping a baby from the womb on the final day is called a C-section. It's a common procedure.
No one has an "abortion" on the last week unless something is craaazy wrong. Usually they'll try to save the baby at that point.
I don't understand why Clinton didn't drive this point home. Seriously, a 5 year old knows more about abortions than Trump. I don't even think the most strident of pro-lifers would believe this. But now the abortion issue has been brought down even lower and Trump's fucking supporters are eating it up .
I'm still waiting for the proof on that. Bias exists and will be a part of some situations, but those are individual cases. Years of research haven't shown that modern police are more willing to kill black people based on race.
In addition, it looks really bad when people riot over and over and over again without having a smoking gun, especially when those rioters repeatedly target a specific group of people based on their skin color.
Man, that was a really disheartening read. BLM's representative better have had spoken out against it.

the influence of Hollywood and californian standard english is very clear apparently. Funny that I ended up in Stockton, considering I had a roommate from Stockton/Sacramento once. I guess I'm gonna have to learn a little bit of Californian slang. Are there any californians here who can teach me a little?
Where in the U.S. do people say youse though? Don't think I've ever heard of it.
It's been two days, but Twitter has spent that time relentlessly mocking the next contribution of anti-scientific stupidity. How I wish this would have happened immediately when the flat earthers became a thing…
Can somebody explain what the whole "HILARY WILL START A WAR WITH RUSSIA!!!!" nonsense is?
My heart skipped a beat when I saw some 8 king action and then all my expectations were just shit on. Seriously fuck this chapter.
While it's certainly true that Trump is in bed with a lot of anti-semitic elements, this type of talk is very common outside of those circles as well.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Oh yeah… that time he claimed it wasn't a Jewish star and we were the crazy ones.
He said star so many times! His supporters tried to prove his point by tweeting pictures of stars in other context trying to make it seem as if ''so it's anti semitic to have stars on places?! Whur my country gone?!''
@Daz:
Now can anyone explain to me why #17 and #18 were stronger than in Trunks time, and how the remote control scenarios change?
The strongest argument I've seen is that Trunks is simply wrong, because he never saw the Androids fight all out. 17 told future Gohan that they were only going 50 % when he lost his arm. Trunks wasn't present when 17 fought him at full power and hence wouldn't be able to know how strong they were. Still, it doesn't feel like the two points connect, there isn't really a strong link in the narrative between these two. The androids being stronger in the main timeline than in Trunks' future failed to become a significant plotpoint the moment Vegeta and Trunks skyrocketed above them in power.
Seems Trump supporters have caught a view of the 'female voter map' and 'male voter map'. Their suggestion? Repeal the 19th Amendment…
http://usuncut.com/news/trump-supporters-tweet-repealthe19th-polls-show-hed-win-men-voted/
And next we should bring back slavery! And burn witches at the stake!
There are women tweeting this? I mean seriously, we've hit bedrock now. Trump's followers are psychotic,
there is no other explanation, there just can't be. Media must take responsibility and make this the biggest shitstorm ever. I expect endless news cycles about this and nothing else relating to Trump's campaign. If you have followers for the abolition of voting you don't deserve a political career period.
and I have been for hours and hours :wub:
@Monkey:
lots of text
This is one of the most brilliant deconstruction off the Putin-jugend propaganda I've ever seen. This phenomenon of westerners believing Putin to be some sort of misunderstood hero is one of the most bizarre and cynical issue in western political discourse.
Moderate republicans?…..we still have those:ninja:?
Sure there is. Given the number of republicans who have stepped out to support Clinton in this election, I would say that there are quite clearly a lot of republicans who are willing to cooperate. And by comparison, I would say a lot more republicans distance themselves from pro-lifers and homophobes today than there were just a few years ago. Yet it goes without saying that the party has been experiencing a really powerful current towards the fringe. Which I hope this hope whole Trump spectacle will have made the more levelheaded forces in the party realise the necessity to drive them in a different direction.
People still keep saying Hillary is equal to or worse than Trump. This is mind boggling to me. I have no idea what to say ro anyone that is still undecided. Or that claims Stein and Johnson are far batter than Clinton. I get being pissed at the current way politics are. But I can't understand how people still insist Hillary will destroy us all.
This election is too stressful lol. November needs to get here quickly.
My hope for this election is that it has exposed the ugliest parts of american politics to the point that people will fullheartedly start working for real change. I also really hope that it will cause moderate democrats and republicans come together and work against a shitshow like this ever happening again.
Just imagine if Rubio would have ran against Sloan and how much less stressful it would be.
I remember around 2 years ago when the jamaican reggae artist Sizzla were banned from festivals due to pressure from gay activists over homophobic lyrics.
Jamaica scores as one of the most homophobic nations in the world and it shouldn't be surprising that a lot of these attitudes are common amongst musicians from there. And despite Jamaica's small population it's one of the most influential nations in the world when it comes to producing music. The same goes for Hip-Hop where gay bashing is and has been common for years. It has changed slightly over the years as a lot of artists from what I've seen has come out to say that they don't have anything against gays, but homophobia is nonetheless very common in hip hop culture. While overt racism can't exactly get mainstream, musical traction, homophobia certainly can and still is. So my question is basically, How do you guys feel that this sort of stuff should be handled? Is it warranted to boycott music of this sort or should it just be dealt with in a debating format?
@Count:
! I can definitely agree with a couple of those critiques. Some of the police banter did feel a bit… I don't know, lifeless and trying too hard to sound police-esque. Especially that conversation in episode 12 where the two policemen were talking about how one of them was insecure about super powered guys like Luke Cage being around. It just felt really obvious and awkward to hear that dialogue, even though I know it was to enforce the xenophobia about superpowers existing. I didn't mind all of the banter about maintaining control since they were trying to establish that as a theme as well, but it also sticks out with how it lacks a bit of nuance.
! And don't even get me started on the Blacksmith storyline lol. It bothers me most of all because of how well Punisher was being portrayed for the earlier half of the season, and it feels like they were really trying to push him to stay relevant in the story once all the Hand started coming in. Instead of keeping Castle in his own little world with a needlessly complex origin story masterminded by a one-note character I could care less about, why not actually draw him into the storyline of the Hand? I guess that Marvel might have been afraid that somebody like Punisher interacting with undead ninjas wouldn't really fit, but if that's the case, just have him go against the Yakuza since they're deeply connected with the Hand. I seriously wish Frank contributed more to the finale than giving a couple of head shots, especially since I was really excited to see how Frank would contribute to the final episode.
! Man, I just really don't care for the Hand in Daredevil season two, and I was wary of them lacking somehow because of how they don't have a specific leader in charge to have interesting character depth either. Nobu coming back was so meh due to lacking any personality or memorable features beyond his fight with Matt, and they try to hard to be creepy and intimidating, but all I'm left with is a feeling that has me scratching my head because I have no idea what these guys are trying to do. They just keep trying to say these vague and abstract terms like having the power to rule the world and the Black Sky, but because we have no idea what those things are or how their plan is supposed to function, everything they do just seems completely random and trying too hard. I get that the show might have been trying to keep the Hand's motivations a secret for if it gets expanded upon later if the Chaste actually show up, but the thing about suspense is that you're supposed to give us enough breadcrumbs/tidbits of info to immerse ourselves within the current context. What am I supposed to take out of an infinitely deep hole other than you're apparently supposed to throw flashlights down? Or creepy kids who lost a lot of blood and suddenly get brainwashed to kill people and escape? All I can fathom is some extremely obtuse Satan worshipping ritual.
! While the Hand didn't bother me like that, I felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities. Ninjas are awesome after all and I feel as if Daredevil makes one of the better attempts in adapting them, so even if the circumstances surrounding them aren't optimal, they are still okay. The awesome of actually having ninjas in a liveaction tv show sort of makes up for a lot of the shortcomings.
! I agree a lot of the mystery surrounding them is more of a headache than anything, BUT I think it will be rectified next season and that alot of the weird stuff with Black Sky, their goal and who they actually are will start to make sense. I think the writers of season 2 got a little too eager to throw in comicbooky elements ( after the success of the first season ) to see what stuck. They took quite a big risk, some of it didn't pay off, but I still respect them being willing to compromise. So I sort of give it a pass, with the hope that season 3 give the Hand a wellrounded storyline.
The Hiatus Miura takes along with the general snailpace of releases highlights just how dedicated his fanbase are to his work. I can't think of any other manga I would continue reading with a release date like this. I'll probably die before Berserk finishes, but at the very least I get to read like 19 pages of really wellmade drawings every 4-5 months. Yay.
Man, I really don't know what to think about this. The last POTC was wishwashy as all hell and I seriously doubt anything short of heraculean efforts will be able to breath new life into the franchise. Apart from Max Manus ( which I think works for Scandinavians and no one else ) Rönning's catalogue isn't exactly all that impressive.
