@KageKageKing:
Would you look at this and think those guys can clash with Kaido?

I won't, but apparently those hobos can face him.
God, it cannot be emphasized enough how much they look like a pack of hobos, right down to their captain. LOL! When Oda reintroduces them to the story, he's gonna HAVE to give them a visual redesign so that they don't look like the fodder of every crew we've seen for the last 900+ chapters.
@BattleFranky69:
If he takes them under where she can't see where they went, how's she going to find them to hit them with an accurate kill-shot? The amount of damage she would have to do to get to them with lethal enough damage, just by chance, and cover a wide enough range to do it would take out her entire fleet and, while she's in that mental state, sure, she doesn't give a rat's ass if she kills half her brood and their ships and crews, but Oda wouldn't let that happen any more than he would allow her to butcher the Straw Hats. And there's nothing stopping Jimbei from just jumping onto another ship after they go overboard so they can take control of the relatively unguarded (after Carrot got through with them) Big Mom crew ship(s) for a big game of 'keep away', which is really the point, they're just buying time, they don't need to beat her or even fight her. But it looks like they're going to stand up to her, and I respect that. But from a strategic standpoint it's probably not their best option. Actually, there would be even more merit to commandeering her other ships because then she'd be blasting her own ships and people and further crippling her forces so that any of them who would try to prevent the Straw Hat escape would be severely reduced. If Jimbei is maneuverable enough to play a rigged game of Whack a Mole with her, that could be entertaining and crucial to their escape plan.
Well you can't aim electricity through water–it goes everywhere, lightning fast. I was just pointing out that Jinbei taking them into the water makes them all sitting ducks: An Almighty Thunderbolt to the surface will take them all out (I didn't think about damage to her own forces, but Big Mom doesn't seem to be in the state of mind to think about it either). Granted, since electricity is the second most-harmless lethal substance in the One Piece World (the first, of course, being explosions*), the crew would probably still be fine, but they would be defeated, at the least. I can't imagine how they can possibly stand up to her at this point, at this range, but I guess that's part of the fun...
@BattleFranky69:
Wait, why would a female character be great if she could have been replaced by a male with no difference to the plot? Wouldn't they have to be irreplaceable in order to be considered great? Or is that considered a limitation, being irreplaceable? I don't study literature so maybe I'm missing something.
No, a great character should be written as a great character–then you make it male or female. Sometimes the characters identity is integral to the plot (think of the show "The Handmaids Tale" or the movie "Moonlight", where being a woman or being Black, respectively, drives the plot). But if it's not essential to the plot, then their identities should just exist without any special fanfare in the story. Otherwise you have women stopping the movie every 5 seconds to go "I'm a strong Independent woman that don't need no man" or Black characters going "What's live, shive-chucka!" or Asian characters speaking in terrible exaggerated broken English shudder
*EDIT: For the curious, the rankings are:
1st Place: Explosions
2nd Place: Electricity
3rd: Poison (!)
4th: Fire
And 5th: Bullets (somehow)
