RE: Volume 75 Predictions/Discussion
Thanks Redon.
Afetr looking at what that 10 chapters englobe , i even more sure that the volume will be call "Birdcage". -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Can anyone show me an example of a non-haki user cut through steel?? Would greatly appreciate it..
Zoro against Kaku:
!
But people can argue that Zoro already knew haki at this time.
-
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
@Vagadond: I was wrong about this scene:
!
There is black cracks (and blood). So i take a look at others scenes with this black cracks and i think this black cracks are maybe related to CoC (i think that when this black cracks appears that mean than,at least ,one of the fighter mixed CoC with Koka):
!
!
!
I do think that Sabo has CoC.!
It's the "King" punch after all. -
RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
I already see Gladius grabbing Elizabellos crown and making it explode KOing King :ninja:
Elizabello already used small version of Kings Punch on Picas arm, we dont know if he can throw another one after that. I doubt it but cant say its impossible.
Also surely haki is involved in Kings Punch as look here
http://4thletter.net/wp-content/uploads//op709.jpg
Black Cracks in the air - same kind as when Sabo hit Burgess here! http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140210183516/onepiece/fr/images/b/b3/SaboVsBurgess.jpg
and when Luffy hit Cesar with CoA hardened fist
So if anything I think that those black cracks in air might be some indicator of CoA hardening being added to punches.
In the case of CC i think that it is only blood but the black craks appears here:
!
So might be right  -
RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
Nope that was the "360 pound hou".
-
RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
Gladius would maybe fight Elizabello.
He's the only one without a opponent. -
RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
Yeah I know it was a measure of physical power. In that case you can say Jabra's would go up too cause his Zoan transformation. I could also easily point out that Jabra is a carnivorous Zoan, which Chopper said leads to increased physical aggression and skill. Kaku was not a carnivorous Zoan, just a regular Zoan, and furthermore just got his fruit like 5 minutes ago. Jabra'd be more skilled with his fruit than Kaku, who fumbled around trying to get a hold on his fruit the entire time. There's no merit to how many attacks Zoro used to defeat Kaku, or how many Diable Jambes it took to beat Jabra. It generalizes the whole thing too much. Kaku was also fumbling around himself so you could say Kaku wasn't as strong as he possibly could have been if he had better handle on his fruit. On the other hand, Sanji had just gotten his ass kicked by Califa, so you could say there was previous damage from that, which is why it took 2 attacks.
1/ The carnivorous Zoan was state to be the most violent not the most resistant :
!
2/ How do you know how strong Kaku and Jabura become when they in they zoan's form?
3/How do you know that the much longer you got a zoan the more resistant you are?
4/Sanji did get beat up by Kalifa but he has time to rest meanwhile Zoro had to avoid Kaku and Jabura protecting Usopp.
5/Why do you elude the fact that Kaku is a swordsman?I know their rivalry isn't based on strength. But they each make fun of the other at every chance they can. Zoro's even chided Sanji for having a lower bounty, I think. But neither of them say the other is weaker than they are, they definitely respect each other's strength. You can't take either of them seriously if one is significantly weaker than the other.
I personally don't see that this way. The fact that they respect each other strength don't exclude one to be clearly weaker than the other (and i don't mean that the gap between them is like the gap between Vergo and Monet for example).
You're not seeing what I'm saying here. Everything in One Piece has a point. What you mentioned is definitely straight up comic relief, it doesn't have a deeper meaning. However, the Little Garden dinosaur thing does. You know why? Because there's context to it, it's not just a gag.
I see what you mean.
But when one arc earlier Zoro and Luffy was fighting on equal terms ( Luffy even state that he was serious and Zoro put his bandana on) it was a gag or it was serious?
Because as you said everything in One Piece has a point.Dorry and Broggy had been fighting the entire arc, and they were shown to be a total physical match for each other, neither of them was stronger than the other, even if they use slightly different weapons. Then we get the context with their original argument, over whose catch is bigger. This was important because it showed that they're pretty much equal on all things. When they catch fish it's the same size, when they fight they're pretty much evenly matched. So when Zoro and Sanji get the dinosaurs later on, it's the very first indication Oda gives in the story that Sanji and Zoro are on the same level. Your mind instantly registers that connection, because you've just seen it.
The problem is that one arc earlier Zoro and Luffy fight on equal terms and 2 arc later Zoro fight someone clearly stronger than Sanji opponent.
I say that Mr1 is clearly stronger than Mr.2 because in Impel Down they was on different level. -
RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
I don't agree with this for a few reasons.
What is even the point of Douriki? Oda's not the kind of guy to put something like Douriki in his series. And it's never ever seen again. It was just to give us a concrete idea of how powerful the CP9 members are in relation to each other, and the average Marine. Kaku being 2200 and Jabra being 2180 is no coincidence, it was to show that they are very close in terms of raw physical power.
Yeah the Douriki show the différence between Kaku(without swords) and Jabura not the difference between Zoro and Sanji.
As i already said, Zoro beats Kaku with one Asura when Sanji need two Diable Jambe to beat Jabura. And then we saw that Jabura was fresh enough to walk with Kaku on his back. They had a rivalry that was similar to the one Zoro and Sanji had, which was great.
No the rivalry is between Jabura and Lucci.
The thing is, their rivalry doesn't mean anything if Zoro outclasses Sanji in any significant regard. It's not a rivalry if both members aren't close to each other in terms of skill or power, think about it.
I would agree with that if they rivalry was strenght-wise but it's just that they can't stand each other.
What i mean is that Sanji is not a obstacle for Zoro in the way to WSM and Zoro is not an obstacle for Sanji in the way of All blue. The dinosaur hunt was more than just comic relief. When you see that, your mind registers these guys as equal.
So when Sanji put poison and razors in Zoro's bento that was not a comic relief neither, i guess..
-
RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
The doriki do not count that Kaku is a swordsman and Zoro beat Kaku with one Asura attack when Sanji need to Diable Jambe to beat Jabura. Futhermore Kaku was more hurt than Jabura after EL:
!
As you can see Jabura is fresh enough to hold Kaku who can't walk. The Dinosaurs' hunt was comic-relief.
Everything in the manga ,strenght-wise, shows that Zoro is clearly stronger than Sanji. Which do not mean that Sanji is weak.

RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Sure. None of the most powerful guys in One Piece can use Koka.
I don't say they can't use it, i say they didn't use it in MarineFord.
If Koka was a just a visual effect it wouldn't be call "Busō-shoku no Haki:hardening" but just "Busō-shoku no Haki".
And Oda would not continue to make CoA users use CoA without them show no black limbs or black weapon. -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
So no one in Marineford could use this advanced form of CoA, right?
Obviously no.
Why? Ask Oda. -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
I still think this is just a visual effect to make sure the readers know when someone is using CoA.
In the datebook Deep Blue it is state that koka is advanced form of CoA, so it isn't just a visual effect.
-
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
I got 2 questions and a theory for you guys about Zoro and his CoA.
Oda gave us in a SBS the haki spécialisation of the M3 and we clearly saw Luffy and Sanji use the haki they specialize in at a good level and multiple times:
-Luffy uses CoC at Shabaody , Fishman island (2 times) and Dressrosa
-Sanji uses CoO atPunk Hazard (2 times) and Dressrosa (2 times). While the only time we clearly saw Zoro uses CoA was against Monet, so my question are:
-Do you think Zoro uses CoA other times? If yes, when?
-How strong do you think his CoA is?
TheoryI have a original theory on this theme, i think that Zoro ,since the TS, uses CoA every time (i mean the same way that Coby uses his CoO) and the only times he didn't uses it was when he cuts Monet in 2.
I think that because of this sentence on the datebook deep blue:"__How to acquired haki? Awakened during fights: When a person is placed in fights where the mind and body are pushed to the limits, the ability that lies dormant will be awakened suddenly! Training is needed in order for the user to manipulate haki at ease."
I know that you gonna tell me that this definition apply to what happen to Coby but not Zoro and i'll ask you are you sure that Zoro never been in a situation "where the mind and body are pushed to the limits"? If you don't remember look a this:
!
Yeah, i think that Zoro awakened his CoA at this time but due to form of the CoA (it doesn't make voice appears in your mind) he was not aware of it.

RE: Chapter 754: Please to make your acquaintance
@Nex:
First of all, Zoro says, "I think I've gotten the hang of it," which implies that he is being forced to use a move that he has not necessarily mastered yet.
That not what he meant. He was not talking about him but about how to defeat Pica.
@Nex:
(First and a half: he's already been fighting Pica longer than Hyouzou and Monet combined.)
Only because he didn't know how to hurt him. Now he knows.
@Nex:
Second, Pica is just fine. We see him reacting to the cut with a hilarious face fault, and we see him again a few panels later listening to Zoro.
Giant Stone Pica is not equal to flesh and blood Pica. He is still completely fine and definitely not defeated.
Pica is bleeding. He actually got cut and hurt.

RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Even in Roger's Crew Rayleigh had CoC Haki so having more than one Conqueror in the crew shouldn't be that big of a deal.
And Shanks too.
Same thing in WB crew, WB and Ace were CoC user. -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
In terms of Zoro and Monet, CoC is meant to be, like Redx said, intimidation through spirit/willpower.
In Zoro's case, he intimidated her by cutting her in half and showing that he could have killed her effortlessly. That particular incident isn't relevant to CoC potential.
In fact she was intimidated before she got cut (she wasn't able to move anymore).

RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
List of known characters who utilize fire in their fighting style in a nonsensical manner. This does not include people who, for example, use a flamethrower to attack, or ignite chemicals at range, it DOES include people who do things with fire that should hurt them as they are doing it or for whom there is no obvious explanation for the fire.
Luffy-The Red Hawk
Sanji-Diable Jambe and associated attacks
Zoro-Versus Ryuma, the Hiryu Kaen
Pearl-Lights himself on fire with a match, then continues to fight
Boa Marigold-Sets herself on fire, then uses her hair to attack
Daruma-Versus Usopp, the Hi-Daruma Cutter
Kumadori-Versus Chopper, the Shishi-Kebab
Kinemon-His entire fighting style is based on thisI'm probably missing a few, but yeah. There's precedent for people or weapons spontaneously bursting into flame, or being completely unharmed by them for no apparent reason. Not being hurt by the flame could be explained by Haki providing armor around the body or object. The spontaneous flame cannot.
It's possible that it will be expanded on eventually, but I'm not holding my breath for it. I assume it's just like Fishman Karate, where someone who knows the right trick can pull off some specific "magic like" effect.
I don't know if you can include the "Hiryu Kaen" in this list because the flames are blue while in the others attacks the flames are yellow.

RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Just wondering if there has been any evidence given in the book that CoA gives any protection from poisons?
Obviously it'd make breaking the skin difficult and offer that protection, but would it make any difference to something like Magellan's contact types? In the the Databook DeepBlue it's state that the CoA can protect the user against the effects of DF.
So in the same way that Shanks' CoA protect him from Akainu's magma, CoA can protect you from Magellan's poison. -
RE: "One Piece 3D2Y" new TV special (30th August 2014)
That's the part i don't understand either.
Hancock didn't answer the WG's call and that is why she wasn't captured? The synopsis is wrong ,in fact Burndy want to capture all the warlords and start his chase by preying on Hancock?
I'll wait until the teaser… -
RE: "One Piece 3D2Y" new TV special (30th August 2014)
Thanks for all the infos guys.
I read that it's Oda who made Burndy World but is the episode canon? -
RE: One Piece Ten (ONE PIECE 展), new amazing event in Japan.
Thank you Kaze.
So the mugiwaras will be more than ten:wassat:
Now i wonder if BB will get new nakamas too or if the mugiwaras will not have a fight each?
Damn you Oda…. -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
I strongly believe that Luffy, Doflamingo and Chinjao can use Fullbody Koka:
-Luffy 'cause he can put koka on is arms (in G3 state his arms are way larger than him), legs and forehead. So he must be able to put it on him everywhere a the time
-Dofla 'cause he can put it on his coat and partially on his chest a the same time. And it s hard for me to believe that Vergo is a better CoA user than Dofla
-The Don can put koka on his arms and belly a the same time so i think that he is able put it everywhere in the same time too.On a general note: i think that when someone know how to use koka, put it on him everywhere in the same time is easy.
-
RE: Volume 75 Predictions/Discussion
In the cover i predict that we will see Sabo, Luffy, Law, Dofla (or the Birdcage) and Issho-san.
-
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Rivalle - what do you mean by Whitebeard putting CoA in his attacks ? Maybe provide links so we can discuss exact pages you are talking about
http://www.mangareader.net/103-47298-5/one-piece/chapter-575.html
You can see that in the first attack the punch do not directly touch Akainu but he's still bleeding and suffering. -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
It seems that Whitebeard can put CoA on his seisms (i.e his last 2 blows against Akainu) and , for me, seism is not a tangible thing.
-
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
If one can apply haki on air slashes (which are wind) why not on a Hiken? My guess is that one can apply haki on his element but probably just the invisible one not the koka.
I got a other guess: I think that because of its property (hardening things until they become hard as steel) we will never see a swordman use koka on his blade because otherwise the blade would lost its sharp side and become a mere stick.
That would explain why Bastille do not use koka on his blade to attack Sabo. What you guys think?
-
RE: Chapter 751: "Sabo vs Admiral Fujitora"
Why Bastille attacks Sabo without using koka????
-
RE: Which filler character has the best design done by Oda?
Strong World is confirmed canon by Oda.
Really? I thought it was non canon but that Shiki and is background are:wassat:
-
RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
Il seems that in the anime , post skip, CoC and CoA(the barrier or the clash of koka) are depicted with the blue color (Rayleigh vs elephant, Zoro and Tashigi vs Monet, every time that Luffy uses CoC the screen turn blue, Luffy vs Don Chinjao…) so my question is why the anime made that color's choice? Is that an Oda's directive?
-
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
If there is people who got they CoO always activated (Enel, Aisa, Coby) do you tthink that there is people who got they CoA always activated?
-
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
What type of explanantion do you want?
Because there is a pretty good one of what haki can do in the databook "Deep Blue" (even if i guess that Oda didn't tell everything about it). -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Guys, just a theory, but Zoro's scar on his eye doesnt have stitches. Like from Luffy, underneath his eye, he had stitches on his scar. Shanks's three line scars didnt have stitches and he could open his eye.
Fujitora don't have stiches on his scars neither.
I guess Oda don't draw stiches on eyes' scar. -
RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
Okay thanks you FireMeowth.
-
RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
I read on an other forum that Oda made the scenario of this , is that true?
-
RE: Chapter 749: Rascals attack!
I think that Nami, Robin, Usopp and Chopper will not have straigth 1 vs 1 against the BB's crew but will fight the fodder.
I think that the one who'll get 1 vs 1 will be Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe (if he officialy joins) and Franky. The others commanders of the BB's crew will fight the allies of the mugiwara (Barto, Law, Hancock…)I think this because i'm uder the impression that the gap between the M3 and the rest is just going to be wider and wider.

RE: Volume 74 Predictions/Discussion
You're welcome.
Reader: Hi, Oda. When will "Pink Rabbit" appear?
Oda: What?? Pink… Rabbit...? Well..We have 3 admirals such as Kizaru, Fujitora and Ryokugyu (Green Bull)...
Ah! That reminds me. You must be talking about that person who is Vice Admiral and was one of the candidates of the new admirals!
OK! I'll show you. She is "Pink Rabbit."Ok , thanks.
Hope Oda will make her appears in the manga though. -
RE: Volume 74 Predictions/Discussion
Thank you Sandman:wub:
But about Pink Rabbit, can you explain to us why Oda speak about her?
What was the question of the reader?
